It's fairly big, and with those windows in front it's also bright! With an array of yarns to choose from hanging along the walls, there is plenty of inspiration here. This shop caters to knitters, crocheters, and spinners - with fibre and needles for all your needs! Spinning wheels too!! I can't wait to start - and finish, and wear! - the socks from yarn I purchased here! Open space in the centre of the shop provides comfy seating, so that you can try out your new purchases. It's a bit like a thrift store with a little of everything, and a bit like a hardware store, with a selection of oilers, sinks, vanities, and kitchen cabinetry. I've signed up for their Facebook group page, and they post pictures when new items come in. This is a good way to lure people in! They have a lot of useful items at very good prices, and since it's resale, based on donations, they don't change tax. The staff and volunteers are knowledgeable and helpful. When they don't know the answers to your questions, they ask for assistance and get your answer! It's a large store, located on hwy 29 heading north out of town. Give yourself enough time to poke around through their stock. We've had success a couple of times finding tiles for home renovations but you have to have patience to go through the stock.

They have an incredible collection of skate boards, clothing and foot wear... as well as a SICK little coffee shop in the middle of it. Make sure if you are here to try their Lemon Drop. This was our first time having a drink like this and let me tell you the idea of Lemonade and coffee together have never crossed my mind, but WOW! It was so refreshing, yet a great deal of energy boost. Enjoyed better with their delicious matcha cookie and nutella tart. Service was superb! It felt like meeting a new friend for the first time and hitting it off naturally. What a great way to make someone feel welcome to their establishment, also ask for their recommendations! Some of us tried different drinks too, like their Thai iced coffee and we were so pleased with the recommendation. After we all grabbed our coffees, we noticed they had a patio in the back, so we decided to chill there and take a break before continuing with our day. It was such a quirky and cali warm vibe there, we almost wanted to stay all afternoon!! If you can't find what you're looking for, just ask any of the staff. I once owned an old stove-top percolating coffee maker and the glass stopper at the top broke. Not knowing where to start looking for something like this, I went to Donovan's. Once I described the item, the only questions I was asked were "How many?" and "What colour?" Yeah, they've pretty much got everything.

Focussing on local stories for Gananoque and the surrounding area, the Reporter has won several awards for small community newspapers. Though now part of a larger conglomerate, and even with a web presence now (http://www.gananoquereporter.com/), they still report the local news and sports in a chronicle of the week's events. I've moved from Gananoque several years ago, and my parents gave me a subscription to the paper as a gift. It's nice to be able to catch up on my hometown once a week and see who of my old friends is doing what. Nostalgia is pretty good sometimes.
