I have been shopping at this location for over 30 yrs. I'm there at least 2xs a week . Today was the worst experience I have had . And let me add this experience happened at least 2 other times. But today was the icing on the cake for me. The meat dept is not helpful. The employees are beyond rude. They give the feeling that we as customers are bothering them. Well just wanted to say I am very undatisfied with my trip today. Although the cashier was great an awesome but the guy who helped me after my purchase did not hit his mark. I believe it was nick. Well stater Bros has a price guarantee and I was charged $2.99 for hand soap that had a digital deal sign for $1.99. When I showed the receipt to Nick he checked and told me it was a digital deal I clarified I knew that and used my number and it didn't come out on my receipt. Finally after communicating with another member of management I was refunded $1.00 grocery non taxable for something I paid taxes on. SMH. I should have got a full refund for their price guarantee. read more

Stater Bros Upland was my go-to neighborhood market when I was a teenager many blue moons ago LOL. It seems to continue to be the same through now, but at a different neighborhood in the high desert. They have the best produce... this is where I get my freshest fruits and vegetables. I normally don't shop anywhere else for my produce with the exception of sometimes at Costco, San Gabriel Superstore, 99 Ranch, or Wal-Mart. Besides produce, I do buy frozen meals, ice cream, dairy products, soda, and chips from this Stater Bros. I don't shop meats or seafoods from here even though they are known for their quality meats and seafoods. I get them elsewhere. This store is always looking stocked, organized, and clean. Great atmosphere! I never have an issue with items being out of stock. Staff is the most friendly and pleasant. Service is fantastic! Prices are reasonable. I do enjoy shopping here! read more

I usually go to the C St. Stater Brothers, but stopped in this one today. Unfortunately, I ran into a very rude checker named Lisa. She would not give the man in front of me a chance to load his items on the conveyor belt, before turning the belt on him, making him struggle to load his items on the conveyor belt, with it constantly moving. She refused to stop it. Anyhow, her terribly b*tchy attitude towards me, just standing in line behind him, made me leave her line all together and take my stuff to the express lane. I will not tolerate a woman speaking to me with such rudeness, so I will make a point to NOT go back to this Stater Brothers ever again. It was utterly disgusting and completely uncalled for. It's people like this who should not be working with the public. She has no decency in the manner in which she speaks to people. Customers are not there for you to treat like trash, we just want to pay for our items and get out without being subjected to anyone's crap. read more

This Stater Bros has not been the same. I used to frequent this location often because of how close it is to my house, now I'm more than pleased to go to a store like sprouts to get the groceries I need. It used to be a welcoming store, but more recently I've noticed most the workers seem on edge and are focused more on doing their work than providing customer service. Don't get me wrong the workers still go out of their way to help me when needed, but also now I have to bag my groceries or the cashier will bag them for me. Now lines take longer to go through. I remember when the store manager was a younger skinnier guy, this store used to be lively and the workers were always available to help me whenever I needed. Fun fast, as a teenager I jumped the fence nearby and broke my ankle ha ha ha. While things surrounding Staters have changed Stater Bros has pretty much stayed the same. Easy to find what you need and location is clean. Service was ok and we were on our way pretty quick. read more

Stopped in here today and was asked at the check-out if I was paying with cash, or debit card? I use my Discover card for everything, so when I asked why, the clerk said, "because we've had a lot of fraud". Well, I'm sorry you have experienced a lot of fraud, but I'd like to know wth that has to do with me. If you have a fraud problem, ask people who use their credit cards for ID. I use mine for the 5% cash back I get and you've made that difficult. I'd seriously like to know why this store treats law-abiding customers like criminals, while they let the real thieves walk right out of the store with merchandise and do nothing about it. Did you ever stop to think that perhaps you are taking your efforts out on the wrong people? I'd say that I will step up my shopping at Vons, and avoid this place all together. So far, Vons, Cardenas, and Smart & Final have not questioned me when making purchases using my Discover card. In fact, you are the only store who did. read more

