Went in for a trim left with a bob cut and it just did not look how I was hoping for not saying this place is bad maybe I just had bad luck.

Let me give you some perspective...Nick is my all-time favorite barber, and my buddy and I went into a slight panic when we found out he left the previous location he was at. Imagine how pumped we were to find out he'd not only opened his own shop but went in with fellow barbers Jaime and Jerrick on it. State Street, in its first week, already had a full line waiting just to get their heads in front of one of these three guys. If that doesn't say it all I don't know what does. I've never liked my hair. 1. Black hair is hard 2. Not a lot of people in Utah don't know what to do with it 3. I'm insanely lazy and don't do much to it. I'm insane and used to cut my hair at quick and cheap places. I won't name names but it rhymes with elastic hams. My sis has been telling me to go to a barber for years. This was my second trip here and my second time with Jaime. It's like I was blind but now I see. THIS is what my hair is supposed to be like! I'm never going anywhere else. Jaime is precise and artistic. He makes sure he's doing exactly what you want done to your hair. And yelp says it's $$ but I don't think it's not expensive at all! This barber shop had great vibes from the moment I walked inside. All the barbers were welcoming and friendly. We joked, spoke about sports, and the documentary that was playing on the tv as my hair was being but. It had a classic barbershop feel inside, the smell, the posters, the sound of clippers buzzing; everything. I've gone twice now and they now how to do everything including high fades, tapers, beard trims etc. The service is normal price, and definitely worth the visit. read more

One of the best cuts I've ever received. Jaime's attention to detail and ability to go above and beyond made this a whole experience. I have long hair and receive a straight razor shave to my undercut about 7 times a year. Surprisingly, many barbers are daunted by this and are uncomfortable with the cut. They either fumble the blade, clip above the line, or skip the razor altogether and stick to the buzzer. Jaime really took his time with the clippers and buzzer--so much so that I was worried he wouldn't make time for the razor. Just when I thought he was done, he pulled out all the stops for a shave. Not only did he shave perfectly, but he even touched up my beard without needing to. I couldn't recommend State Street Barbers and Jaime enough. read more

I did a walk-in and the owner, same guy that was great before, told me I'd have to come back just as a nice lady pulled me over to her chair. I loved my hair after she took care of me and she's extremely friendly and professional. I called in the next time to make an appointment because they said to make an appointment on Facebook and I could not figure out where I was supposed to do that since it was my first time using Facebook for this purpose. They were not friendly. I don't care how well you cut hair (you guys were my favorite so far and I used to cut hair) if you don't know customer service. If you're looking for a new barber, State Street Barbers should be your first stop. If you're not looking for a new barber, you should. My last barber left the state, and now I'm only bummed I didn't find this place sooner. As a new customer, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get an appointment the day of. Nick not only made time for me as by keeping his place open late, he didn't rush the haircut and beard trim. He's a clearly a skilled barber and cares about giving a quality cut. I've had my hair cut by three of the barbers here; Nick, Jerrick, Jaime. They've all given me perfect fades for reasonable prices. This time Nick cut my hair, and it was my first time at his new location. The inside is a clean, classic barbershop with the black and white-tiled floor and old barbershop chairs. Nick nailed it, and I was in and out with a perfect fade for $25. I'll definitely be going back, and I would personally say this is one of the only really good haircuts you can get in Utah Valley for a reasonable price. read more

The haircut was great; staff seems friendly and they are pretty decently priced. However, there was literally hair everywhere and the paper they use to wrap around your neck was all over the floor and it looked like they hadn't swept for a minute. I don't know if I'm being overly sensitive but I personally have never been to a shop and seen that amount of hair and debris not swept up. read more

I've recently found this place via yelp and have been there 3 or 4 times now. I try to go to a place a few times before making a judgement to make sure the quality remains consistent. Nick has done an incredible job every single time, and is very good at taking hairstyle requests from the customer and making it look great.
