The lines were from the counter to the door, you always had to plan on being there for a day. As if that wasn't bad enough, when 6 hours later it was your turn you were faced with the nastiest, meanest bunch of old hags who intimidated the hell out of you. I swear not one of them was a day younger than 100. (Rip ladies wherever you ended up) I truly believe they enjoyed putting tje fear of God in you. What a horrible experience it was every single time you had to go there. Well for starters this business has had full of works that don't provide the best customer service…read more. keep in mind fellow employees at this business you primary there to help and assist customers, Quick observation when I went to visit 6/12/24 I noticed employees/staff members were carrying a baby and talking amongst each other for the whole duration of my time was about 30 to 45 minutes, keep in mind, Place semi full with customers my train of thought is you have people waiting more than average because employees choose to play Daycare excuse the term but you have people there that are on a time schedule as well and you need to provide service. Keep in mind. Majority are not on their lunch break so they are killing time doing so the big factor is that the manager of the facility was one of them red flag very unprofessional.

Most of the old mills downtown have been developed into apartments and/or artist studio spaces, with one more set to be finished by 2017, and the city has put a lot of effort into making downtown a place where people can happily live. These are some of the things new to the city in the past 5 years: -Mill No. 5 - A mill space that has been developed into several store fronts, including: -Sutra Studio (Yoga) -Coffee and Cotton (Coffee Shop) -Luna Theater (Independent Theater) -Mill City Grows - Local Farmer's Market organization. -Run a weekly Farmer's Market in Mill No. 5 that's open year-round -Run a summer Farmer's Market by the City Hall -Works specifically with SNAP and WIC beneficiaries -Lowell Food and Wine Festival - Run by Mill City Grows over a full weekend. Included: -Food Truck Madness: 15+ Food Trucks in Jack Kerouac Park -Tacos and Tequila -Sips N' Sweets -Grand Tasting Event: 30+ Food and Alcohol vendors, seriously a blast. -Counting House Lofts - Finished in 2015 For anyone who's even a mild foodie, there are a ton of options: -Blue Taleh - Japanese and Thai. Great sport for spicy food. -El Potro - Mexican, with al fresco dining and a mariachi band in warm weather. -Athenian Corner - A Greek staple in the area for 40-ish years. Lowell is the third most racially diverse city in MA, however unlike Boston it is more integrated. One of my big complaints in Brighton was that I was only surround by other young, white professionals, and young, white and east asian students. There was very little racial or socio-economic diversity. In my building I have met other tenants who are African, Latino, Cambodian, African-American, Chinese, White, etc. and instead of just young-professionals there are retirees, students, families, singles, etc. I appreciate being surrounded by people who are different from me, which makes Lowell a particularly nice fit. Chris M. has an out-dated vision of a Lowell that is overrun with crime and drugs. There is crime, but it's primarily in-fighting, so they only thing to be really worried about is getting in a drunken fight, which can happen anywhere. I've had someone try to sell me weed, but that has also happened on Boston Common, sooooo say "No thank you" and keep walking. Yes, there as been a rise in heroin use, but that is most certainly not unique to Lowell. I'm not sure if I would raise kids in Lowell because the school system has some struggles, but sans children this is most definitely a good place to live, and will only be getting better.

Tacos Lupitas is a must hit on the beautiful north side of Lowell. Umass Lowell has a beautiful must masterpiece called fax hall. Legend has it fox hall took 1000 years to build. I love Lowell and I love life. Great place for a family vacation. The blue shamrock and gemstones is another must see family friendly restaurant with the best burgers and steak tips around. Only bad part of Lowell is when you aren't in the great city.

