We ordered the beef cheeks, which were served cold (likely as intended but not what I was expecting). Flavor was fine but not great. The burger was also just okay. For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

Traditional Czech food that was half price of the restaurants in old town. I'd say they had the best goulash soup that we have eaten, which was a huge portion. The broth was very thick and filled with meat, not just broth, with big chunks of potatoes and carrots. The pork knuckle could be on or off the bone, it was like 2 servings. It came with white and purple sauerkraut and chives dumplings. I had the goulash, which was a hint of spicy with the paprika and onions. The dumplings (4) sopped up the rest of the gravy. Beers were also cheaper. Give it a go!

Great atmosphere, perfect service, waiter did great job staring me To a local Merlot that was fantastic, musty, slightly tannic, 1100 crowns. The space itself is grand and beautiful, but the experience went downhill immediately. The hostess seemed to wield all the power in the room--no smile, barely any eye contact, just a curt and judgmental "no reservation." The restaurant was far from full. She then added, "I only have a side table for you," as if that were some sort of compromise. We accepted. At first glance, the waiters looked well presented, but with a bit more observation, the illusion faded. Some had sagging pants, untucked shirts, and most concerning, repeatedly inappropriate hand placement while on the floor. It happened more than once, which was uncomfortable and distracting (see photo). Overall, the place feels very pretentious without delivering on substance. The food wasn't anything special, and the desserts were average at best and certainly not worth the hype or the attitude. I wouldn't recommend Cafe Imperial to friends, especially if you're expecting a warm welcome or standout desserts.
