The service in the store was a zero to none. Had to go to the front desk to get someone to come and give us information about different printers. Then they just read the labels on the machines the same as I could, then was going to return to her desk and I mentioned there was another woman needing assistance and she reluctantly went to see the other customer. The selection was good with many different well known companies and different models of each manufacturer. The sale prices were comparable to other stores offering the same machines. I went to Staples Orillia on Monday December 9 to get replacement ink cartridges for my printer. I found the proper cartridge but when checking the date I noted that it had expired on February of 2019 - nearly a year ago. I asked the clerk if there were any fresh cartridges in the back and he said 'No'. I told him that I wasn't going to pay full price for an expired cartridge but would take a chance on it if he would discount it. He said that he would not and added that my problem was with the manufacturer not with Staples. I pointed out to him that Staples was the store selling expired product and I left. Complaint against the Staples Head Office resulted in platitudes but no offer of any kind. I ordered the cartridge from Amazon and it arrived the next day. So long Staples! Needed a bunch of legal documents printed out. Sign on the counter said that, as of April 2 (today is the 18th), because they upgraded the self serve black and white machines to print from usb, the price for b&w copies was going up to 10c/page (more than I pay in other staples). I went from machine to machine but could find no USB port. The girl behind the counter directs me to use the Colour copier which charges 39c even if you select black and white! I called the manager who was, frankly, useless and has poor customer service skills - I had to ask if she was the manager (she never did tell me her name) and then actually explain that the sign is fraudulent and direct her to remove it from the counter. There was a half-assed apology and that was it from her - she had the gall to state that she didn't see what the problem is (clearly from a "gouging" POV, there isn't one!). The only way I could get anything printed was to pay $3 for the counter girl to do it plus 13c/page! On top of that, even though I explained they were legal documents, the girl left the document open in full public view for anyone to read. The least they could have done was waive the $3 handling fee but no - to hell with the customer. Never buy anything from Staples, especially this store. They do not follow their own return policy. I bought a Apple Watch SE from the store just before Christmas. It was opened and had a little chip of damage on the side of the watch. The store initially said they were not accepting returns during COVID lockdown and said the return policy would be extended. Later the stores started accepting returns, then we were told they would not accept a return for an exchange on the same product. The manager Crystal asked us why we waited so long to ask about a return, and we reminded her that we could not do a return after Christmas as the store told us they were not doing it. She tried to claim Apple would never send a product that is damaged or not working for them to sell. She said they do not take back apple products that have damage and said deal with Apple. We called Apple even though we did not accept that reason, and Apple said Staples was wrong and since we were within the return policy we should be able to get an exchange. We called the store again and Crystal once again was very unhelp. She continued to lie about the return policy. We contacted Staples Canada on Facebook and told them what happened, they confirmed the return policy and said the store was wrong for not accepting a return for an exchange. The store manager continued to lie. And when I repeated that their return policy was clear that no where are apple products excluded, even if there is damage. She said she didn't care what Staples or Apple said. She claimed she was Staples and knew more than me because I don't work for Staples. She was literally laughing on the phone, enjoying being unhelpful. We are contacting Staples corporate again to get a resolution. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

This store has a miserable supervisor/manager. I had my camera screen installed with their liquid armour screen protector and came back after 2 weeks because of the edges not properly installed (edges look like they are coming off). She said that they can't do anything about it and it must be the device not the screen protector lol. Her tone was miserable and sounded not willing to help or anything at all. The other staff were so nice but the boss. Must be having a rough day lol. read more
