Beaumont has a well kept secret called Jef's Café and I may be visiting Beaumont more frequently…read morenow that I've tried it. The first pleasant surprise was the location. It's on the west side of the main road through town and very close to the big church on the hill. Jef's is easy to find and you can park on the street right in front of the café for free. The café is bright and has several tables of different sizes. You walk up to the counter and the menu is up on the wall. I ordered a Reuben Sandwich and brewed coffee . The coffee was delicious and well above average for a café. Their menu said a refill is $1.60 but perhaps it's free if you order a sandwich because she brought me a refill without my even asking for one. I was glad because one just wasn't enough. My Reuben took a while but that's because they made it from scratch and hand made takes longer than fast food from a microwave. I would say that it has tied for the best Reuben in greater Edmonton. There was lots of sauerkraut which is just the way I like it. The price was very reasonable at $8.95. Really the only thing I can complain about is that the WiFi was not working. I'm sure that was a temporary problem as they do have guest WiFi. I didn't try anything from the pastrie counter but there were lots of tasty looking treats in there. You can be certain that I'll be returning to Jef's Café very soon and I recommend that you try it as well.

I tried the blueberry and apple butterscotch scones. Blueberry was 10/10. So moist, soft, and cake-like. Apple one was very bland, could not taste the apple or butterscotch. I've also had many bad coffees and hot chocolates, some tasted as like didn't clean there machines and some tasted just like hot water. I just went and got breakfast yesterday April 26, 2019 finally after many months of avoiding this place and it actually seems like this place might be improving a little bit different staff which where much more helpful.
