Our friends and family continue to comment on our pictures and how amazing our photographers must have been). With that we decided to use Evantide Photography for our wedding photos. Once again - GORGEOUS! Our wedding was in the Lake Tahoe area and Aaron and Meg spent a few days prior to the wedding scoping out the location, mountain lighting, and finding the perfect photo locations. I was incredibly hesitant to go with an out-of-town photographer, but with the pictures and locations you'd never guess they weren't native to the Tahoe region. In addition to the gorgeous photos, Aaron and Meg are simply wonderful to work with. When we first met them for our engagement photos we were laughing almost the entire time. What I really liked was that they told us what looked good and what .... could look better (as far as poses go). I'm really no model so I really appreciated having someone tell me where and how I should stand for the most-flattering photo. As far as the wedding goes, Meg was incredibly organized with timelines and the important-players. I had a wedding planner that I anticipated would help with that type of stuff - but instead Meg came through and picked up the slack so that I wouldn't have to. Long story short: My husband and I are so incredibly grateful for these two photo-geniuses.

The day of the wedding, Sarah and her assistant Beckie came early to take "getting ready" photos of both parties. Then, we headed to a nearby park to take wedding party photos. Sarah and Beckie continued to keep the energy light and happy throughout the 2 hour shoot before the wedding. The wedding ceremony, reception, family and dance photos are exceptional. Sarah and Beckie captured hundreds of memories, laughs, and moments of joy. They meshed well with the wedding party and felt more like guests than hired photographers. We never heard from her. Upon reaching out again she apologized and stated she had a death in the family. But indicated she'd still do our session as scheduled. It is the day of the session and we have emailed,texted, called and tried to reach on various social media and have heard nothing. She has completely ghosted us with our money and a signed contract. We feel hurt and disappointed and upset by this level of unprofessionalism. While we understand things happen we just wanted to have communication and know if she needed to cancel due to a family situation. We would have understood. This was unacceptable.

As a light-skinned Pacific Islander, I often felt uncomfortable with my appearance... until I moved to the continental us for college. But even then while I felt adequately assimilated, my soul felt split. This experience has helped me to love myself wholly and fully, marrying my two selves that I had kept separate for too long.
