Relax and unplug in one of our fourteen rustic log cabins nestled among the aspens in the historic mining town of Columbine, Colorado. The town, on the National Register of Historic Places, features an impressive lodge and modern shower house, an inviting wood-fired sauna, an authentic General Store, and plenty of tall tales to share around the campfire. Rent the whole town including the well-stocked commercial kitchen for weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats, and special group events; or just rent a cabin for a quiet romantic getaway. Located at the base of Hahn's Peak in northern Routt County Colorado, we're near the Routt National Forest, Steamboat Lake, Pearl Lake, Hahn's Peak Lake and the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness. Hundreds of miles of trails for year round activities are right out your doorstep.
There are various activities in the area that you can enjoy including cross country skiing and snowshoeing. You can ski or snowshoe from your cabin door. There are over 100 miles of groomed snowmobile trails accessible from Columbine. Dinner/Sleigh rides and dog sledding tours around Steamboat or Hans Peak. There are many options for dining near Columbine as well as options for Helicopter tours.
History
Established in 2015.
We are new owners since June of 2015 which rents cabins on a nightly basis. The previous owners operated Columbine Cabins since 1994. The town of Columbine was formed in 1897 to support mining claims on nearby Hahn's Peak.
Meet the Business Owner: Todd Z.
Todd and his wife Tammy became the new owners of the historic mining town of Columbine, Colorado in June 2015. Minnesota natives, they enjoy the myriad of year round activities that this North Routt county location has to offer. They love to hike, bike, ski, hunt, and fish. They also both enjoy sharing all that Columbine has to offer with their guests, especially the opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life - to relax, unplug, and unwind. They are building on the lengthy history of this town and its cabins by preserving their character and providing quality, rustic lodging.
