There shouldn't be much to write home about…read more My awe and wonder over them probably betrays the fact that I live in a city that was shortsighted enough to tear out their tram system and replace it with more roads. But there are a few interesting things here. It's an end of the line station so there's no confusion about what direction you're going. That's handy. And there are's a couple restaurants and a small grocery store in case you need a little something to eat. And it drops you off in a town whose literal translation is Jewville. It makes me smile every time I see that sign. A name like that would never fly in the US. But the real fun, the thing that will get your heart truly pumping is the parking lot. The transitions from level to level were built with exactly 10 cm of clearance on either side so fold back those mirrors, pucker up them cheeks and pray for the best. And the only place you can pay for parking is way on the furthest edge of the second floor. So if you parked on the third floor you either stop on the second, walk all the way to the end of the lot, pay, walk all the way back to the elevator and then head to your floor. Or you drive from the third to the second floor, park on the short, flat area, position your car so that the passenger door can open in the only gap in the wall, climb over the center console, pay, climb back over the console and leave. Could they have put a payment machine in some flat spot at the exit? Sure they could. But how much fun would that be?

Our boarding passes were scanned and checked twice on our way to security, once before emigration, again at security, at the gate and then again just before entering the plane... a total of 6 checks while normally it's only 2 or three times at other airports like Heathrow and Tokyo. The queues for everything were very long, especially the emigration queue that we barely made it to our flight. Everything is very slow and inefficient. In terms of shopping and food, there is not much and prices for food are expensive. €1.20 for an apply is a bit much. They have a coffee chain called Paul's which is similar to something like Starbucks, but otherwise there is not much in terms of actual restaurants. There is a PS4 gaming area, Arcade and a media room with a bunch of tablets near the gates to kill time, which I haven't seen at any other airport, which was probably the only good thing I found about Orly. Wifi is free, but you need to sign up with an email address. There are plenty of taxi scammers outside right beside the taxi rank, so be careful or better yet, use Uber. It costs about €45-50 to get to Paris, but the public transport from Orly is very limited otherwise.

This time I was dropping off a rental car at CDG and going back to Paris for my last night - - so naturally I booked LCAF. If you are starting from Terminal 2 E or F in CDG, there is a nice little waiting lounge on the ground level in between the two terminals. You can certainly purchase tickets there, but they have a few monitors to show the times of all the buses. Make sure you are at the stop when you need to be, cause the drivers do not wait long before they take off. Again, very comfortable & affordable airport transfers. Highly recommend!

I have used Easy Jet a few times to get from one European country to another and it sure beats a long train ride. The price is usually always right too, as in being super affordable. This last time I flew Easy Jet out of Orly (Paris) to Marco Polo (Venice) and it was one of the smoothest air experiences I've had. The Easy Jet airport staff was extremely helpful with directions, flight times, any questions really. The cabin crew was attentive, kind and patient.