I never thought I would see a review of my local town dump!…read more Brookline was the first town I lived in where there was no local trash pickup. However, making the weekly trip to the dump is not difficult. They have bins for recycleables, so at least you know that money is not being wasted. The glass bin is always full of beer, liquor, and wine bottles...we know what Brookliners like to do in their relaxation time! :) Apparently, the money they get back on recycling only covers the cost to transport the bin to the recycling plant! Oh well, a penny saved is a penny earned (and hopefully a penny less on my property taxes!) Swap tables are great. I've never took anything from it, but I have dropped off a few things. I always see Maurice taking some of the really nasty items that nobody wants and tossing into the compactor. Some people drop off things that nobody would EVER want, but don't want to pay the money to dispose of them.

The swap table at the dump is a great place to find stuff. Many people bring very gently used items…read morethere, instead of consigning them or having a yard sale. I've gotten a lot of nice toys, books, and videos for my kids there - a chalkboard/easel, art desk, ride-on toys, etc., all in good shape. It's amazing what some people throw away.

Today would have marked the conclusion of such for my son. Alas, they don't usually schedule the road test the same day as the computer exam. Ya know, up front - that's my only main complaint about NH's DMV (so far). Apparently, they're so short staffed or whatever...that they can't do as most states have and still do - road test same day, so long as the driver passes their general knowledge test. Pedantic lamenting aside, however, this place is....efficient enough. I mean, this isn't even remotely the first time I've been here. Come to think of it, I found it peculiar I had somehow never written a review for the NH DMV till now. Huh! So anyways, I actually first visited this place 3 years ago when I applied for my own state license. First thing of note is they do not print licenses here. They send away for the actual final copy which takes anywhere between 5 to 8 weeks to receive. Pretty ridiculous, if you ask me. It's 2024, yet we still can't find a more efficient way to quickly distribute licenses. Considering how much paperwork is required to even apply for one of these things, you'd think the distribution process would be stellar. I've met pigeons who deliver mail faster. *sigh* But, I digress. How would I improve this facility? Allow applicants to schedule both their general knowledge and road test for the same day ahead of time. Making folks inexorably visit this place TWICE just to complete a licensing process for a new driver makes NO sense! They even take the kid's photo for the license immediately after passing the knowledge test. At that point, they're like....75% of the way complete towards being a fully fledged licensed driver anyway. Do these people hate the O-Zone layer or something?! On some positive notes, the facility itself is well organized, clean, accessible, and easy enough to get to. I only wish licensing didn't take the length of time it takes for Mercury to orbit the sun. It's solely for that reason....that I must give the DMV of Nashua 3 eager teens impatiently awaiting receipt of their driver's license out of 5.

This was before I could get a number and sit down, even though there were plenty of chairs. Every other DMV office I have ever visited has given you a number upon arrival; you didn't have to wait in line to get one. It takes over a month to get an appointment, and that wasn't an option for me because I had lost my license. All five stations had vision testers, but only one station did vision tests. You had to undergo a vision test before you could get a number and take a seat. I am a senior and was uncomfortable standing for such a long time. Additionally, I couldn't read my book, and I was growing increasingly angry. Everyone else in line was angry, too. And it was unnecessary because the other four people could have done the vision tests when they were taking your money and photographing you. The manager should be fired.

Considering the volume of people and stress that comes with that position, she handled herself with patience and professionalism the entire time. Unfortunately, my experience with the second employee was the complete opposite. The interaction came across as rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily condescending. At one point, I was even told that the birth certificate I provided "wasn't mine" -- despite the paperwork clearly showing otherwise once it was actually read. Unless my daughter was somehow born in 1981, I'm fairly certain I know which birth certificate belongs to me. I fully understand that customer-facing jobs can be exhausting, especially in state offices where employees deal with long lines and frustrated people all day. However, that does not excuse speaking down to people who are simply trying to complete a process. If another employee in the exact same environment can greet every person with kindness and a smile, then professionalism is clearly possible. Respectfully, if someone dislikes working with the public to the point where basic courtesy becomes difficult, customer service may not be the right position for them.

The service is impeccable. You are in and out. If you go to a DMV in Massachusetts, you dread going there because you will be there all day. This was organized and you weren't waiting long.
