We went to this store because it is very close to our work and of course is Estefano's, but the tattoo artist DAMAGED my valentine gift ... my husband and I showed a picture of the tattoo that we wanted and the tattoo "artist" Alejandro at that moment he accepted, we set the time and day, at that point everything was normal. At the day of my appt the tattoo artist arrived 1 HOUR LATE, no one in the store could locate him, once he arrived he gave us a stupid excuse, we tried to make the most original tatto at his suggestion (I didn't understand why he couldn't just copy what we wanted). In the end I get a thick tattoo like sharpie drawing, my first and only tatto ended up HORRIBLE, my self-esteem is on the floor and sad of seeing my gift ruined... I absolutely DO NOT recommend this shop, the owner should be a little more careful with the tattooists who work there they could ruin someone skin like with me, there is no customer service, I think they just want you to come in and leave your money, they don't care about the feeling or meaning that a tattoo can have in a person ... stay away from this TATTOO SHOP !!!! read more

My artist was supposed to be erik until he decided to mock my tattoo and be extremely rude to me. Instead of working and consulting with me he went across the street for fifteen minutes to get a arizona green tea and as a result i received a unproportioned image printed offline. He did not appreciate it when i asked for better markup of the tattoo he was taken back and had an attitude which made me feel extremely uncomfortable as a client willing to get tattooed. update 12-18-19 The owner of the shop, who did not disclose his name took the liberty to use my information on my application to contact me. Instead of apologizing for the experience I had being mocked by one of his artists at his shop, she apologized because he wanted me to take this review down. It is obvious his priority is the five star rating of the shop, which can explain why there are only 5 star ratings. I consider my body my passport, and having Erik tattoo me would be considered a violation. And for the owner to text me with his personal number to demand I take down this interview is beyond any interaction I have ever had at any shop anywhere. My experience was perfect the artist had done amazing work it was outstanding my artist was nick . I had wanted a kind of realistic blanka tattoo, but I got more than expected it was perfect I mean it looked better than the game's graphics. I actually thought it was blanka himself. This has taken me a few months to process, for one because we were in the process of completing so many other tasks related to my own private business. I want to give an honest review of my last tattoo experience with Nick and not necessarily a reflection of the whole studio. It would be fair to say my first experience with Nick was positive and it was a pleasure receiving my first tattoo from him. Though there were red flags. For one, this tattoo artist is habitually late. Every time we have scheduled a time to meet he has arrived no earlier than an hour after our scheduled time. Be prepared to block off the whole day because this man does not respect your time. It was something his fellow artists notice and chuckle about as well. On the planning of my second piece with him, I gave him ample notice of my design inspiration and offered to meet with him a few days ahead and had a rigid time constraint being I have regular client meetings. Nick was 15 minutes late despite my advising him of this and that left me with just a 20 minute window. I was hoping that he would work on what he could throughout the week and we would be perfecting the design until Saturday (we met on Wednesday). I was clear to express myself and my partner wanted to color in other work which we had agreed upon before and he would need to meet no earlier than 6pm, and he nodded in agreement. I thought we had a set schedule and was prepared as much as I could for things to go smoothly. What I received was literally the opposite of that. On the day we were scheduled I waited at least 2 hours for him to show up only to learn that he had created a design haphazardly in the last minute and mistook my husband for myself in messages on Instagram (mind you my handle is clearly my name and his handle is clearly masculine). He seemed annoyed I wouldn't approve to tattoo permanently on my skin a design that he only just threw together and not sensitive at all to my concerns or the modifications. He was combative about every modification and even went so far as to belittle my judgement about what would "look good" on my own skin. He spent another 1-2 hours redesigning the tattoo and we were there until 2-3am. I wanted to give him so much of a shot because my previous experience was great but this was just foul. While he was redesigning the work he was complaining to his coworker. While he was finishing up and even though we were not finished with the coloring he was complaining and gaslighting me like it was my fault that I didn't want something on my body he threw together that wasn't what I wanted. I did not complete my tattoo with him, we got as far as some shading and the outline but the color and end result I would prefer with someone who is more respectful.... it doesn't matter whether his work looks in any way cool, which I will admit some of it does. It's not worth being treated like shit. I'd rather pay more to someone else and be respected. read more

I went in for my first tattoo, and I was pretty excited because the tattoo I chose was relatively simple. I'm not sure what her name was, but she is the only woman that works there. She was the one who did my tattoo. I've seen some of her work that she has done and it looked really good and she was super nice during the whole process. I left thinking that it turned out amazing when in fact, it was super sloppy. Now i have to go somewhere else and HOPEFULLY get it fixed. Every other artist though was extremely nice and they did my friends tattoos, which turned out amazing. I recommend you coming here for a tattoo, just don't get it done by her. read more

