My wife and daughter went in for their yearly eye exam, they were both getting contacts and glasses. When they were finished they were going to shop around at a few different places for styles and prices and the sales lady said that if they left with the prescription that they would still file insurance and we would not be able to use our insurance anywhere else, that it would be blocked unless we bought from them. This is in direct violation of the Federal Trade Commission Eyeglass rule and I will be filing that complaint with the FTC. We went ahead and paid for the exams without insurance just in case, but I will never be back at another Stanton Optical again. As far as I am concerned, we were stolen from today. read more

Absolutely horrible! Had an appointment but when I arrived was told there was a 90 minute wait. The unprofessional young female that made her way to us didn't care whether I had an appointment or not. She then tried to explain what a virtual eye exam was and there were 22 people ahead of me - but "the exam will only take 10-15 minutes per person". I have gotten glasses from this place three times. All three times, there has been mistakes. Each time, it has taken 5 weeks to fufill my order. Their technicians do not listen to what the customers order, nor are there quality checks to make sure the final product matches the order. I will not be getting glasses from them again. Im currently here for my daughters eye exam. Sitting here watching a telecall type exam with no actual dr on site. Pretty frustrating! I would prefer an actual dr performing these exams. The dr didn't ask if she had any issues with vision either! This place is unprofessional as well. You stand and wait for someone to even show up to check you in. After being here for 15 minutes we were finally checked in and the technicians just sit and talk about personal issues while we are here. The only reason I chose this place was because insurance only covered very few places, this being one of them. I will not be back to this place I will definitely pay full price elsewhere! NO DOCTOR ON SITE Very Scammy Operation - Do not go here: I scheduled a doctors appointment, thinking that somebody was going to actually physically be able to meet with me and instead drove in to meet over zoom with the doctor being watched by sales representatives. The reason that they want you to go in it so that they can upsell you on the glasses, etc.. I filled out a sheet with some concerns I had about my eyes, and the doctor never either looked at that paperwork or obviously received it because he didn't cover any of that information whatsoever in the zoom consult because again they don't have doctors on site. Originally the sales associate tried to sell me the glasses that were hanging on the wall that had grease on them from other people trying them on. I asked if I could have a new pair and she said because I asked yes . I explained that I had a trip coming up and asked if my order was going to be ready before the trip. The answer was yes and of course by the time I was leaving for my trip my order had not arrived. When I went to go pick them up, I had another surprise waiting for me. I had picked some glasses from their designer section and in the past whenever I purchased expensive glasses, they came with the designer case. Not here! You get a crappy clear, Stanton Optical case to go with your designer glasses that you purchased. Awesome! read more

I called for an appointment and asked if they took my insurance. I was told they would check it when I arrived. I arrived to have my eyes checked and was informed that they do not take Medicare type insurances. Really?!? You make me go all the way to your office to tell me that. I also inquired about the appointment. I was told that the technician does the exam and then sends the information to the doctor. The doctor then teleconferences with you to get your prescription or to pass you on to another doctor if there are any issues with your eyes. I'm glad my insurance wasn't accepted. read more

came in for an exam on 1/26/24, first off i was quoted over the phone that if you bring your own frames its $20 fee plus $50 for lenses once the exam was completed thats when they informed me that it was inaccurate its many othe charges involved which i nevermind and paid anyways. I got my new glasses then once i wore them i begin having major headaches and felt dizzy to he point of almost fainting. I got a ride to go back in following day and inform them that i have had glasses literally my entire life and have had multiple "new prescriptions" which have NEVER gave me headaches or caused me to be dizzy at all. When i asked to speak with a manager they said i was unable to get a refund. I asked for my old lenses back they made a joke out of it about how they cleanup daily and throw out the trash so they wouldnt have them anymore. Then they were laughing at me and making it seem like my situation was funny or not serious telling me oh just dont drive with them if they make you dizzy.Well whats the point in that i hve kids who have to get to school i have a life i have to drive and i cant see so yea i have to drive with my glasses. Jessica and her associates just thought everything was funny when i dont feel i should be made fun of behind a serious situation. Im coming in saying i feel like im going to pass out when i wear the glasses and they joke to eachother about "maybe we gave yiu a wrong prescription " i find zero humor in what i came in for. it seems like from the beginning i was lied to and done wrong. I wanted to give them a try.. as i was waiting for my exam I looked around the glasses display, they all looked like quality merchandise... picked out a couple pair that I was interested in ... then my name was called ... the equipment all looked top quality ... then the exam started ... it was rush rush rush... better? click. worse? click .better? click worse? click.. sometimes so quick i couldn't actually see the little screen in question.. i had to ask for repeats several times. I was really wondering about the accuracy of the test ... test was over .. go choose glasses .. i picked the ones from earlier...then wait for a couple weeks for store to call.. went to pick them up ... I liked fit and feel .. the lens didn't seem right but sometimes you have to get use to them.. Although they re-examined my eyes and have me an upgrade on lenses and told me I have dry eye which was causing my problems (BS!), glasses still sucked. I can see better out of my old ones. I used my insurance and paid cash for the difference, I wasn't a free exam and ""two-fer" whatever they advertise, I paid more for one pair than most pay for 2! Go somewhere else. I called Stanton to get a copy of my prescription. I was told that I have to come to the store to get a printout or provide a fax number. I need to send the prescription to an online lens provider, so I would have to get a printout and scan it - they are so un-tech savvy a simple email is beyond their limited capacity. I'll never do business with these guys again - I don't have a car and it would cost me $40 in cab/uber fees just to get to their store to pick up a prescription that they SHOULD be able to provide to me in electronic format. read more

Since then the screws holding the frames to the ear pieces have came apart 4 times. We took them in under warranty to have them fix them and explain the poor quality of these frames. The tech said he didn't know why they were coming apart. He offered to use another set of frames and install the lenses. Here's the funny part...he says there will be a $5 warranty charge. BS. I said. We paid $400 for a pair of glasses that better be covered. He finally found another screw and got it repaired. I bet the screw comes out again. Then when picking out frames the sales lady kept trying to push the more expensive ones on me when I clearly said I didn't like the style. I ended up paying over $230 for 2 pairs of glasses that were combined under $240 and one pie was supposed to be 60% off and my insurance paid for $120 of one pair. After waiting on the eye exam and spending a good amount of time picking glasses they tell me the total is $485.00!! I reluctantly agreed only because I had so much time invested here. The more I thought about this the more my blood started to boil so I decided to return this a few weeks later and ask for my money back.
