Glad I checked it out in spite of some bad reviews, and I was skeptical when I walked in because it seemed like a limited selection, more a market than a liquor store, but after working with the staff, who were friendly, and especially another guy who seemed like he might be the owner or manager, I was really impressed. The selection they do have is really good, and the owner guy who ended up helping me really knew his stuff, and showed me a great collection of Tequila's and Vodkas. I found an old favorite (Pau - Maui based vodka), and a new one to me made in Poland (Luksusowa) which is really good! They also have a large selection of sample bottles like you get on airplanes, for a dollar or two each, so I tried another of his recommendations and loved it (Krol - Ukrainian and also excellent). Overall I was surprised and really pleased with my tasty and reasonably priced purchases, I'll definitely be going back! read more

I was looking forward to buying several bottles of alcohol here, as I have in the past, but no one had masks on today. It was okay when it was just 3 employees in the small space, but as I was in the shop, about 5-7 more people came in to shop- none of which had masks. I've enjoyed the customer service and fair prices in the past, but I won't be back until they can make it safe. read more

Last time I was in Grass Valley I decided to drop by The Station House before picking up some groceries at Briar Patch. Up until the 90's, my late grandpa would drag my sister and I into this place - while he bought his cigarettes and beer, we got to pick out soda and candy. I was secretly hoping the place would be untouched - they'd still carry Mr. Pibb and it would still have the musty vanilla tobacco essence I fondly remembered. Instead the place had been flipped around, registers moved from the original spot and it smelled of fried food. Obviously if you're reading this, you don't care about how the place was almost 20 years ago - what this place was lacking in nostalgia they made up for in their beer selection. German/Italian/Japanese/etc. beers - Local beers - Craft beers from every state - 40's and get shit faced off two 24 packs beers - I can't vouch for the food but this place has what you need to imbibe. The staff was sweet and let me randomly reminisce and babble about how excited I was to find such a huge selection of beer. read more

I don't typically have a good experience with this place. The owner/s are very friendly and knowledgeable but seem inauthentic. The cashiers and owners never come out from behind the counter to talk to the customers about their product inquiries. Just seems like a miserable place to work. I feel sorry for the employees and regular customers. They advertise on Doordash with images of hamburgers and hotdogs, and fountain drinks. They do not sell any hot foods I don't think. Just creepy vibes. I have had random people solicit me in their parking lot, which is a red flag for human trafficking. Please be safe out there everyone. read more

I WAS a loyal customer up until I started getting ripped off by the employees there. This is ONLY the most recent incident: I gave a friend $20 bill to go get a few things there and when the teller gave her only a few pieces of silver change she said "Where's the rest of it" and the clerk said "You only gave me a ten". Not only did she not even give correct change for a $10, but she said that I have to wait for the owner to come in and look at the security tapes. The clerk wouldn't even take my phone # until I practically forced her to, then she started to act condescending and rude. BOTTOM LINE: They will rip you off on prices, then take your money to add salt to the wound. Other rating sites give Station House a 2-Star review & also go on to mention how shady and gross the store is on a daily basis. I spent over $100/mo there, now I will never return AND am going to tell everyone who will listen not to go there. There's a Shell station down E. Main st only 1 1/2 blocks from Station House... Go there instead!! You will be glad that you did. read more
