Shelby is the perfect hostess, greeting us late night with a warm welcome, a cup of tea (.....and a glass of wine)... we had decided we wanted to try the yoga class in the morning and Shelby prearranged that for us. Walking up to our room Shelby let us know there would be home baked breakfast bread and fruit in the am out for us. Our room was really nicely designed, our bed so comfortable, and brand new. We slept very well, and joined the yoga class in the am before we took off for our day trip adventure. Again, arriving that night to a glass of wine, calm lighting and beautiful space Ps. That yoga class was one of the best we have done. My only regret is that we didn't have time to get acupuncture. Shelby is well known in the region for her amazing skill in that dept. Next time for sure!!!!! We really enjoyed ourselves!!!!

I exclusively get my hair cut in Buffalo at Tonic Hair Salon, but I was in need of a bang trim and decided I would trust a professional, instead of doing it myself. Big mistake. Once I arrived, there was no friendly greeting, just a sign in, and my hair stylist whom I was not sure if she worked the desk or was my hair stylist told me to follow her. So, I guess she was my stylist. She never introduced herself, or asked me anything about myself. She seemed very young and inexperienced. I showed her a reference photo of how I wanted my bangs (asymmetrical) and she said she understood. If she hadn't, I would have gotten something else. She didn't ask me which way I wanted my bangs or how I part my hair so when she started working from the wrong side, I had to correct her. Not a big deal, but you should ask if you want sides-wept or asymetrical. I have cowlicks and I doubt she even noticed, which is something you need to take into consideration. She started cutting and did it all wrong because she assumed I wanted what she had (looked nothing like the picture). I even showed her multiple pictures of the same model so she could see the bang cut and styled in different ways from different angles. She called over another stylist. At this time, the other stylist wanted her razor and still did not do what I wanted. She actually started to pull other sections from my hair to cut them without consulting me. I had to say to her "You're not planning on cutting that, right?" and she said it should be part of my bangs. I told her not to. I didn't want my hair to be even more messed up and I trust my old stylist enough to know that those very long pieces (I have long hair) should not be part of my bangs. She finished the cut, walked away and the first stylist straightened them and asked me if they were ok. Honestly, they weren't. When I looked at them in my car I saw they were super choppy in a not intentional way. She cut off too much in one section. And she did no layering or point cutting to soften it or make them fuller. It was honestly just like my dad did when I was a child and he is by no means a stylist. I ended up stopping at Wal-Mart and picked up some sheers so I could fix it. It's still not perfect, but it's better than it was. I have learned to just wait to go to my trusted stylist. Also, in terms of atmosphere, the place was nearly dead on a Saturday mid-day. There were only two stylists working. There was a fly that kept trying to land on the coffee that I brought and I kept shooing it away. Not once did either of the stylists apologize about the bug or try to get it away from my coffee. I know I have high standards, but I think everyone should hold themselves to high standards. In an area like this, with very little competition some businesses don't try and do not keep up with industry trends. If you can't even do a bang trim, you shouldn't be a stylist.

I never asked for it to be blonde blonde I just wanted highlights. I kid you not Gary and Aileen's melted my hair within 7 minutes lmao. With knowledge of what I've done to my hair in the past, the hairdresser also told me I had healthy hair when she first touched it. and I'm only posting about them now because they tried to say it was my fault because I bleached my hair months ago. Idk who anyone's trying to fool I've been doing my own hair since I was 11 and I've never had my hair melt on the first application of bleach in 30 minutes so. Pls tell me more about how it's my fault then they over charged me to fix it with toner. My blonde highlights aren't visible because they melted the strands all the way to about 2 inches. Oh and the best part about this is Abby decided to blow dry my hair upwards from the underneath of my hair and made it into a puffy unmanageable mess where tf did you get your license honestly I could've done better with a 10$ kit from Walmart at least I'd still have my hair health. I do not recommend going to their salon. They refuse to admit when they did wrong. Oh and I did time the process bc I was texting my friend during it. Molly has thick hair herself and knows how to cut, layer and deal with my thick hair perfectly. Christine is amazing at coloring hair and did my prom hair last year and it turned out amazing. Both can read people pretty well and understand what you are asking for and if you aren't in to talking a lot during your appointment they totally understand and won't make you uncomfortable. Love this place and it's the only place I'll go for my hair in the North Country!

Even under warranty, I have had issues with both machines. They're business hours are posted! I arrived at 8:30pm with ONE LOAD OF CLOTHES to dry. Upon entering, the "assumed" owner starts shouting, we close at 9pm! I said yes mam, I am aware. I will not hold you up. "Why do you come so late?" I am a single mother who works full time! Again reassuring her. I will not hold you up. If you don't want to stay the hours you post , change your hours! Unbelievably rude! I was out the door at 8:55pm, Don't publish what you are not willing to do! Doesn't cost a dime to be nice! Possible competitor coming soon!!!!
