She took the time to listen, she looked at the photos I brought, asked the right questions to make sure we were on the same page, and checked in throughout the cut/color to make sure I was loving it. She thinned my hair way too much after I said I wanted volume, she said it was to "add texture" but now I know it's because she was trying to fix her mistake to the point where it felt uneven and way less full than before. The layers were also cut the wrong way and didn't blend at all--it just looked choppy and awkward. I tried to trust the process while I was in the chair, but once it was done, I knew something was off. It didn't frame my face right and honestly just didn't look like a professional job nothing was even. I ended up having to go to someone else to fix it, which cost me even more time and money. A haircut is supposed to make you feel better, not stressed about how to fix it after. If you're looking to walk out less happy than when you walked in, this is definitely the place to go.

I felt comfortable consulting with Shep about my bold new pixie look. He was open minded, attentive in listening to what I wanted, and practical about my specific hair and facial features. Then the real magic happened when he started cutting my hair. He checked in with me for each step, was willing to work with my changes and new ideas as we went along, and was very gentle and considerate. He is a master of his craft and is genuinely passionate about what he does. He strikes a rare balance between using his skill and artistic eye while helping his clients achieve the results they are looking for while being completely honest about whats achievable and taking into account what will flatter them most. I was there for 2 hours and the person who was going to finish school in a month didn't know how to cut bangs or make hair length even. When she washed my hair, the water temperature was either too cold or too hot, I had to tell her to adjust temperature several times and when she was washing my hair, her fingers bumped my head several times, it was not smooth. She had to have her instructor help her throughout the haircut. That's not what would expect when someone who is almost done with salon school.
