Got a Brazilian wax here and the woman who answered the door for me and the woman who gave me the wax were both so kind! My Spanish is pretty bad but they were both very patient with me. I was excited to see that I was receiving a sugaring style wax which I tend to prefer. Usually sugaring is much more expensive than a normal style wax, and so I was really pleased with the cheap price and the great service. The woman waxing me made sure to use tweezers to pluck a few hairs that didn't come up. She was very thorough! I was very pleased. One thing to know is that there isn't much signage telling you where to go in the building. You just go through the big front door and climb all the way to the very top and there you'll see the sign right in front of the door, and then you ring the doorbell and they let you in. Unfortunately there is no elevator so it's not disability accessible, but if you are able, don't let the hike to the top deter you from visiting this sweet, clean, and comfortable little shop :) read more

I'm currently traveling trough Europe. Usually I have my waxing studio at home that I go to every 4-5 weeks. I decided to check out Star & Sun for a full brazilian und upper legs waxing, since it was time for waxing again. Looking back I would have never done this again. In my opinion it was very unhygienic and the staff member was unfriendly. The room was dirty, wax was everywhere ( even on my clothes later on ), she didn't use gloves the whole time and she used over and over the same wooden stick to apply the wax on my skin. Not even all of that.. I'm very hairy and have complexes about that as well. The staff member made me feel very uncomfortable with her comments about my hair and also her facial expression during the whole sitting. I have now bruises in between my legs from the waxing. This has never happened to me before. I've been waxing now for almost two years. Thanks for this experience. I'm now appreciating the lady from home even more. I will give one star, because I was able to make the appointment via WhatsApp and this worked out very nice. read more

I don't like to post negative reviews, however, I went to this place specifically because of the positive Yelp reviews and I was severely disappointed. It was completely unhygienic - the floors were dirty, I was laying on used towels with only a small paper sheet under my bottom, the wax machine was disgusting (looked as though it was never cleaned), she reused the same stick the whole time, and she didn't wear gloves. I was also appalled at how she waxed me. She didn't let the wax dry and was painfully and slowly ripping the wet wax off of me. I normally go to European Wax Center in the states and those are my standards. Although yes it is a cheaper option, I will not be coming back here and do not want other Yelp users (probably Americans) to be misled. read more

This massage place is pretty decent for a good price compared to American places. The lady I had did exactly what I asked for and I felt great coming out. This place is very hard to find and maybe yelp should be updated with a better description on how to find the place. However the receptionist came down and out to the street and found me. Great service. Another down side was the massage table was very hard and the face cradle ended up hurting my head since it wasn't really cushioned... just a towel. I went to get a Brazilian wax and a lip wax done. The Brazilian was done well. I don't think it was the best experience, but it wasn't bad. Only that they didn't aim for perfection. I also left the place with small spots of wax still on me... As for the lip wax, I think it would've been better if I bought an at home kit... I still have red bumps and it is a week after not to mention she only got about half of the hair. The lady attending me was nice though. read more

I am studying abroad in Madrid for the summer & needed a place that did full Brazilian waxes. I found The Cool Company and was VERY happy to find out they used hard wax, like I am used to. I just emailed them for an appointment (in Spanish) and they gave me a time, and it was that easy! The wax took about 30 minutes and since I get them all the time, it wasn't painful for me. am a student studying abroad and I needed a place to get my eyebrows done. After I did some research I found this place and was very satisfied! I went in for "Cera caliente" which is hot wax, and got my eyebrows and lip done. The europeans do a different wax method from America, where they put this thick black wax on, it hardens, then they rip that off. I found it to be less painful and more effective. Everything came out great, and the staff was very friendly! There prices are very reasonable. The place is quiet, simple, and clean. It is in the Tio Pepe building in Sol, walk right in, go to the 5th floor and turn right out of the elevator and you will see it. Email them (in spanish) to make an appointment! Not the best service or quality. One of the ladies spilled something all over one of my sandals, ruining the leather on it and creating spots all over it. They kept saying it wasn't them and refused to do anything about it or provide any bit of compensation. On top of it, actual manicure and pedicure was sloppy and way too overpriced for something that was hardly mediocre. Wish I could give 0 stars. Came here to get my lip waxed, and the woman did not know what she was doing. Did not use hot enough wax, so therefore proceeded to tweeze my upper lip to death. When that wasn't working, she finally used a different wax that worked right away, but it was too late, my lips were destroyed, and now I have scarring. AVOID THIS PLACE! read more
