Amazing wines, great views live music, perfect for a family fun day! I loved the wines, the vibe, and the music. It's laid back with great views. They have picnic tables set up around the winery and a huge play area with activities for children to run and play. They have a variety of wines and ciders, from dry to sweet. The ciders were very unique, and I enjoyed just about all of them. My favorite wine was the DeChaunac Rose! This winery had more entertainment than some of the others I have been to in the area. It had a fun vibe. The owners were friendly and professional. They came over and introduced themselves and made sure everyone was having a good time. The views are stunning. The scenery is relaxing. 9/17/22 Visit: Quartz Rock used to be Glorie Vineyard prior to 2022. Each winery has its own personality. Quartz Rock Wines are very unique. Quartz Rock offers 3 wine flights: 1. Premium Dry $25, 2. A Little of Everything $20 3. Sweet and Fruit $20. We had the Premium Dry Flight. Pleasantly surprised with the Noiret. It had a Green Pepper bite to it. I think it would complement pork well. Desiree was a delightful wine server. She was very knowledgeable about the wines. Foods from Poland and Slovakia are available for purchase. Many picnic tables are available for outside seating. Loved this place! Super lowkey, but service was amazing. My friend and I each got flights, and every time, the server would approach us at the perfect time for the next tasting. We were also given water bottles to rinse. My favorite was the rose! I forget the exact details about it, but it was pleasantly tart and refreshing. Such a beautiful place! They had live music when we came too. It was our first time here and we did a wine tasting and a cider tasting. They do table service here so they give you a glass and menus, you find a table and they pour the tastings for you a glass at a time. The wines and ciders were yummy and the service was great! My cousins and I have loved Glorie wines for years. So yesterday we decided to take a trip up to the farm for an in person visit. We were so pleasantly surprised by our visit. The fire pit was an amazing touch. To sit next to the fire, feel the breeze, sip on our wine, and make our s'mores was perfect. All while sharing laughs together. We were glad we reserved the time. The only small tweak I would suggest is a little extra chocolate for larger groups for smores. :) We each received a glass for our wine and pear. A great touch! The views were amazing looking down over the valley with the changing leaves. The apple trees were an additional backdrop to look at. Beautiful. We purchased empanadas which we all enjoyed. And the bacalaitos. They were made to order and nice and hot. A friend was celebrating her 50th birthday and treated to a shot of gin. Very nice! There were tables for tastings and everyone seemed to enjoy. Some were under tarps and some under the sun. A variety of wines are available for purchase. We were sad not to purchase more Pearble but happy to find a few favorite, Candy Ass Red. Really good! We will be back for another visit. My cousins and i are long time fans. Yesterday took it over the top! Tip: Wear comfy shoes for the mini hills and be ready to have a fabulous time. read more

Wow! My husband follows them on Instagram, and we happen to be in the area so we decided to check it out! It's a beautiful drive to get there. The vineyard is on a hill with the most beautiful views! The staff is super friendly and chill! Great service. We got there about two hours to close, and it wasn't crowded at all. You could bring your own food, or they have small charcuterie plates. Their wine is delicious. I don't like dry wines, but they do have a bunch if that's your palate of choice. The semi dry wasn't bone dry and the sweet wines are really good! We did a tasting. And I loved all their sweet wines even their dessert wine is a must try! This is one of my favorite vineyards in the Hudson valley! Highly recommend this place! read more

This was our first visit to a Hudson Valley winery since moving to Manhattan last year. We're from the Bay Area and love love our wine tasting. This was SUCH a surprise. Family-run and intimate with great views and really surprising wines. They're doing cool things with sour wines, some strawberry wine, and semi-sweet wines, but they also have a great selection of SUPER dry wines (my fave). I was very impressed with the quality and we got to talk to their assistant wine maker for a lot of cool deets. Stephanie helped us out and provided excellent service. Taryn is absolutely amazing!!!! My husband and I came for the first time back in December 2022. I was really surprised that Taryn remembered us, and made us feel so welcomed as she did our first time, it was like not seeing a friend for a long time! Taryn was very knowledgeable, friendly and very funny. We told our other friends that they need to come with us next time we brought them, and they were not disappointed. The music by Glassy Honk was great! I love the view, absolutely beautiful! I love how small and secluded the area is, which makes it unique and a more intimate setting! The wine was good but the service was great! We visited this winery with a group of ~20 on a party bus for my birthday. We sat outside and were greeted immediately by someone who brought us glasses and took our order for bottles. The outdoors are beautiful with hills for the younger kids to play on and run around. There are a lot of tables and even a fire pit. This winery was laid back, family friendly and the perfect place to stay all afternoon. What blew me away was that a week after visiting, I realized I had left my jacket behind and called to ask if they found it. Karen knew exactly what jacket I was referring to and told me she'd put it aside. One of the owners, Jacqui, went out of her way to ship the jacket back to me since I live an hour+ away. Excellent service is hard to come by and for this and the wine, I will definitely be returning to support this business and recommend that others visit, too! read more