For the bakery department.... We ordered a unicorn birthday cake, vanilla with cream filling . We provided a photo of what we wanted the cake to look like... we picked up the cake today and what we were given was not what we ordered. The manager did come and gave a few dollars off but that besides the point. It was very disappointing. To top it all off when we cut into it it was a marble cake. Sad bc we ordered white cake bc the bday girl does not like chocolate in her cakes. (Side note they did not provide the ears and horn we bought that on amazon) We actually ordered a cake last year from the same location and it was completely ruined. We thought we would give them another try a year later. Looks like this will be the last time. read more

This Stater Brothers is a perfect example of putting lipstick on a pig. It is a nice, clean store selling sub-par seafood. On Friday, September 16th, I noticed a display of roast salmon for $2.99 a pound in the seafood department. This should have my first clue that all was not as it seemed. The seafood counter itself appears very nice and clean. However, the previously frozen salmon offered on display was a sickly shade of gray. I realize that salmon will loose some color when frozen but it should not be gray...or brown...or black. I know this because my home is in Alaska. We catch over 200 pounds of salmon each year and eat it 2-3 times a week. Anyhow, I let the manager on duty know that the salmon looked bad. He couldn't have cared less. I returned to the store on Monday, September 19th and guess what salmon was STILL on display??? Yup, the same disgusting piece of rotten fish. This time I spoke to the seafood specialist at the seafood counter. She informed me that fish continues to bleed after a it's frozen and that's what it should look like. Are you kidding me??? Even salmon properly frozen for two years will retain much of its color. She then proceeded to cut the fish in half to show me the good meat inside. No surprise when the fish was discolored, in some sections, all the way through. I wouldn't recommend this Stater Brothers to anyone. Spoiled seafood can be deadly and they are obviously concerned only with their bottom line, not in offering a quality, safe product. After reporting the issue twice, the salmon is still offered for sale. I'll post pics of the salmon from the 16th and three days later. read more

Stater Bros is not my favorite supermarket though they do have some plus points. A good bakery (enjoy their cookies) fresh fruit and veggies at a descent price ....and that's where it ends. Just like some of the other reviewers have written, the employees at this Stater Bros location are extremely rude. Tonight while checking out I had the misfortune of being helped by a woman named "Raquel". When I made the mistake of pronouncing her name "Rachel" in an attempt to be cordial (which is her job, not mine) she very rudely said "my name is RAQUEL, NOT RACHEL". Shocked by how rudely she reached to an innocent mistake, I attempted to laugh it off and said "whatever, I'm sorry" to which she replied "NO, my name ISNT WHATEVER, ITS RAQUEL". She didn't ask if I wanted a bag for my groceries or even make any effort to push the items down so I could grab them easier. RAQUEL has no business working in customer service and I will be writing an email to Stater Bros corporate to let them know what kind of employee they have representing their brand and the way she treats people who walk in their store and spend their hard earned money. read more

