Terrible. Decided to give them another shot because it had been quite awhile. Chili was watery and flavorless, reminiscent of diarrhea. Service was god awful, not a single kind word and thoughtful encounter. Whenever the food was ready the cook literally whispered our name. I have been to this location several times and it never misses! You come in, order at the screens and your food comes out. Our orders are always correct and the food is always fresh and comes out fast. Steak N Shake has increased their prices in the last few years (who hasn't), but they are still inexpensive. I was really in the mood for Steak 'n Shake. This one is a little far out but at least it's right on 40. I ordered a Double steak burger with cheese, pickle, and onion and a chili mac with cheese and onions. I wasn't too jazzed about the burger but I thought the chili mac was delicious and tasted just like my childhood. I'd go back for that but I'm not too sure about the burger. It didn't have a lot of flavor. Also they changed the pickles. Sad face. It looked the same inside except the front counters had automated kiosks where you order and there was a counter in the back with self-serve drinks, napkins, etc. I guess they don't accept cash? The new owners of this location are really great! We met them during our last trip there, and they are amazing! And they do all (or almost all) the work themselves! It's a refreshing change to be greeted sincerely by someone who appreciates your patronage and doesn't act like you're keeping them from something! Keep this in mind when the line is slow, or your order isn't exactly on time. Have some patience. Not everything has to happen in split seconds. Be patient. The food is good, fresh and hot. The shakes...well everyone knows how good the shakes are! We should support our locally owned businesses.
