The RMV in Haverhill are stupid. I come and try to explain to them but the dude with the eyes weird say I have to took class before my suspension took out. They never accept for their fault. If they notice to me early I probably pay for the fee already but they don't when you come talk to them they not even care. They got pay just for seat down and have fun. They not do their job . I come inside all their face are angry or mad. I hate those people who work lazy and I never respect those people who never try to help customers when they work.

I wish I had caught her name! Wonderful woman. However the last time I was in to register a car I had just purchased they said there was a discrepancy in mileage all because someone at an inspection station prior to me owning the vehicle put a 3 where there should have been a 1 and it spent its entire life serviced at the dealer I even have every single receipt up until 10 miles before I purchased the vehicle. I looked through all 73 pages and nothing contradicts the mileage but now I have a title that says actual mileage unknown. I'm not sure if you know what that means, but it basically takes the value of your car and puts it in the toilet! When I asked them how I can fix it, I was told " you can't it is what it is"! Wow

The service is impeccable. You are in and out. If you go to a DMV in Massachusetts, you dread going there because you will be there all day. This was organized and you weren't waiting long.

Considering the volume of people and stress that comes with that position, she handled herself with patience and professionalism the entire time. Unfortunately, my experience with the second employee was the complete opposite. The interaction came across as rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily condescending. At one point, I was even told that the birth certificate I provided "wasn't mine" -- despite the paperwork clearly showing otherwise once it was actually read. Unless my daughter was somehow born in 1981, I'm fairly certain I know which birth certificate belongs to me. I fully understand that customer-facing jobs can be exhausting, especially in state offices where employees deal with long lines and frustrated people all day. However, that does not excuse speaking down to people who are simply trying to complete a process. If another employee in the exact same environment can greet every person with kindness and a smile, then professionalism is clearly possible. Respectfully, if someone dislikes working with the public to the point where basic courtesy becomes difficult, customer service may not be the right position for them.

I arrived 20 minutes after the doors opened to find the line up out the door on the porch, in the rain. Guess everyone also thought going early would be the trick. Needless to say I forgot my umbrella, so waited about 10 minutes in my car. Lo and behold no one was outside anymore. Went in to see the line curved around inside the small vestibule, but I was dry! Really wasn't up for a frizzy curl day. There are four "windows" at the back of the main room, though the fourth is dedicated for those doing driving tests. That said, one staff member was going along the line to the speed things up and she would occasionally take someone to that extra counter. She also checked to make sure people had the correct documentation for Real ID applications. Seems some don't get the concept of "2 pieces of identification" in order to apply. They got bumped out and the rest of us shifted forward. Good thing no one had a tantrum - State Police offices are at the rear lower level of the building. When my turn came, I was very ably and cheerfully assisted by a young lady. Missed getting her name. Seemed like no more than 5 minutes to do vision test, picture (the damnable frizzies did show up - bleurgh!), call to Concord to verify my green card status and print out a temp license; 30 minutes all told. I'm impressed!

Had an appointment to transfer and out-of-state license to a Maine Real ID this morning, and wow!…read more It was a breeze, and I was in and out of the door in under 20 minutes. Here's how it worked: I booked my appointment online about a month ago. The day before you'll get an email and/or text verification telling you to text "check in" no earlier than 5 minutes from your appointment time. There were also three very friendly and helpful workers right in the lobby checking appointment names as well and providing direction (one woman verified with me that I had the right documents with me, which was nice). Basically after that I walked right in and my number popped up at one of the counters, and from there the whole thing took about 15 minutes. They do also take walk-ins, and when I arrived at 8:45 a.m. the seats were filling up but not yet full with those folks; I did see that some of them were being called up to the counters too, so they clearly have some sort of system going. Right now wait times are often super long; also, if you look online you'll see that the next appointments for this branch aren't available until mid-August (this is because of the Real ID crunch; I've checked online before and it's not normally like this). So if you do still need your Real ID, I'd book an appointment for the next date as a fallback (you can always cancel it), and then try as a walk-in mid-week or so, arriving first thing in the morning. Either way, they're efficient and helpful, and everything is organized! I've lived in a lot of cities and usually BMVs are an utter nightmare, but this was super easy.

It never hurts to bring: passport birth certificate marriage license current license mortgage statement utility statement tax bill social security card Not a copy of any of these Obviously with your full name listed on it. With the new real ID many forms of id will be needed If you don't have what they need then be prepared to go back and wait in line. Bring a good book, knitting, a game, make your shopping list. It takes time but I've waited longer at other places in other states. For the most part I was in and out.

This DMV distorts biometrics on the Real ID photographs. My husband has a short beard and a very…read morelong face. He has asked 3 times to have his entire face in the photo, but they insisted each time on inventing the face they think he should have. He told them that his chin is being cut off, and they told him that he didn't know what part of his face was beard and what part was flesh and bone. He has shaved his beard so that the photographer doesn't insist that they know what he looks like underneath, but if they just took standard, regulation photographs, like those in the example page of TSA or Homeland Security or even like the example on the wall of their office, from the clavicles up, ears and all, then they wouldn't have to invent the biometrics of a person. They wouldn't have to just make it up. My husband would have been able to keep his beard, which he liked. He has to travel further to find a trustworthy person to take a standard photograph, and so do I. The people at this DMV cite a nebulous, unknowable "They" when telling you that you can't have your entire face in a photograph, saying, "This is how They want it done," but no one wants it like this. The ID was rejected by the French Consulate, and still the person working at this DMV would not correct their mistake. His chin is cut out of the photo. His ears are clipped. If you never travel, maybe this will be fine for you, but in every other State in the Union and in the countries abroad, the ID created here is completely useless garbage. Decide what you want in your life before getting an ID done here, because what they will give you will limit your freedom. *edit to add: Went to the DMV in Epping, and they all gave lip service about how the photo is incorrect, but that they had called Concord, and "they were just cranking these out so fast" that if you wanted a correct photo and a functional Real ID, you'd have to wait until you get the ID in the mail, then devote even more time plus pay $10 more for a replacement, in order to have it done correctly. Sounds scammy. Take the photo right the first time, and no one would have to pay more in time and money. In any case, you won't be going anywhere for a while. At least several months.
