We used him to drive us from the Edinburgh airport to St Andrews Old Course Hotel. We then used him for a full day to drive us to Braemar to see the Braemar Gathering (Scottish Highland games) and then to Glamis Castle. He took us to see the outside of Balmoral Castle (wasn't open because the Queen is there) for a picture. He had drinks and snacks in the car and provided my husband with a thick coat because we had not anticipated the cold and wind in Braemar. Would recommend highly and use again definitely.

The person on the phone was pleasant and friendly (and as an American in Scotland, I could fully understand her - so that was good!). Taxis were there a little early for the requested time or there quite quickly when called for immediate pick up. Drivers made us comfortable. Really happy with them and would recommend. And it really beats driving on the "wrong" side in heavy traffic.

I just returned from a November visit to this resort. I read before my trip some negative reviews…read moreon some other review sites, so I want to provide a different perspective. I majority of the reviews I read about this resort concerned the drafty cottages and the cost of electricity. Obviously November gave us our share of cold weather, and I am happy to say that our cottage was very comfortable. The cottage was freezing when we arrived, but the staff member who showed us around showed us where the radiators were and how to control them as well as providing advice on running them economically. The unit heated up very quickly. The extra cost for electricity at the end of the week was about £50 which was much less than the amounts suggested by other reviewers. We ate at the cottage at least 1 cooked meal per day and kept the cottage comfortably warm. The furniture and layout of the cottage was very nice and provides good accommodation for up to 3 couples. We only ate at the Linsey room 1 night but the experience was very good and I will enjoy memories of that evening for a long time to come. When we made reservations for the meal we were told that we would be seated at a table with other people. When we got there it was a banquet table with about 25 others. The atmosphere was good and we were encouraged to meet other guests. The food was good and then to our surprise an entertainer showed up. The person was a very good singer, singing traditional Scottish tunes as well as being quite the comedian. I may not have signed up for this event if I had known all that was involved, but I can tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Over all this resort was wonderful, and provided us with an extremely relaxing holiday. If I could change anything I would ask that the resort provide a few condiments in the kitchen. Overall I highly recommend this resort.

Ala Transfers - Excellent!…read more We were fortunate to find and hire Ala Transfers for our first golf trip to Scotland this past September. Allan Forsyth and his team provided us with the perfect stress-free mode of transportation to get from the airport to our hotel and back, and to our tee times at St. Andrews, Panmure, The Golf House Club - Elie Links, and Carnoustie. Punctual, flexible and, overall, just great people - it made our trip all the more enjoyable. The problem: the bed was a bit short, but mainly significantly too hard, leading to a bad night sleep. A good bed would turn this into 5 stars.

I arrived at the hotel on day one and let the staff know my luggage would be delivered soon…read morethereafter by the airline as it had missed my connecting flight, but would be on its way. Cut to four days later I still did not have my luggage or golf clubs delivered and as a result, I had to buy clothing, toiletries, and rent golf clubs to play in that time. It was after I had checked out and then drove to another city when I found out that the airline had delivered my luggage and golf clubs the very next day to the hotel, but no one there ever told me they had arrived and was in their storage. No communication was made on the delivery to me and as a result had to pay extra money on things that were literally in the hotel the whole time and nothing was made to remedy the situation when it was brought to their attention. Better customer service would be appreciated.
