I was scheduled for a 12:00 pm appointment and arrived early at 11:50 am. Someone who arrived several minutes after me was taken in first. When I asked why, I was told they had an earlier appointment, which didn't make sense based on the timing. When I was finally called in for the pre‑exam, the woman who assisted me was incredibly pleasant, patient, and made me feel comfortable. I really appreciated her professionalism. However, the experience changed when I was called into the main exam room by a woman named Oni. From the moment she called me back, her attitude felt dismissive and lacking compassion. I tried to explain that the glasses I'm currently wearing are not allowing me to see properly, but she cut me off and told me to wait and explain it to the doctor. The doctor, on the other hand, was wonderful--very understanding and attentive. She immediately recognized that the office didn't have my prescription and agreed to order the correct lenses. What bothered me was that Oni seemed ready to let me leave with the terrible vision I came in with. Only after I insisted and made it clear how unsafe it was for me to walk and drive like this did she finally message the doctor. Eventually, she gave me temporary contacts that were close to my prescription, but it felt like pulling teeth to get basic care. I left feeling upset because compassion should be part of the job, especially when dealing with patients who rely on you to see clearly. Not everyone realizes how much a small act of understanding can mean. I made sure to get her name because the difference in attitude between staff members was noticeable.

Went back to Odessa Vision Source this morning to have them check the glasses there and was told I would need an appointment with the eye doctor to have them checked - note I didn't want my eyes checked - I wanted to confirm my glasses were made to the prescription. Got to office and made appointment on line...they called this afternoon and said the prescription was correct and that my vision would be blurry due to cataracts. Well I guess I don't understand why I can see better with my old glasses than my new ones.....you would figure my cataracts would be worse since my old glasses are over a year old. No, it isn't the cheapest place in town but I need a more thorough eye exam than you get at the cheapest place. And yes, you have to wait for the glasses. A lot of things happening and then I had a flat tire. Found out Walmart will change a tire for free if you buy from them. I took my car there after work. Had a little bit of the typical Walmart experience.. ( the lines and all that). Come time to pay my credit card wouldn't work!! I went and got my check card all decided!! I didn't know what to do!! I was in a new place and everything wasn't working! My only option was to ask them to take the tire back. Turned out my bank had put a block on my accounts suspecting fraud! I found this out later but everyone in line was looking at me like I was just someone holding up the line. They moved me to a different line for guns and stuff and still everything got declined. The lady at the counter there out of nowhere offered to pay for me. I couldn't say no I needed the tire but I promised I would go back and pay once I figured out what was happening. I was so amazed that she offered that to me and I will be forever grateful!!! Her name is Cathy she is in the sports department!! What a way to show kindness!! My vision was too blurry and I needed a different prescription (I did not take the written one yet, I was in a trial pair that HE wanted me to try)! He kept saying things like, "Idk, you tell me" and "I told you what you should be wearing". Standing there with his arms crossed as if I was beneath him for having questions/issues with the prescription! Listen up doc, if your machine told you what I need, maybe somethings wrong, or maybe I have a problem eye like I told u on my first visit. I also told him what I wore for the past year and asked for that same prescription. But noooo, he wanted to puff out his chest and prove he could do something better for me. He can't do anything better than the last dr I went to. And I would have gone back to that doctor, but he is no longer in the office he was in last year. Couldn't find him, or I would have gone back to him again! First review comment: He's not a bad dr, but, come on! He has someone in another country answering his calls DURING THE DAY when they are in the office. I leave messages and nobody calls back or their people in another country hang up on you. If I can't reach them because of this and they won't call back, this is an issue. Patients should not have to drive to their office to get an issue taken care of, or to make a second appointment. Get off your lazy a_ _ and answer your own phones during the day. You aren't that busy.

It already took 45 minutes just for the technician to see me, and I thought the optometrist would surely see me soon after so I continued waiting. I should have left. I finally left 2 1/2 hours later. They don't respect your time. When the doctor finally met me, he insulted my glasses. He also didn't ask my goals for the appointment. Multiple times I had to correct him that I was not interested in glasses, I wanted contacts. I also received an an incorrect prescription. The prescription gave me a headache, which I told them about. They told me to try it out and it might have just been because I waited long. I still have a headache after multiple attempts of trying the new prescription. They also made numerous clerical mistakes and called me multiple times when I said I would be busy. They called me multiple times to confirm. I returned their call a few hours later, but they continued to call because they made a mistake copying my insurance down which I confirmed with them a week prior.
