I have financed and re-financed too many properties to count over the last 25 years. Never have I had a worse experience than dealing with Sue at Statewide Funding. I received unprofessional service, a late appraisal, false deadlines for submitals, request after request for more documents (and when I finally pushed back and said enough, then the documents requested were no longer necessary) and multiple delays in closing. I've re-financed at least 5 times over the past 3 years with Sue and Alan Pearlstein at Statewide. They have always found me the best rates compared to other lenders I've investigated, and always at NO cost to me. I even received a few hundred dollars toward lowering my principal balance on my last to re-fis! They keep me in mind and let me know every time rates drop. Mortgage lenders require LOTS of paperwork, but the Pearlsteins keep my papers on file so I have less to submit next time. The estimates the lenders send are usually inaccurate and difficult to decypher. The numbers I get at the begining from Sue always match the final closing costs. Sue sends me documents online and sends a notary to my home at night for closing so my wife and I don't have to leave work to go to a title company office. Appraisers can be difficult to schedule at times as another reviewer mentioned, but they are chosen by the lender, not the mortgage broker. Lenders also typically do everything at the last minute even when applications are completed long ahead of time. Sue has been great at letting me know when to expect things, and she is always available to answer questions. I've dealt with several other brokers and lenders before Statewide opened for business, and I've never encountered such good service elsewhere! Even with great credit and a high income, real estate financing has become cumbersome since the recent credit/banking crisis. Statewide makes things as easy as possible under the current conditions.