Gorgeous views after an adventurous ride up the driveway. $6 cash/ $8 debit for 6 tastes of wine and you keep the glass. I had a glass of Rumple Pumpkin, hubs had the Jibber Jabber, both estate wines $7.41 each with tax. The husband followed it up with a glass of Candy Ass Red. The wines are great here and I loved the descriptions. I really just loved everything about this place. Family owned and operated, lovely view, friendly staff, and great wines. The guy who poured us the wine was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed talking with him and learning about the property and history. They grow 90% of the grapes they use in their wines and also grow apples. Glorie is the last name of a husband/wife team who owns the winery. Mr. Glorie was driving his tractor around outside and still does the harvesting and farm work around his property. Left with a few bottles of wine. It's a pretty neat place to check out! read more

Interesting winery. Challenging to find, as we passed a few wineries before them we worried we were in the wrong location. Then we found a sign, but had to follow a strange dirt road up a hill. We checked in with our passport (normally $8 for 6), and we got to pick 6 wines each. They had a lot of choices, almost overwhelming, and somewhat all over the place. Delightful pourers, we had a great time running through the tasting, they were pleasant and nice to chat with, but my low rating is because: -smaller pours -lack of knowledge when asked to describe wines -meh wines, but we did find one we liked and took home -layout is confusing, the bathroom is down the hill We tried: -Seyval: cheap popcorn butter smell and taste -Chardonnay: just no -Lunar Moon: more cayuga-so very sweet -Jumpin Jazz: plain -Pearaple: like a Thanksgiving wine only -Red Monkey: nice peppery aftertaste (this is the bottle we bought-for $15 why not, we can share with people) -Pinot: too light -Cab Franc: average table wine -Chambourcin: smelled overly berry-like, but finished heavy -Marquette: spicy smell, missed the mark on taste -Jibber Jabber: light port wanna-be -Synergy: oakey blend They adorably take pride in their winery, I enjoyed the experience there, but didn't enjoy the wine. read more

There are literally dozens of wineries in the Hudson Valley and this one is a favorite. Up the mountain with gorgeous views of the valley, the wine selection has matured from the fruity and sweet selection of Glorie. The Cab Franc is fantastic and the Vidal Blanc is a nice, acidic white. The owners are wonderful people, they hire a professional, respectful staff and rotate food vendors and musicians. This is one of the wineries not totally overrun yet, it's perfect for a relaxing afternoon, and one of the local's favorites. read more

My wife, friend, and I make a trip to Glorie Farm every year on our annual apple picking trip upstate from NYC. It is a must for us! From the very first time we visited for years ago, we have been treated so well, hearing about stories behind each wine and each grape. The last time we went, Paul was taking us through the tasting, telling jokes the entire time. And every time we go, we have to take a picture at their picnic table, because THAT VIEW tho! I visited Glorie Winery with a group of friends, and was impressed on all fronts. For COVID safety, the winery is doing outdoor tastings at picnic tables with shade structures above them. Staff come out in masks to your table to do the pours, and provide an apple to eat for each person doing a wine tasting. Restrooms are available and are clean. It's a beautiful setting and feels pretty relaxing. Empanadas Nirvana has a small shack that sells empanadas and some other snacks if you get hungry--they're delicious! Also, if you want to add more wines to your tasting instead of sticking with the standard choices, you can do so for a nominal fee. The wines themselves are tasty and well-balanced in flavor. They offer a broad range of varietals, and have a price range from $15 to $37 per bottle. Note that most of their reds tend to be on the lighter-bodied side; if you prefer heavier body, go for some of the Cabernet Francs and the Bordeaux blend they make. read more

This was truly a bright light in a dark year of covid. It was a beautiful day, the wine was amazing, they had a strawberry wine that was awesome, I enjoyed the black currant and blackberry ones so much we bought 2 of each! I was worried about going out but I felt so safe here today. I watched the staff constantly cleaning bottles, tables etc.. everyone had a mask on even a few toddlers...looked so cute. Such a beautiful winery with delicious wines. The workers all took such care to ensure the safety of their customers. Tables were sanitized in between uses and well spaced from each other, everyone was masked and wearing gloves. There's a food shack, empanadas, and music. The view is just spectacular. I can't think of a better way to spend the weekend. Try the Grapes and Strawberry wine or Luna. Two of my favorites. There's also fruit you can purchase and some cute gifts. Thank goodness for the wine trail signs and my GPS, because this is a bit more of a challenging winery to find. It's a small, nice winery, and I hope it has some options to grow in the future. The shop, tasting area, and outdoor seating area are somewhat small, and I'm not sure where the bathroom might be. The website also shows pictures of 2 adorable chocolate labs, who unfortunately were not around today. I really enjoyed the wine tasting ($5 for 5 was reasonable) and chatting with the gentleman giving us the tastings. Their Riesling is probably my favorite of that type among all the Hudson Valley Wineries, and that alone would be enough reason for me to return on a regular basis - definitely consider the fall, because the view to the east is beautiful, and because by then their Rumple Pumpkin will again be in stock. read more

This winery has been one of our area favorites for some time now. Yesterday was our first visit during COVID. The main tasting room is temporarily closed. I felt that the staff did all they could to maintain safety. There were picnic tables (with canopies) that were well separated. A reservation is recommended to secure space when you want to visit. The times of the reservations are spaced out well. Rest rooms appeared to be clean and all staff wore masks. There was an empanada vendor present the day of our visit - their food was excellent and reasonably prices. You can also bring your own food. As for the wine - we really love their sweet white wines - perfect for a warm afternoon. Their reds are very good as well. We generally enjoy all of their offerings - just some more than others!