I've been looking for a new place to shop for groceries recently. I was looking for a locally owned business without pushing a political agenda! and just a regular affordable, grocery store that just sells food. Which has not been easy to find, until now. I live only a few minutes away...but I've always shopped at other big box stores. I wore my mask as well as most customers as did all employees. Everything was clean, organized and a good selection of organic items, which is a big plus for me. I will continue to shop here as long as I feel safe walking in and walking out. One of the reasons I did not come here before was because of the many questionable people in the parking lot. Just one person asked for money as I was entering this time. Went in to this location to ask about the hiring process and asked a woman at the front entrance to point me in the direction of a manger I could speak to. I approached the register he was standing at, and waited politely for him to finish what he was doing. In an instant the bald man gave me attitude and got shut down almost immediately. He seemed as if he was too overwhelmed with the clipboard and white button up title getting to his head and thought he had a dominance over a person simply asking about seeking employment. I have three Stater Brother stores closer to me but I choose to go to the one located at 14466 Main St, Hesperia, Ca which is much farther from me. The reasons include: 1. The location "feels" safe 2. The parking lot does not have a cramped feeling 3. The store is very neat & clean 4. The staff is friendly and helpful 5. Goods from the meat department are wrapped good & do not leak or have butcher paper on the meat when unwrapped. 6. Produce seems fresher than at other Stater Brothers I've only shopped at this location for 3 months now but every visit has surprised me with the friendliness & curtousy of staff. I've had my over filled cart unloaded by staff (without asking or without a physical need). I've been asked if I need help out (usually I say no) but they help anyway or on my way out of the store an associate helps me outside at my car. I've been greeted in the isles with a "hello" or "are you finding everything today" on every visit. I've never had to look for help...someone is easily found and is more than willing to help. Produce and meats seem to be fresher than at other locations (or at least spoilage appears to be slower). Shelves are fully stocked. No expired dates have been found while shopping - something that unfortunately seems to be easily found in other locations. In addition, expiration dates are not regularly the next day or two unlike other locations. I've never written a review on a grocery store but felt inclined to do so because of my unexpected yet very satisfying experience at this specific location. To start, I've been coming to Stater Bro since I was a kid. That's about 29 years. I even graduated from CSUSB with the Computer Science Building named after the owner. But this place has gone downhill after his death. The employee here are zombies, no feelings, apologies, eye contact. This day I'm shopping for corn beef, soda, and excedrin for my sick mother, who I left my job to take care of. I have everything in my cart and ready, but I need to go to the bathroom really quick. I leave my cart and go in the bathroom. I'm in there for no more than 5 minutes. I come out and my cart is gone, I go to the nearest cashier and ask, "Where is my cart". "Oh, we had it put away", the cashier said. A young 16 year old girl came with two carts with my stuff already mixed with other items, and later after I got home, several items were already put away. All this after 5 minutes in the bathroom. I ask for the manager, a kid named Robert came over. At this time I was a little upset to find all my items taken and having to sift through the carts to find them again. When I explained to Robert my situation, his respond was no apology but to tell me it was my fault for not telling anyone I was going to the bathroom(Am I a kid and have to ask to go to the bathroom and let mommy know?). This go me upset, all I wanted was an apology, and it wouldn't happen again. Maybe help to get my stuff back and a personal checkout. Nope, I got none of that. Robert then turned around and walked away. After getting what I thought was all my stuff I went looking for a line for checkout. All the lines where long, so Robert opened one up. I was the second customer in his line. I was telling him how bad he treated me and I couldn't believe I would be treated like this out loud for everyone to hear. He then proceeded to tell me, "Get out of my line". I told him, "No, you can't make me", and stayed in the line. As it was my turn, he had someone else sub in for him. After this horrifying event, I can't see me ever going to Stater Bro again. I called corporate to complain and leave feedback, and tell them of this experience. They said it's too late in the day for the district manager to call but he would call tomorrow. Its been a week and no call. Please don't go here. It's a depressing place full of unhappy employees. read more

Visited this store on 1/6/2021 around 9:30PM. Place was clean and everyone was friendly. Except whoever was on register 6 cleaning. The light was on as I proceeded to check out. He saw me didn't even acknowledge the fact that I was coming to the register. Until I had to ask him are you open. Instead of saying no I'm sorry I'm just cleaning I just get a big fat NO! So I replied your service light is on maybe you should turn off your service light because that very misleading. Instead of getting an ok or any sort of acknowledgment on it, I just get a snarky remark I'm cleaning and rolled his eyes. Wow I thought this was friendly neighborhood store ? Guess customers aren't supposed to feel welcomed at this store. I expect this sort of service at a run of the mill grocery store but never would expected that this store would lack the training of their employees on customer service ! Bought chicken breast from the butchers counter. Came home & opened it up to start cooking dinner. Omg the chicken had a horrible foul odor!!! Needless to say, our dinner was ruined. I grabbed my receipt & chicken, headed right back to Stater bros. Returned the chicken, got my money back. Spoke to a manager who asked me if I wanted to go back & get fresh chicken!!? Lol That whole counter of "fresh chicken" is bad! Hope no one gets sick from it. Just want to add to this. A few weeks after this, I bought a chub of their 3lb ground beef. Opened it up, & once again it smelled foul & I wasn't the only one who thought so. My family members could smell it a few feet away. read more

