A combination of old wood, dog, a recent fire and lots of leather. Perhaps an unusual and unexpected olfactory juxtaposition but a surprising pleasant one. Almost intoxicating. The sign outside has a picture of a leather punch on it and leaves no doubts or ambiguity about the main purpose of this store. Lots of leather items and tools scattered around and the people here deal with leather with confidence and skill. They can whip you up a belt, jacket or just about anything else in leather with ridiculous ease, skill and speed. Besides the leather goods the store also has a menagerie of other fascinating things. Exquisite glass pieces and unique and distinctive Xmas ornaments or beautiful lamps grace the ceiling and walls. Clocks, time pieces, strange dolls and even some scrimshaw add to the evocative and visual stimulation. A great place to visit on a cold Nantucket day. Nice warm fire, friendly and knowledge people and an even a happy dog to great you. A unique and anachronistic shop that will excite all of your senses and imagination. When Victor told his sandals where at a whole different level of comfort than any other sandal I'd worn, I thought there was a bit of salesmanship going on. Of course being in the diverse and occasionally profligate confines of Provincetown, the cool sign gets a bit of attention. The inside of the store is small and cramped but packed with all sorts of leather things. Zillions of belts, bags and some very nice jackets. If it's busy you have to squeeze through the narrow aisles but everyone is friendly and patient and the fellows working there are very willing to assist and show you anything you want to see. Some of the items are quite expensive and extremely nice while other stuff is for the more modest budget. A friend of mine was looking for a new motorcycle jacket and since she is rather petite had to try on quite a few before she found the perfect one. The staff never rushed or became frustrated with her and recommended one after another. I needed a new belt since I discovered leather doesn't like salt water and I found several that should last me a while. Even though it was busy and we both hate shopping we had a great time in that diminutive store. A cool place to check out if you don't object to leather, this place is vintage P-town. Different, eccentric but like most of P-town, never loses it's sense of humor.

Very disappointed that they wouldn't work with me - I had the receipt and it's a bit of a stretch that I was trying to milk them out of a 2nd ~$30 bracelet. So much for shopping local. These guys make jackets meant to last a lifetime, and survive motorcycle crashes, and they've been doing it since 1974. They also just fit better. Be patient on items not in stock, and you will be glad you did. There's nothing else out there like it. This is a 5-star product all around, made by a family owned business that knows what they are doing. This is not a big box store offshore produced instant gratification product.

It wasn't until I started earning a decent living that I could spend for a new one. New or used, their leather has saved me on some long and hairy slides. I took the jacket to one tailor earlier today, he took one look at it and said there's nothing he can do with it. Eye roll... I went here and May, she can do pretty much anything and everything! Her work is incredible and top of the line. She was able to get me measured and showed me the alterations she was gonna make on the jacket. In the past I have purchased all my Longchamps at Nordstrom only because I live right by the Natick mall, and I never really thought twice about it. I was on Loncahamp's website looking at the bag and clicked on "locate a store near you" Nordstrom came up so I called up and asked if they had the bag in stock. Turns out they didn't carry the bag. I then thought to myself.. I could buy it online...but then I might not like it. For such an expensive purchase I wanted to make sure I loved it. The other store that was listed was London Harness Company. I hadn't heard of them before, but I am very familiar with Wellesley Center so I thought I'd call them up. I called up and gave them the SKU from Longchamp and the man was very helpful in telling me that they did indeed carry my so desired bag. About 20 mins later I drove over and met the man I spoke with on the phone. The store was quiet and he showed me the bag. I tired on many colors and then decided on one. For such an expensive bag I feel I made the purchase the right way and am happy I supported a local store rather than a chain like Nordstrom.
