For a Mani, If you get Sawyer or the owners you get a great job, anyone else don't waste your time and money. Last time I was there I got a new guy and it was horrible. Thick and uneven, didn't use a base coat for adhereance, and didn't use a top coat for UV drying, needless to say they didn't last long and they started popping off like dime store glue on's which has not ever happened to me before. Second time I had this man, but never again. If they give me him, I will say no thank you and leave. read more

While they can do a good job, depending on the manicurist, my experiences over the past few years are very hit and miss. If you're a regular, they treat you great. If not, they don't. I have gone and he has spent the entire time doing my gel nails talking to the high school girls who were waiting, no conversation with me. I have had great pedi's and have had my toes cut. I used to have the best mani's from Marla but she's no longer there. The visiting guy the had was the best but probably went back upstate. Today I went and was told one customer in front of me, 30 minute wait. Ok, no problem. Then 10 minutes later another customer walks in. Says hi to the girl as she sits down to wait and pick out a color and congratulated the manicurist. Manicurist says "for what?" Your baby. "Oh that was seven months ago. Short chat about sleepless nights. Then manicurist stands up, goes to sign in sheet "oh [May] did you not sign in?" Woman says no. Manicurist proceeds to tell the other two of us who have been waiting that May was here earlier so she is bumped to the front and now it's at least an hour wait for me. No thanks. This is the third time I have tried to have my nails redone and something like this has happened. I'll find some place new. read more

I got my nails done today. They were mildly busy so I was patient. And then they completely ruined my nails when it was my turn. One of them is crooked and the woman who did them didn't let them slowly dry and just put the top coat on the wet nails. I've been there once before and had a great experience so I'm not sure what happened this time. Just not happy with the way they turned out. Tom normally does a fantastic job but I just didn't have him today. read more

This was not a great first experience. I waited for over an hour for a fill. . .which I didn't mind. What I did mind was that the first thing the nail technician said to me was "your previous fill is a mess. . .I'm not impressed". . this was followed by "but I will do the best with what I have to work with". Really? I wasn't there to hear a critique of my previous fill. Perhaps if you were more concerned with your dirty salon and snide, snotty employees you might not have time to insult a first time client. read more

This place is the best in town! The people there take time to be efficient, clean, respectful, and do exceptional work. Never have I left being less than satisfied. The employees are fun and make a good atmosphere to be in. Never do I feel ignored or like I don't matter by them constantly talking over me in a foreign language. The owners take pride in their work and always stand behind their products. I get compliments on my nails almost daily and who doesn't like compliments? :) I've been going there for over 5 years and will continue indefinitely. Absolutely the best experience I have had yet in Quincy. They are funny and it looks like a great place to work. My nails look great and my technician was great!! I will absolutely 100% be returning to have my nails done, and for a future pedicure. Only thing is the chairs could be a little more comfortable for manicures, but I would rather be a little less comfortable and whole lot more happy with my nails. I would recommend them to anyone who wants good quality, gorgeous nails. read more

So sad to leave this review because I LOVE the atmosphere at Star as well as the staff BUT I went in recently on a Friday and had "no chip" put on my nails, by Monday(3days later) two nails were chipped and by Tuesday whole nails peeled off. I didn't even get a whole week out of the "no chip" and I am really bummed because in the past I have had great experiences with the quality at Star. read more

My mom and I have been coming here for years to get pedicures whenever we need a little girl time. We were there today and I have to say I love the decor. The place is clean and vibrant and doesn't look old or cluttered the way some nail salons do. All the staff I've ever spoken to are super friendly and always do a fabulous job. They to make appointments, which I recommend doing on Saturdays or for things like prom or graduation, but if you're just feeling like having your nails done on a Wednesday night, they also take walk-ins which is fantastic. Overall Star Nails is a great place to relax and get your nails done in Quincy. read more

Star Nails always goes above and beyond to make the customer happy. They are ahead of the rest in Quincy and the surrounding area by far. Whatever your nail needs, they can make it happen. I've come in several times with new fun nail designs and ideas, and they were more than willing to give everyone of them a shot. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THIS SALON FOR 8 MONTHS. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK AFTER MY LAST 2 EXPERIENCES. Both times I was assigned to new employees and they did a horrible job. Yesterday my appointment was at 2 and it was 2:45 BEFORE THEY STARTED ON MY PEDICURE. I also had a no chip manicure and it was 4:18 when I walked out the door. Besides taking so long the young man (Ben) cut into my skin around the nails when he was using the tool to remove my old polish. I kept saying ouch and he just kept going. One of the owners was sitting right next to us and said nothing to me. I have 8 places around my cuticles that are cut. A couple of them are really bad. It hurts when I wash my hands in hot water. I would suggest if they know they have someone coming in that has an appointment that they not take walk in customers if it means people that took the time to make an appointment are going to be inconvenienced. Also they need to make sure new employees know what they are doing. By the time I left I was so upset with myself because I didn't complain to the owners!!! read more
