The only real bakery in Wengen, and luckily everything was fresh and delicious! I especially enjoyed their shortbread bar cookies...

This was a perfect spot to grab pastries before boarding the train. Our group of 4 were very happy with our selections. We just wish we had not waited until our last day staying in Wengen to try it. read more

I was in Lauterbrunnen just before the winter season started so most of the shops and restaurants were closed. But this was open so was my regular breakfast spot. The coffee from a machine (it's Switzerland, what do you expect) was always fine. The pastries and other breakfast things good too. Note: the store is a little pricey. I like supporting the independent so I didn't care too much, but if you need or want to save 10 to 20%, many of the things here can be found just down the street at the Co-op. read more

We bought bread daily during our week stay in Lauterbrunnen. The bread was great on its own or used for sandwiches. The chocolate pastries were divine and the lemon ones were heavenly. Based on our positive experiences, we were going to eat dinner there but unfortunately for us they had closed at 5 pm. Oh well - there is always next time! :) read more

This review is for lunch. We haven't tried their bread, it might honestly be great. Our family ate lunch at this place and was extremely disappointed. My pizza was clearly of the microwave variety, and my daughter (age 10) actually cried when I suggested she try to finish her burger... and she was starving, having walked from Wengen to Trümmelbach falls with no snacks. The meals contained no extras like chips or fries, and none were on the menu. I guess we should have suspected when we saw the ultra low Swiss prices ("Are they missing a digit?"), but the food was small and really poorly executed. I recommend that this place completely change their approach to lunch, perhaps highlighting their own bread products in their offerings... or title their menu "small snacks" and leave it at that. That said, the service was excellent. :/ read more

We were in Wengen for 4 days and came here almost daily. Pastries, sandwiches and coffee are…read moredelicious. They have a breakfast sandwich- egg and bacon - that is good. This was a good find, because we didn't find any other viable option for breakfast in Wengen. Some workers speak English, others don't...whether an English-speaking customer can be understood is hit-and-miss. I learned some German before our trip to Switzerland, so was able to get by when I discovered during one visit that no one understood English. (I got out of the line and brushed up on a few words before getting back in line). Pleasant atmosphere; though it can get crowded. There is no seating, two small, waist-high tables outside where you can stand and eat (there is a rock wall and a park across the street, where you can sit and eat) The service is kind and (mostly) patient. None of the above is meant as a criticism, the "negatives" are there just to inform. If we are ever back in Wengen, you can bet that we'll return here. I wish I'd tried their chocolates.
