Beautiful quiet spot to check out on a mildy chilly winter weekend. There was barely anyone at the state park and it was serene and peaceful to spend an afternoon walking around. Since I haven't been in the summer when I feel you can really take advantage my opinion is definitely skewed but it's worth the short and beautiful drive from Steamboat (about 50 minutes). The park was $9 to get in and you also have access to go to Pearl Lake with the day pass, but out of the two options this one was definitely better. There's a short hike about 1.1 miles called Tombstone nature trail. Looking forward to going back sometime in the summer when there's more to explore and I can spend time on the water. read more
