It is cleverly adapted and makes the most of the space although it can feel a bit cramped. The place is clean, well maintained and the staff are excellent. Food here is reasonably priced and tastes above what you would expect. Childrens parties here are quite expensive, A friend of mine recently paid £180 for a party here although they do have some good ideas (high school musical party) If you cant get a space in the their car park then its easy to park across the road in Home Bargains.

My actual complaint is the running of the actual place, as lovely as it is (although I also agree it's extremely cramped). I was sat outside the toddler area recently and watched a little boy, two at the very most, literally punch a little girl of roughly the same age square in the face.Within the next five minutes another little girl was pulling other kids' hair like it was the most natural thing to do in the world.I was absolutely astonished and I refused to leave my youngest child play alone much to his annoyance. Now I agree that it's the parents to blame for this vile behaviour but the seating is so confined you can't keep a close eye on your children....there NEEDS to be at least one member of staff supervising any one part of the play area and there is nobody.I'm guessing the extra cost is seen as pointless but I KNOW of another local play area who have this policy and now wins my vote every time.

Penlan Leisure Centre has good facilities, including a well equipped gym, sport hall-nicely new…read morerubberised surface for classes and badminton court hire etc.,plus a 25 metre length pool and children's pool and a jacuzzi. It's a busy centre with lots of classes both in the pool and dry activities running all year round. The pool can get very busy, particularly when there are classes running, so it's always worth checking timetables on the Swansea.gov.uk site to avoid(or join in a class). On the negative side car parking can be tricky at busy times and the changing rooms can suffer from needing some extra attention as well.

The old Swansea Leisure Centure used to be Wales' most popular tourist attraction, getting way more…read morevisitors than even Snowdon or my school plays. They closed it down for a few years to buff it up and have reopened it as a 21st century waterpark. It certainly looks very modern, the gym which comes out of the front of the building is like a space gym and has incredible views over the marina. The 'waterpark' is not a huge leap from the pools and slides that were there before, they've clearly worked around the main structure - keeping features like the wave pool and the huge windowed walls which make it almost feel like you're swimming outside in warm sunshine. New additions include the 'river run' which is basically a doughnut of water with a strong current which whips you around it and three new slides. Two of the slides are quite boring and similar to the old ones. There is one new one which is amazing though. It's a rubber ring type affair, but instead of a relaxing float down to the ground you go at great speed UP and down the slide - that's right - UP. The water shoots you upwards. It's quite thrilling and induces mega weggies. There's a sufring machine too, but I think you pay seperately for it. There are cafes overlooking the pool complex. The changing rooms are fairly large and varied with plenty of lockers (£1 deposit). There's even one of those high-tech drying machines. There is now also a climbing wall, which looks very pretty and you can see it from the main foyer. I think it's part of the big play area (4 storeys!) that includes sports halls. However, it is a lot more expensive than it was in my day - £7 per adult for 2 hours just for the waterpark. You can get a family ticket for £20, or if you're a Swansea resident you can get a further discount and a loyalty card. The gym has membership starting at £25/month which is loads cheaper than in London.

We love the LC but don't visit as often as we would have liked to as it is very pricey…read more We take our baby swimming there so don't need to use the pools with all the waterslides and waves but are still charged the same £7 as people who use all the facilities which I feel is wrong. The changing rooms are fantastic and always clean and warm. The sensory part of the soft play is great too and our baby loves the bubble lamps. I would not advise eating the food in the Bistro as the steak is remarkably like shoe leather and the potatoes strangely like rocks. Nice staff though.

I used to actually spend a lot of time here as a youth as I played for the South Wales junior team. Is that something to be ashamed or proud of? Anyway, I think the leagues are still going - there used to be an adult league on a Monday night. My brother also used to work here so he could tell you a bit more about it. There's a bar, a Wimpy, an arcade area and American Pool in addition to the many lanes. As there are so many lanes you can usually get one without booking if it's a weeknight or during the day.

The food was very good and brought to us exactly when they said it would be. The bowling was great fun and we were moved quickly to a different lane when the one we were on started playing up. On the lunchtime (in the weekdays Mon-Sat 12pm to 2pm) food is provided in a separate bar room near the bowling green (still within the Selwyn Samuel Centre) whereby a 1 course meal is available for £3 & a three course meal (main, desert & coffee) for £5. Food is home cooked & the portions are plentiful. Orders can be phoned ahead for lunches. With regards facilities to both the suite & the bar, there is adequate space for parking with a private car park and accessability for the disabled.

There is a Spa pool just to the side of the main pool and also a Hydro-slide (I've never been brave enough to go on it). There's a lot of classes to choose from such as Aqua Aerobics and Swimming lessons and also early bird swimming. There is also a well equiped gym, but I only used it the once as it is always full of poser type men who make me feel very self concious and as there's no women only session I just leave them to it. The Leisure Centre is having a big overhaul at the moment with lots of building work going on to improve the facilities and offer a more varied programme of activities, work should be ending soon.
