What really made this place stand out for me was the huge art gallery upstairs with ever-changing local artists work on display. Some of the artwork was very beautiful. Some of it was very imaginative and a bit weird. The bathroom upstairs was painted and decorated with quotes about the richness of art. The antiques gallery downstairs has a ton of items and little trinkets and collectibles from various eras A the basement is mostly retro. Staff were welcoming and friendly at the counter and encouraged me to view everything and make sure I saw the art. read more

Very interesting antiques on the ground floor and basement levels. Crafts/arts are on the top floor. There are a few booths where you can find mid century furniture and such (these always get my attention). Compared to what I see in the average antique store, the quality here is higher. read more

The store owner is a gem- he loves to chat and is full of knowledge! I happily browsed around the very full antique store! I love store like this and was so happy they were still open when I spotted them! They also have a lovely art gallery upstairs! I did not venture downstairs for more antiques due to time constraints- but if I ever find myself in Staunton again- I will be sure to pop in again! read more

I scoped out a large piece of furniture and some crockery yesterday that I was going in to purchase today but was stopped at the door by some low-information person behind the counter. If he is going to dictate medical intervention on complete strangers, he really ought to read more and keep up. Given he was wearing a mask himself, it can be surmised he reads liberal rags like the Washington Post, which had an article by Faye Flam of Bloomberg, "Mask Mandates Didn't Make Much of a Difference Anyway." Or if he really knew what he was talking about, he could go straight to the CDC's own page. Or a January 14 HuffPost article by Lydia Connor, "CDC Acknowledges Cloth Masks are Less Effective Than Others." "Less" being a equivocation for useless. Or before this man began prescribing totally useless medical injunctions to customers, he could read an article in Anthony Fauci's NIH journal from 2008 in which Fauci as the head of the NIH's published report says about the Spanish Flu outbreak of 1918 we've heard so much about lately, "clearly and consistently implicated secondary bacterial pneumonia caused by common upper respiratory flora in most influenza fatalities," says Dr. Morens. I'm really sorry to have to do this , but I've been here many of times and there are some very rude employees, that I and my Family members have had multiple negative experiences with. If it wasn't for the kind and professional Kitty , I would never have returned here. Mind you , I'm a repeat customer here , not just a " looky lou ", and have purchased a good amount of merchandise on various occasions. Aside from Kitty, whom is wonderful , the other Employees I've encountered have been rude , making snarky comments and such . This is not acceptable. As for it being an "Antique" shop , well , I've lived MANY different places all over this Country and have been to hundreds of Antique shops ranging from the smallest towns in America to Some of the largest Wealthy cities in the States ( in various formats of stores , ranging from private booths to shows to complete owner run / owned items / displays) , and this is the only place that has " hard prices " and does not negotiate on anything ( which is basically the premise Antiquing ) , that I have ever encountered. Living in Staunton and speaking to others that have frequented here with similar experiences , I don't think this is a good reflection on the town. read more
