I am in LOVE. With this restaurant. I'm so glad I waited to go to both Michelin-starred restaurants I had reservations for in Rome before writing reviews. Because after the first one, I was happy. But this one was an EXPERIENCE. First of all, our waiter was wonderful, patient with all the questions and food restrictions, and funny when it came to describing the food and convincing my less adventurous companions to try something new. We got the 4-course tasting menu and I am pleasantly full, though I didn't expect to be with the smallest option, along with the 3-paired cocktails addition. We got a fish-cheese sushi-type amuse-bouche that was just delightful with all the salty flavors. My first course was the raw beef in a watery tomato sauce, paired with a margarita. The beef was interesting and good, but the margarita was what amazed me. Unlike every other margarita I've had in my life that is too sour and gross, this one was classically made--strong, and all the right levels of flavor; for the first time I think *ever*, I didn't want it to end. My second course deserves its own paragraph. I got "risushi"--the sushi risotto--and it blew me away. It was a melding of flavors--wasabi, salty salmon, ginger, cream, tangy lime. When I asked the waiter to describe it when I was ordering, he said: "It's like a POINT and then another, different POINT, and then another POINT." I had no idea what he was talking about until I ordered it. It was like nothing I've ever eaten, it was genius, and it was totally lots of POINTs--a different flavor profile with every move of your mouth. If they had brought it for my 3rd course, I would have happily eaten it again. I know that I will continue to crave it long after I've left Rome. I can't even remember what cocktail was paired with it because it blew all other flavors away--although I do recall it being a good, unique drink with carrot powder on the rim! Back to the normal food. The 3rd course was the spaghetti aglio nero--a black pasta with ricotta and the *slightest* of fishiness. It was delicious, bite after bite, and I was so happy with it. It was again, as my waiter described it: "Flat. And then the next bite, flat. And then flat." Lots of flats, not different points....but very good flats that I would totally order again because you know to expect each one to be so tasty. It was paired with a sweeter cocktail with St. Germaine, again very good. And for dessert, I had the apricot--which was laid out in beautiful art along with some creams and laced sugars, and which was the perfect, light end to the meal. And then a couple of sweets with our bill--a sweet cream, meringue, and chocolatey-peanut ball. If I lived in Rome, I would take everyone I know and be here all the time. This place even convinced my non-foody friend to appreciate the experience of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful night!! read more

Disappointing. The promise of a modern, up and coming restaurant with a recently earned Michelin Star. Expectations were high. I would pass over this and look to other options in Rome for a great Michelin meal. Reservations made well in advance. (Party of 4.) The restaurant called to confirm the reservation ahead of time increasing my confidence that we we up for a great experience. The first challenge was finding the restaurant. The local driver struggled to find it and we found ourselves in a graffiti ridden neighborhood. One wrong turn and we came across a group of locals warming their hands over a fire (really.) Actually, not far off our destination, we backtracked and made it to the restaurant. Despite the neighborhood, the scene is modern, open, inviting. The restaurant is full of artwork and interesting decorative details. We thought the restaurant might be empty due to our early reservation. During our 3 hours at the restaurant, it never filled. The menu is offered with 4, 6 or 8 courses. If you choose 6 or 8 then all at the table need to order the same courses. The service was poor. There was one waiter for the entire restaurant. He was not helpful in suggesting courses and not attentive to the table. The staff was not sufficiently knowledgeable about the wine on the list. After a couple of tries, we found a good wine and were disappointed to find that we could not order a second bottle as they only had 1 bottle in stock. Given the Michelin star, service should be outstanding. Amuse-Bouche - we were offered a small taste that was described as 'ham and toast'. It seemed to be a cube of aspic sandwiched between two black(!) crisps. Visually, not appealing. Taste -not good. VITELLO TONNATO - appetizer The only highlight of the night. Sitting in a ponzu broth, a handful of delicate veal pieces wrapped, like wontons, around tuna cream. Two flavors you can't imagine together and absolutely delicious CALAMARO RIPIENO - appetizer Sizable pieces of calamari, wrapped around spinach and cheese and served with grilled greens. Tastes were fair but the calamari was not sufficiently prepared and tough to cut and eat. RISOTTO Visually unappealing. Flavors ok. CARNE DELLA SETTIMANA Flavors were good, but the cut of meat was skirt steak - just not a tender piece of meat. RAVIOLI DI CODA Good flavors. Seriously under seasoned. BABA A round light case infused with cream. Reminded me of a tres leches cake in preparation but not nearly as flavorful or sweet. Did not finish. CIOCCOLATO A pile of chocolate on the plate. DOLCE BIANCO Meringue, cream and almond paste. Tastes ok. Presentation artistic, but not appealing. read more

Really lovely space and delicious cuisine make this definitely a place to visit. The restaurant is a bit tucked away, but worth a visit. We had a very pleasant experience dining here and were treated very kindly by the staff. Would absolutely recommend. read more

8 passages Carta Bianca by Chef Luigi Nastri was a work of art!!! From the AmberJack beginning to the last dessert the meal was full of ups and 1 down down! The black Garlic noodles left me a little disappointed but that was the only thing that didn't have my palate jumping!! The wine was excellent and fairly priced just like the menu !! I would go 100 times again and menu only has 19 items !!! The atmosphere was very relaxing and thoughtful!!! The Old Jazz music went hand & hand with the distinctive tones and colors on each plate along with the boisterous flavors!! I was very impressed!! read more

Very nice place in a different very trendy area. You will not find this place easily but it is worth the uber out to get here or the bus from central Rome. Trendy, clean, bright with outdoor dining. Everything you could ask for. The chefs pre-meal selections were ideal and almost better than the main course! read more

We got the 6-course tasting menu with pairings. We also got cocktails before the meal, which were designed to order and were very good. Total bill for 4 came out to ~$400. Food: - Chickpea soup with sun-dried tomato (the amuse bouche): Tasty, but not amazing - Gnocchi with cherry tomatoes and mozzarella foam: The highlight of the night - perfectly done - Mackerel 2 ways (grilled and tartare): Way overcooked and tough, and neither the sauce nor the fish was very flavorful - "Risushi" Risotto with wasabi and soy sauce, topped with salmon roe and tuna sashimi: A heretical idea, but the execution was not good enough to justify such and unusual combination. - Steak with carrot puree: The second best course of the night; perfectly cooked - Trio of desserts and cappuccino foam: Nothing particularly stood out Pairings were good, but not exceptional. The server/sommelier made the interesting choice of pouring the same white for two courses back to back, which I've never seen before, but actually worked out pretty well. Service was good and attentive. They were able to accommodate the 5 year old in our party with some pasta and cheese, no questions asked. The location was very interesting - big windows opening up to an urban garden. Overall, the food was good but somewhat uninspired. The fish dishes need more work from the chef, they are far from Michelin quality as-is. I would skip this place next time, and opt for one of the other excellent restaurants in the area. read more

We really enjoyed our meal. Great food, service and cocktails. It isn't easy to get to but that makes it more appealing . Few tourists .
