I have given this business a try time after time. The previous owner was excellent... every time I go in with an open mind n try to take in consideration ther new owners and our world today. (You now have been in our town 3 years) And without failer I wait 45 minutes or longer! Just to be put in a chair... today they say there was a no show of an employee... but maybe after 15 minutes they could of said something to me the paying customer. Why would they not let me in on what's happening????? My app. Was at 930 I sat tilI 10 then they put me in a chair with cold water n I sat for another 15 minutes n not one word from none of them ! I will never return.... N I was a loyal coustmer for over 10 years with previous owner... Please if you pay no attention to this at least start greeting your customers when they walk in the door! Acknowledgment from an owner can go so far! (So disappointed) My family and I try our hardest to support local businesses but this kind of crap makes it impossible. read more

I really like this place. They are super friendly family owed and ran. They are laid back and take time to take care of you on your appointment, I never feel rushed like in some of the nail places. I have a skin condition and they are very gentle, kind and never make me feel unwelcome. I have been going to Star Nails for many years; I've lost track of how long it's been, but it's well over 10 years. Tony, Trinity & Jen were my go-to's before, and now it's Tyler & Hannah. I absolutely love them. They are both just as careful as Tony & Trinity always were to get my nails even, flawless, and make sure they're in great shape. I rarely if ever break a nail or have one lift. I appreciate, too, that they work on Sundays (although I worry they're overworking themselves!) and never have turned me away when I've been running late. They're very busy so I would recommend appointments vs. walk-ins, although I've seen them accommodate plenty of people without appointments. read more

I'm new to Ridgecrest and was in need of fills and a pedicure. It's always hard starting over with a new place, so I use Yelp (to some degree) to help. I called Star Nails late this morning to see if I could get an appointment and was told I could come at 2:00-great! I arrived early so I could pick out a color, which they have a TON of!! Even with my appointment I still waited 20-25 minutes, I wasn't in a hurry, so I was ok with it. I started with Tyler for my fills (acrylic over my natural nail), I explained exactly what I wanted and he did exactly what I wanted, even confirmed with me to make sure.Tyler did a great job, I would definitely have him do my nails again! Next came my pedicure with Summer. I again explained exactly what I wanted and she got to work. I didn't feel rushed (even though they had gotten very busy), Summer paid attention to the details and did a good pedicure. Sorry, but I have to leave a poor review. I had a spa pedicure from Jenn which turned out fine, but the gel manicure I had with Tiffany was the worst manicure I have ever had. Within a couple of days, it already started peeling off. Worse, she was so aggressive with the cuticle clippers that I was bleeding from three different fingers. Ouch!! That HURT!! One finger continued to bleed the next day or two, and ALL of my nail beds were inflamed near the cuticles. The dried blood embedded in my cuticles was quite unsightly and obviously negated the whole purpose of getting a manicure. I looked worse than if I hadn't gotten a manicure at all - and I wish I hadn't! read more

First time going to Star Nails. Went in to have a gel manicure. The place is dirty. Although the instruments used were fresh out of an autoclave bag (opened in front of me), I didn't see any signs of anything being disinfectEd between clients. In fact, the technician lowered his mask, wiped his nose on his hand, then on his pants, and proceeded to work on my nails, without so much as using hand sanitizer! Then once I get home, an hour after he finished my nails, and they're still tacky. I've NEVER had gels do that before. First and last time I will go to Star Nails! read more

I've waited over an hour for them to start my nails when I made an appointment several days prior. Today I waited an hour, with an appointment, for a quick pedicure and finally walked out. In addition, none of the technicians are friendly and the few times I've had my nails done here, my technician seemed very annoyed and was on his phone throughout the appointment. What a huge disappointment!! Decided to get pampered for my birthday, so I chose to go to Star Nails. I wanted to get a pedicure, full set and eyebrows done. I sat down put my feet in the water, only to be told the tech would be with me after she completed the nail set she was doing. As I waited, the water got cold. I complimented another tech on her skills, and she never spoke. I thought, ok maybe she doesn't speak English. Not the case, cause she talked to everyone else that came in, and smiled! Okay, then the tech that came to do my feet, hardly spoke. I mean, no greeting or nothing! Then it seem like she rushed doing my feet. At this point, I'm thinking... they must not want my business!! I wanted french tip on my toes but I decided against it. I just wanted to be done with them. As, my tech goes to start on someone else's feet, she introduces herself to that customer, she actually spoke to her. HMMM... now, the only thing left for me to wonder is if they have an issue with me personally, or my complexion.. Either way, very unprofessional, very disappointing, and they made it very clear that they pick and choose the customers they prefer. This Hard working couple is doing waxing, manicures, pedicures and other nail services. It had been a couple months since I had the time for a pedicure and the last salon I went to had closed, so my feet were in bad shape. Trying somewhere new is always scary, but this was a delightful experience. The salon is spotless and the work is very professional. I wasn't kept waiting, and I left with pretty toes, smooth heels and massaged back and calves. They can do all the fancy artwork and have a huge selection of polish colors. The worse service I have received in my life at a nail salon. I had an appointment with Tony but the minute I got there he was making snide remarks about why I didn't tell him that I had nails on that had to come off before he put on a new set. He started being real rough trying to take off the nails. He kept saying why I didn't tell him about the nails and now it's going to take 10 extra minutes to take them off. He kept saying he doesn't have time even though I had an appointment. He was so rude and made me feel so bad by telling me I should go to another salon to finish my nails. In the meantime he was so rough with the machine on my nails that it was very painful. I had to leave finally as is; I couldn't take his roughness and rudeness. It's a small salon, and their services are normal for their size. The employees are so friendly and funny, and the girl who I usually get for a pedicure always trims my nails to just the right length and shape! And the paint always last several weeks, and for a constant outdoor flip flop wearer like me, that's impressive. I especially love how when you enter they treat you like family. Their daughter is always hanging out, and I've had a lot of fun talking to her about Ariel, or the beetles that live out in the desert.
