I took off work and found out he was out of office for 3 weeks and had a PA scheduled. I told front office desk, who had as much attitude and arrogance as Dr. Anderson, that the scheduler to me I had an appt with him because I had questions on my MRI. She said "oh, he does that... he sometimes reassigns patients to his PA" So they "lie" or misrepresent that you will see a doctor. Not surprising, there was no office manager to meet with, so I left and scheduled with Dr. Pagnani who has wonderful reviews. Patient beware!!

They set up a payment plan where they deducted $100 a month until it was paid. The final payment in September should have been about $58. Instead they deducted $100 again. I called and spoke to the billing department on 9/18 and the woman said, "Oh yes, that's not right. The refund department will get that back to you in about 2 weeks." That kind of annoyed me since they were the ones that overdrew the money, but it was $40. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it. Fast forward to October 9th. I hadn't seen anything in my account so I called again. The billing agent said she would speak to the refund department and the money would be back in my account. I called again on the 12th and asked for refunds. The refund person told me that I would have to be issued a check since they "don't have all my account info." I should get the check soon. October 19th, still no check. I called and left a message for the manager of refunds. I get a call 10/20 from a refund person, "The check was issued on 10/11. You should have it soon." I called 10/23 (Still no check), and the refunds manager said she was out as was the CFO who signs checks on the 11th and the check was actually mailed the 19th (OVER A MONTH AFTER THE PAYMENT WAS TAKEN). I should have it today or tomorrow. I will never set up a direct withdrawal payment again. This is beyond ridiculous.

Today was my first doctor appointment with Dr.Shell at St. Thomas Medical Plaza…read more I've been in terrible pain with my knee since an ER visit last week at the Emergency room ; they referred me to Dr. Shell. (I thought I was facing knee replacement so I've been stressed on top of the pain. ) Dr. Shell treated me today. I had about a 30 minute wait in the lobby, and maybe 5 minutes in the exam room. After the doctor talked to me about my ongoing problem, he assured me he was not going to "jump into surgery". He believes in trying alternate solutions first ( THANK GOD) . What should have been a very painful procedure ~wasn't. Dr Shell used a very quick numbing medicine and treated my knee. I had instant relief after about 13 days of terrible pain, and was out of there in less than 15 minutes after I met him. He recommended 2 more days of rest off the leg and things should be back to normal. Dr. Shell is quiet, straight-to-the-point, and a GREAT DOCTOR.

He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced as a spine surgeon and a superb surgical technician. The outcome you want from a spine surgeon is a durable repair that alleviates symptoms as doesn't lead to early reoperation. How is office is running on a particular do is irrelevant. I have happened never to have to wait more than 20-30 minutes, but if it took two hours to get access to his expertise, well I've got my iPhone to keep me company.
