You can also learn about the five Land Runs in Oklahoma, how OKC managed to become the state Capitol, famous gangsters like Belle Starr, and so much more. The Museum is a cool escape from the hot weather, and if you are looking for some cool state gifts, you will find them here.

It also offers detailed descriptions on how these people lived, what they did to achieve the land, the participants in the rush, and overall outlining the very details that achieved the early parts of Oklahoma settlement. The museum itself is very interactive. It is laid out very nicely and you could easily spend 2 to 3 hours in her going through everything if you took your time. There is a cost to enter the museum varying from children to senior pricing. The 1970s building that occupies the museum is connected building connected to the Carnegie library next door that was established in 1908.

I personally am not a sports fan, and neither is my husband. However, that being said, my dad is…read more So, seeing this museum, we had to visit and take pictures to show him when we go to visit for Father's day tomorrow. This place is full of Oklahoma sports history. All sorts of pictures, collector's items, and even seats and benches from famous sporting arenas. It should be more well known than it is. It was very warm inside, so I think they do need ac put in as those that go will want to take their time looking around. I know we did and like I said, we are not into sports all that much. But this was worth the stop. There is also an area for meetings and other events in the center that is designed as a replica baseball field. It would be a great spot for a sport banquet or honoring sporting event award winners.

The Oklahoma hall of fame is a great recognition of many great Oklahoma's.

Stacey is an awesome storyteller, and really knows the area better than the back of her hand. Like…read morethe best ghost/haunted walks, I learned some fun tidbits that probably won't show up on a chamber website. She does the footwork and verifies EVERYTHING so not all of the stories are scary, but a few made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. She changes the tour topics during special events, so I am definitely going to her walk during the '89ers weekend.
