I was conservative in my reporting of my expenses and they took my financial information and whittled my AGI to just over $2000. This was 2.7% of my gross income. Through their method if you earn any money from doing any work outside of the work that is on your W2, you can deduct pretty much anything. This includes your groceries, streaming service fees, electric bill, grooming serviced, dining out, all miles that you drive... you get the picture. They do not have you claim a percentage of these costs, but in their entirety. According to them, because I sold a few things on Marketplace, I could claim that I was a reseller. They told me that my tax return would be $23,000. They use their own computer software to complete and submit your forms and file your taxed as "self prepared". They claim that the use international tax laws to find you these write offs. They are not certified CPA's. They are consultants. They charge a $150 consulting fee with an additional 15% fee based on the expected amount of your refund. Even more disturbing is that they sent me the personal and sensitive information of another client through their insecure pdf filler. I now have their names, complete social security numbers, dates of birth, address, and phone number. For your own protection, please reconsider using their services to protect you private data and avoid costly and time consuming tax audits.
