Turned out, he was the owner of this company, his name is Rodney. This guy came to my house after 2 other techs had been here and AC still was not working properly. He told me i was being unreasonable to keep the house at 70F and that he keeps his at 79F. He stated he is the owner and he knows how things work. Also he said no AC unit in Columbia could cool a place down to 70. Funny thing is, last 2 summers it had no problem cooling down our house to 70F on a day in the 90s outside. He then walked out of dining room, through living room, and out front door and got in his car. I followed and asked him if he was leaving and he said yes. I asked how come. He said, i'm not going to stay and talk to someone who doesn't know how to listen. I told him it was rude of him to just walk out. The owner said, instead of the previous service tech who came a few days ago to the house, that service tech could have been helping someone who had a real problem and i wasted they're time. I said to the owner, On that note, i will say goodbye. They did not inspect anything. in fact, first service tech forgot to add refrigerant and had to come back a second time to add it. That is all they checked. If they would have looked at duck work where duck comes in, they would have seen a 2 inch by 2 feet whole of a gap that was not sealed up properly. I was offended by the owner but not the tech who came out. I would not support this company or give them any business based on how i was spoken to by the owner of the company while he was in my house. Hope this helps someone out there.

We moved into our new home and found that most of our finished basement was unusable. Our HVAC…read moresystem was installed about 8" from the wall with a cold air return opening into the main area. The main area consists of a full bar / kitchen, a listening area for music and 2 bedrooms and a bath. The problem is when the fan, heat or air was on the cold air return sounded like a "Shop Vac" making it impossible to listen to music or even have normal conversation. When we'd have family in they could hear it running in their bedrooms behind closed doors and found it hard to sleep. For almost a year whenever we used the downstairs living area we totally shut off the HVAC but unfortunately the rest of the house suffered durning the winter or summer months. Long story short we called several highly rated companies that had lots of feedback but they only remove or install. The guys a Royal said, "No problem". They came out and gave us reasonable bid, scheduled us the following week and spent 3-4 hours in the basement. They closed off the obnoxious cold air return and diverted it into one of the bedrooms and billiard area. Now the "Shop Vac" is dead quiet in ever area. Unbelievable difference...Truly. We are still baffled by the difference months later. We now entertain quit frequently and would highly recommend Royal Heating and Air. Andrew assessed the problem as a failed thermostat, replaced it, did the annual maintenance and was finished in a little over an hour.
