They told me it would be a $75 rescheduling fee which is absolutely crazy nor did I know anything about this fee people should not be penalized because life events. I also have MS which I had also told them which had nothing to do with this particular circumstance. But if there was a chance that I had a flare up and I couldn't make it, did that mean every time I was going to be charged $75 I could see $25. I could see something reasonable but 75 just seems so greedy. So to say the least I did not go. I exchanged a few emails with the dentist himself but he had no empathy or compassion, whatsoever

I had a non-emergency but nevertheless urgent problem with a broken molar. Although like most practices they schedule many weeks out, they got me in in just a few days' time. I certainly expected to have a crown or root canal but through Dr. Shinay's artistry the tooth was refilled and repaired, saving me time, anxiety and lotsa $$$. Plus, he's a great, warm, friendly guy! If you don't like going to the dentist (hands?) I highly recommend this service-oriented practice. They took my Delta Dental Insurance and will bill me for any copay. How cool is that? If they had a sixth star on top, I'd give it to them.

With all that said, and the fact that it had definitely been a minute since an orthodontics appointment, Southern Maine Orthodontics made me feel welcome and informed every step of the way. The front desk staff were extremely thorough and informed when explaining my insurance coverage over the phone prior to my appointment. Once there, the dental technicians were friendly and gentle and made me feel comfortable. And finally Dr. Murphy was a really funny and skilled orthodontist who replaced my retainer in no time at all. It was literally fun, easy, cheap, and painless! Afterwards, Dr. Murphy recommended Invisalign which I admitted wasn't affordable to me now, but he made a plan to work with me if I chose to get it at a later date. I often dread the dentist, and I was worried about replacing my retainer, but the whole team made it truly a wonderful and easy experience.

She did provide a letter to the periodontist I chose next, who after examining me had no concern doing the extraction, bone graft and implant, and he did so successfully at less than 2/3rds the cost estimated by Dr Amy Rosania. I requested a refund of the $250 consultation charge and was told in writing that "The consultation fee is for the exam, diagnosis and treatment plan I gave you regardless of whether you or I choose to go ahead."
