First off to start this review, I have been here many times before to purchase mainly Cherry Vodka, which is a family favorite. They also have plenty of selections from Wine to beer, to whiskey and more! They even have mini bottles near the register! So went here on Saturday May 24th 2025 with my dad to purchase a bottle of Cherry Vodka for a memorial day event we were going to. We easily found the cherry vodka, and the brand we wanted which was absolut. (They also have other brands as well.) We then went to the cashier, who was polite and checked us out. Terrible customer service. I asked for a drink, the cashier saw they had 10 in stock and told a coworker to help me. He ignored me to keep chatting with his coworkers and sarcastically asked, "Do you really want it?" instead of helping. I left without the drink, and all I got was, "Have a good night." Hands down the best liquor store I have ever been to. They literally have everything and more!! They have way too much options in a good way. I love love this store. The selections are amazing and they even have entire table of wine for 5$. Seriously if you're in the area just go in you won't regret it. I have been a customer since 1996. In the past two years I see a serious decline in customer service and courtesy. I recently stood on line for ten minutes holding several bottles and being ignored while four cashiers were at the counter and only one register was open. Neighbors of mine have also commented as well. The new young cashiers in my opinion are lazy and rude. I think it is time for me to take my business elsewhere. There are several other liquor stores in Monroe, all of which treat the customers with courtesy and respect. read more

They have a great product selection, but little pricey compared to when I get my liquor from Rockland county, but it's whatever though. I will use them while I'm here, but I'll rather make a trip to Rockland since where I go is always cheaper. Other than that I'll use them if need be at times. The one problem I seem to have when I go there is they always ask me if I need help, but let someone else of a different race walk by I never hear them ask if they need help. The nastiest phone customer service I have ever encountered, and I live in New York City. Granted, I had a problem on an order that would considered small by their standards and possibly not worth it, but the hostility and rudeness by which I was confronted pretty much off-the-bat shocked me. I have been a customer at star liquors for the past 4 years since I moved to Monroe, NY. I am a rewards customer and have always sent friends to the store, and recommend this store very highly. I will never go to this store again! I played my lotto there and won $26.00 and played again the $26.00 I won. The cashier didn't know what she was doing and ask another person to help her, she was mixing up the tickets adding wrong numbers and when they finally got it right, she said I owed $18.00 dollars more. I said how could that be I won $26.00, so I was rushing and didn't count my tickets until I got home, and I was right I was overcharged $18.00. I called and ask for manager and the cashier would not put her on the phone, I was told they would check machine and see if it was a overage. No one called me back so I went to the store to speak to Manager and was told there was no overage what do you want me do? My cashier would not steal, so where is my money I didn't have to go back if I was wrong, so they got over on me. Please check your orders and your lotto tickets before you leave. I Love Star Wines and Liquors! HUGE selection of wine and liquor. Prices are great! Haven't seen better prices in multiple stores throughout the county and even Rockland and Bergen Counties. They also offer a rewards program. Complimentary wine tastings are offered weekly, with larger tastings offered several times per year. Staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They frequently offer sales on popular wines and also have signs throughout of "staff picks." There is a $5 wine table where you can grab a bottle of wine for cheap. NYS lotto is offered and there is an impressive scratch off selection. read more

They also operate an internet store, from which I ordered a case of wine. The order was cancelled by the store, and when I contacted them, I was told they entered the wrong price on their web site, and they would not sell the product at the advertised price. There was no written follow up from them, as promised, and no other offer at the "correct" price. Four days later, the "incorrect" price still shows on their site. Since they would not honor the posted price, it leads me to question their business practices. read more

The only serious wine store in Orange County? Perhaps. They stock a great range of international wines and the choice is extensive. I don't know of any other stores that can compete. Staff are friendly. The wine tastings are fun also. read more

I ordered four bottles of wine (2 Italian, 2 French) as a business "thank you," and am quite pleased with the website, the shipping, and the overall transaction. I knew which wines I wanted, and after much research, decided on Star Wines because they have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, they seemed customer-service oriented, and they stated on their site that they send you a confirmation of your order with a tracking number and expected date of delivery (they did, and it was delivered as promised). If you go on their "About Us" page, they offer customized gift baskets and free gift wrapping. I did not call them for either service, but liked that these options were available. They ship to most, but not all states. The excluded states are listed on their "Shipping Info/Returns" page. They can deliver to California, so that worked for me. The recipients of the wine seemed pleased. One of them was a fine wine consultant and broker for 11 years, and she said that, "I absolutely appreciate these wines and understand how fantastic they are!" So if the recipients are happy, I'm happy, and I thank Star Wines for playing a role in that! read more

This is my favorite wine shop. They have a great and extensive selection of wines. I have found many types of wine that I didn't hikn were available in this area at this store. Twice a year they host a grand tasting event in which local wine reps sample tons of their products...it is a lot of fun. read more