Usually I love coming to this location. I was there with my family recently getting WIC, and the employees in the back where the milk is were staring and complaining they would have to order more milk (because I had a lot in my cart) and just whispering to each other and looking at me and my family. Made us feel really uncomfortable. I talked to the manager and let her know I felt and she said she would talk to them. She apologized and made me feel a little better. This store wont bag groceries for the handicapped. Was told if you bring in your own bags that you must bag them yourself. And was told very rudely. I promise this, if i had been there when this employee throwing the groceries at my mom, that employee would be unconscious. Period. Have some respect for your elders. Company policy be damned. My mom is over 60 years old and walks with a cane. The reason for coming to stater brothers and paying the expensive prices is so they can bag the groceries. But now this store wont bag for you unless you pay the 10 cents per bag. You wont help an old lady out then you need to check your morals. Dont advertise as a full service market if you dont intend to be. We could go to winco or food for less and save alot of money. Went in the store 8/12 at 415 pm young man who works at the meat counter, we asked for a porterhouse steaks, the guy tells us there are some out front he then walks us out and show us a t bone steak and says this is a porterhouse, I laughed at the guy and said ya no ...... we then get the next best thing a filet minion, we sit at the counter why the young gentleman stands there with a dumb founded look on his face, mean while a lady comes out and helps us, if you don't like your job and your rude with customers maybe customer service is not the job for you ! read more

This is the first time I've shopped at this Stater Bros, I usually go to the one on Main between C and E Ave. Everything seemed okay, except for the minimal lighting in the parking lot. So as we are in line paying, the cashier puts a dozen eggs in the bag and one of the eggs falls out and breaks (I was digging through through my wallet for my debit card when this happened). From where I was standing, I could not see where the egg fell but I did see an employee rush to clean the floor. The cashier asks another employee to run back and grab another dozen. Ok no problem, I pay my grocery bill and wait off to the side while they bring the other carton of eggs. A young man comes by, delivers the new dozen and we're on our way. We check the dozen, ok cool. They are all A-ok. Now mind you we always make a point to not bag our eggs and we place them inside the car where they won't be smashed by heavier items. So we get home and start to put away our groceries when I pull out various items out of one of the bags, including my kids' snacks, and find that they have a goopy yellow yolk around them. For those of you who don't know, raw eggs contain salmonella, which can make you very sick. I was a ServSafe certified restaurant manager years ago, and know that salmonella can be especially hazardous to children and the elderly. It bothered me that they didn't offer to put my groceries in a different bag, or maybe even swap out the items that were contaminated. So I call and speak to a man who didn't apologize, and tried to defend the store by saying something along the lines of "well most people only want 1 or 2 bags for their groceries. And we usually just put the eggs on top of the rest of the groceries." I purchased $50 worth of groceries, do you really think I'd be able to fit that in 2 bags? No, that's why I walked out with 4 bags. That's what ticked me off, that he didn't offer an apology. I told him again that it was a food hazard and he seemed to brush it off. When I think he finally got tired of listening to me, he offered to swap out my groceries that were in the same bag, which I agreed with. Then he hung up, still no apology. I wasn't complaining to get stuff for free or a discount. I called to ask what their protocol was, and to voice my concern, not to be a mooch. I think I'll be sticking to the Stater Bros on the other side of town, they are much friendlier and I'm sure they would not have dropped the ball like this. read more
