We were planning on refinancing to take advantage of rates that were still low, and I thought that if I worked hard enough, I'd have it all in the bag in a matter of a few weeks. The problem is I kept uncovering new issues. After a couple of weeks I felt a growing sense of being overwhelmed. So finally near the beginning of May, I called Team Handyman. Tom came out and assessed the situation. I could tell that he knew what he was doing. A couple of days later came a very detailed estimate broken down by task. I picked the most pressing issues to address, and after relaying this to Team Handyman, they gave us a start time of the beginning of the following week. The following Monday, at 8:00 am sharp, Scott pulled in with his truck, and I have to say I've never met anyone more friendly or enthusiastic. His first words to me after rolling out from behind the wheel were a boisterous "Good morning, sir!" - with a hearty fist bump. This was no perfunctory salutation, this was genuine. Of course it would be all for naught, if not for the quality of his work - which was exemplary. And he was quick too ... and very focused. Yet any time I cared to check to see how things were proceeding, he stopped and gave me a detailed overview of how he was attacking the problem areas. It's great when it's so obvious how much someone loves his work. His most impressive accomplishment - at least in my case - was the replacement of rotted sill along one of the garage walls. Splashing water over the years had really made a mess of things, and this was one of the most dismaying discoveries I had made after doing some digging. But Scott managed to clear out the rotted sill, jack up the garage just enough to replace it section by section and then replace the lower foot or so of the outer paneling using PVC board. It came out beautifully - wish I could post a picture. Within three days everything we had requested to be done - was. And it was under the quote. Scott came by on day 4 (Thursday) for a couple of hours just to make some last finishing touches. We soon after passed a VA appraisal with flying colors. Thanks, Team Handyman!

A mason took a look and told us the problem, not sealed and not left to set long enough. Cannot recommend them, the stair repair should not have failed in less than two years ! Was going to have them do our bulkhead door , I did it myself and if the front stair is any indication of their work, I am glad I did it myself.Bottom line hire a real professional for major repairs not Team Handyman.

It's nearly impossible to find this kind of service in today's world. - We had a way overgrown bunch of foundation plantings so big that the painters weren't sure how to place their ladders. Northeast came in with heavy machines and in three days removed the bushes roots and all and replaced them with elegant little boxwoods and rhodies. All with everything restored to better than normal around the house. - Our lawn had developed some really ugly dead patches which seemed to be growing larger over a two year period. The lawn chemical service we had just wasn't working. Will Parris from Northeast came over, diagnosed fungus, did a treatment and restorative aeration, compost and overseed. The results were spectacular - the lawn is better than it ever was! - They've been mowing our lawn all summer very dependably and professionally. I had been mowing too short, probably part of the dead patch problem. The mowers were careful with the reseeding and were adept at handling the peculiarities of our property layout. - Our leaves haven't fallen yet and it's Thanksgiving. They're going to hold off on the Fall cleanup until early December to accomodate this. In short, highly recommended. When you call them, the lady at the front desk - Megan Costello - will brighten your day. Your request WILL be addressed!

I had gutters installed by another company last March. I started calling for estimate To fix the problem. that's how I ended Up in contact with Nick from NRG. I explained to him what was going on with the gutter he said he would come and look at it. CLEARLY TOLD HIM I JUST WANTED AN ESTIMATE! That night he sent a text saying he would stop by in the morning and look at again I said for an estimate? He said yes! I Have everything on text by the way. I said well let me get back to you by Friday cause I have other companies coming out and didn't want everyone to show up at once! He tells me he can come out the next day I said I won't be available he said I didn't have to be home for him to look at it.I said ok what time. he said 8 I said ok I'll be home he shows up and says all it needs it's flashing with out even getting up in a ladder he says I can do it for $100 since I'm here. I think he quoted me $175. But he said he would do it for $100 since it was just flashing that it needed. I called my husband and he agreed to the $100. To "fix" the problem.fast forward a week later 2-2-2020 we have heavy rain the gutter is still leaking I called him asked if he can come and look at to see what going on he says to send him video so I sent him a video. He's response is it must be a leak in the roof. I said how can you if you haven't looked at. He says if I go out I'm going to have to charge you. Charge me? I hired you to fix a problem and you did. He went on to be very rude and swearing telling me to leave him alone that he was not coming to look at the gutter and stop texting him. Please. Be very careful who you hire and make sure you have a contract and everything in writing. people like this are the ones who give other reputable contractors bad names and people won't trust again. Hire a dedicated professional. Do not work with people who have No Honor!
