Jack's demolition team,under Brad, communicated clearly when they would arrive, describe their daily work, and respected our property. The work area was left so that we could resume a normal daily lifstyle. Jack was there onsite thruout the demolition cycle of the project as was the project manager, Tom. As Brad and team completed the demolition cycle, Jeff, who would be completing the base flooring, tiling and grouting was the consummate professional. He approached the project as if he were working in his on house.His attention to detail and skill to merge the new tile into the existing fabric of our existing flooring was impeccable. The problem is I kept uncovering new issues. After a couple of weeks I felt a growing sense of being overwhelmed. So finally near the beginning of May, I called Team Handyman. Tom came out and assessed the situation. I could tell that he knew what he was doing. A couple of days later came a very detailed estimate broken down by task. I picked the most pressing issues to address, and after relaying this to Team Handyman, they gave us a start time of the beginning of the following week. The following Monday, at 8:00 am sharp, Scott pulled in with his truck, and I have to say I've never met anyone more friendly or enthusiastic. His first words to me after rolling out from behind the wheel were a boisterous "Good morning, sir!" - with a hearty fist bump. This was no perfunctory salutation, this was genuine. Of course it would be all for naught, if not for the quality of his work - which was exemplary. And he was quick too ... and very focused. Yet any time I cared to check to see how things were proceeding, he stopped and gave me a detailed overview of how he was attacking the problem areas. It's great when it's so obvious how much someone loves his work. His most impressive accomplishment - at least in my case - was the replacement of rotted sill along one of the garage walls. Splashing water over the years had really made a mess of things, and this was one of the most dismaying discoveries I had made after doing some digging. But Scott managed to clear out the rotted sill, jack up the garage just enough to replace it section by section and then replace the lower foot or so of the outer paneling using PVC board. It came out beautifully - wish I could post a picture. Within three days everything we had requested to be done - was. And it was under the quote. Scott came by on day 4 (Thursday) for a couple of hours just to make some last finishing touches. We soon after passed a VA appraisal with flying colors. Thanks, Team Handyman!

When we called to get clarity over the weekend--crickets. No callback. But someone did show up promptly to pick up the equipment and, charmingly, asked for a 5-star review before showing us the actual invoice. To their credit, they later applied a 10% discount after I complained, but that only softened the blow slightly. Bottom line: if you use Servpro, ask for a detailed written estimate first, and brace yourself for charges that might surprise you. Transparency matters, especially during emergencies. But Servpro water removal service is not worth the money.

First class job at a very fair price…read more Bottom line...I highly recommend Georgoulis Roofing and Construction. Our experience with them could not have been any better. I wasn't looking forward to finding a new contractor, especially since there seems to be so many small roofing companies out there. We used a roofer on our old house years ago and we would not use them again. We also knew of a roofer that our neighbor used, but he ended up over-estimating the roof size, which resulted in much higher costs for materials and labor. I don't think he really wanted the job. I saw great reviews for Georgoulis on multiple web sites, and I preferred to deal with a local company. Since I relied on those reviews, I wanted to share our experience for the benefit of others. Al Greene (Director of Field Operations) was great to work with. He was always extremely responsive, replying to all of our emails in a very timely manner (almost always within 24 hours or less). We looked at both Certainteed and GAF shingles, and decided on Certainteed Landmark (Pewterwood color). Moises, Christian and the rest of the roofing crew did a great job. Our house is 2500 sq ft...2 stories plus a side family room and the roof has a fairly good grade (roofers had to use safety ropes). They said the existing 1-layer roof would be stripped and replaced in two days, and it was. There were seven workers the first day and they worked a 12 hour day. There were three workers the second day and they worked 10 hours. They moved along at a really good pace. They placed blue tarps to protect the shrubs, walkway and deck. They then placed larger black tarps from the roof edge to the ground to protect the house itself. The crew also used several large magnets to search for nails all around the grounds and the lawn when done. There were only a few minor follow-up issues that required fixing - nothing unexpected for such a dirty job. A few asphalt marks on the siding and aluminum flashing from the shingle debris. There were also a couple of pieces of white aluminium flashing that had to be bent during installation in order to get the shingles all of the way in. This was completely understandable. Since we had a prior problem with bats in one of those areas, we asked them to restore the flashing to its original snug fit. They took care of everything right away. We also had three window screens that were damaged by shingle debris on the second day (minor scraps from the new roof; large black house tarps are only up during roof removal on day 1; had to be removed from the roof edge in order to install the new roof). I offered to take the screens to be repaired and Georgoulis reimbursed us. In hindsight, I wish I had taken the screens out. Kevin and Billy installed 10 sets of new vinyl shutters as well as a rain diverter over the front steps. They also addressed some of the clean-up issues. We covered the items in our attic since we knew there would be lots of granules going through the ridge vent during removal. We also took down anything hanging on the walls that might fall due to vibrations (mirrors, framed pictures, etc). Turns out we probably didn't need to do that, but better safe than sorry. We've already had a few good rain storms and there are no leaks or issues with the new roof. The builder had used inferior shingles when they built the house. We had a couple of leaks and had shingles blow off several times over the years due to the wind (due to lack of tar adhesive on the shingles). We now know that we have a solid, high quality roof. Everyone involved was great from start to finish. We couldn't have asked for more. It really exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend Georgoulis to family and friends and would definitely use them again for any job.

He said something about me being a man of his word on the price. Even though he was higher than one company, I trusted, to my dismay, that he was a straight shooter. I asked him for a contract, and he never did send me one. I think that he had other jobs, probably paving ones that would give him more money, versus a sealcoating job. I called him another time and left a message of which it was not returned. He should at least have had the decency to tell me that he could not follow up on his promise. I finally resorted to calling other companies in late July and early August; but I feel that by waiting for Henry, I missed out on other companies scheduling my job this Summer. My wife and I finally had to sealcoat the driveway ourselves, and both of us are 77 years old! In closing, do not trust Henry on his being a "man of his word"! John C.
