I highly recommend Star diamonds. The owners are the kindest, honest professional Jeweler's I have ever encountered. I had a number of jewelry pieces appraised at a very reasonable price. My husband's wedding band needed to be resized an entire size down. It is platinum with two gold bands on either side and you cannot tell where the jeweler cut into it to resize it. It is absolutely beautiful. Their work is incredibly detailed. I had my wedding Solitaire stone set in a custom setting, which is absolutely beautiful. Pricing is okay. The service is horrible. They do not return phone calls. I first dealt with this store in 2004. I came back to have my wife's stone upgraded. The replacement came with an appraisal. I never received the appraisal. The owner (Carl) said it was done. He lied. It was never done. I called over a dozen time and only had two calls returned. The receipt they gave did not reflect what was done and had the wrong ring/setting. Carl said the receipt didn't matter since the appraisal would be coming. It had been almost six months. To this day I only have his word on the work that was done. Run don't walk to a different Jeweler. read more

My wife recently lost the .75ct marquis out of her wedding ring somewhere at the Harley shop. If that wasn't bad enough, her finger seemed to have "grown" over the past 16 years and no matter what she tried, the ring would not come off. So I broke out the wire cutters and proceeded to snip the band and spread it apart to get it off. It worked great but really left the ring looking like nothing but a piece of scrap gold. Later that week we decided to stop by Star Diamonds, on the way home from work, and see what it would take to replace the diamond and repair my destructive act. Upon entering the store we were met by Carl who showed us all of the marquis stones that he had available. Unfortunately, none of them seemed to compare to the one she lost. Carl completely understood what we were looking for and within three days had ordered 3 additional stones for us to check out, with no obligation from us. All of the stones were amazing. We decided on the perfect replacement and got a price from Carl to buy the stone, replace the crown with something stronger, replace one of the smaller stones in the set that had been lost previously and fix my mess. We were extremely happy when his price for the entire job was better than the price we had been quoted for a lesser quality stone, from one of the chain jewelers, that didn't include the repair costs. I also looked up the price of a comparable quality and size diamond on the internet and could not find anything close to the deal that Carl was making us. We made the deal with Carl, and one week later he called for us to come pick it up. When he showed us the ring we were absolutely amazed at the beautiful job that was done. There is no way that ring looked that good when it was brand new. I would highly recommend you give Carl the opportunity to see what he can do for you.