On Friday, March 17, 2023 they had a $50 shop special for flash. That's a great deal and probably well below shop minimum. I'd picked my flash out of the book, and the page confirmed, "shop special $50 flash" also, the artist then said, "that one will be $70." I'm not new to getting tattooed, and if I'd booked an appointment, it'd be a shop minimum tattoo all day, and I understand that. but how in the hell do you look me in the face and lie to me? As a native South Floridian who loves tattoos, I have been on the hunt for a studio that only has top notch artists who can create totally clean and crisp tattoos.. WELL I FOUND MY PLACE! This studio is clean and has a really "cool" feel. Definitely not pretentious. Walked in on a Monday when they opened and was greeted by Marco. Let him know that I wanted a small/medium size pineapple on my ankle with two little hearts on the body to signify my daughters. He said no problem, had me email him some pineapples I liked, and within an hour he was ready to go. I'm REALLY HAPPY with the result. He was willing to do color if I wanted, but I trusted his artist discretion and decided to go with his preferred style of black and white. Okay, this review has nothing to do with the majority of the artists or the shop itself, it has to do with one artist in particular, so I do recommend that you venture into this shop and speak with the other artists. They are outstanding, especially the portrait artist. As an artist myself(not tattoo), I'm rarely intrigued by many other artists, and I'm extremely picky on who I wanted to do my forearm tattoo, but this shop has some serious talent, especially Stefano. I'm literally blown away by his work. Anyway, onto the artist. His name is Erick. Honestly, I'll try to make this short. I've had the guy on social media the last six years, promoted his work before he arrived at this shop and after, and told my friends about his capabilities. So when I've asked to get a tattoo done by him and about the details, like pricing, time, etc, he would only tell me "it will take about four hours." But never really gave me a price per hour or tattoo, and at the time I didn't even know he charged hourly. He was very dodgy about it and kept telling me to come to the shop to hang out. Meanwhile, I lived an hour away at the time and worked full-time so it wasn't easy to get down there. So fast-forward about a year with having no social media or anything and moving to Broward, I made an instagram just to get ahold of him because I really wanted my forearm tattoo. I had saved up a lot of money for something of quality, and I felt like I owed it to him because I've always talked about getting the tattoo from him. Don't get me wrong, just because I've known him on social media doesn't mean I expect any discounts or anything, I pay good money for good work. So again I asked some questions and got no answers. He told me to come by the shop when he was doing someone else's tattoo. I decided alright. Went to the shop. Paid for parking. And when I finally met him, he didn't discuss the piece I wanted, where was good to fit it on my arm, price, absolutely nothing. He just said "yeah, I can do that. When do you want to get started?" So I'm thinking he means a consultation. No. He was trying to pull me up to the receptionist to get a security deposit down without answering any questions. I felt super rushed and finally asked "well, what is this going to cost approximately? I need to know before I just put a deposit down?" And he hesitates and finally tells me he charges $200 an hour and it was going to be 3-4 hours of work. Like finally I get a price which he could've said over message. I drove all the way to the shop to get thrown into a security deposit without having a consultation about the actual piece I wanted. And after he gets me locked in on a sale, he says goodbye and that's it. It took six minutes for this happen. The past two days I've tried to ask him questions on social media and just have general conversation since we were going to be sitting together for a while, and after I told him I was in a relationship, I hardly heard from him. He just started liking all my messages and not responding to anything but was on social media all day. Not saying it was anything but I Just felt very awkward after noticing that. So I'm going to bite the $106 security deposit because I will look elsewhere for someone who is as passionate about their art as I am, and I will pay them good money to put their art on my body. read more

This review is intended to hopefully make the management of this tattoo shop aware of what NOT to say and to be better in the future.  Firstly, it's clear they do great work from the gallery of various artists.  I don't want to knock the work-- it looks fantastic. I live nearby Stefano's Tattoos and the shop came recommended by a friend.   I was very happy to see a place of this quality in my neighborhood.  I intended to get my hands tattooed.  The guy who did my consultation really gave the design a lot of thought and was very friendly.   He took ahold of my hand and as he was looking my hand over--- still holding it--- he said, "btw, no homo."  I didn't say anything (I should have) but I was honestly disappointed and it led me to decide to not get a tattoo here.  This is Lauderdale, one the American cities with the highest concentration of gay people. For the life of me, I can't imagine why a straight man would feel the need to say "no homo" (like an immature middle-schooler) just because he's holding another man's hand who is a potential client---while trying to figure out a hand tattoo design.  Because the work they do is so good, it was hard for me to turn away from Stefano's Tattoo Studio.  I've had such excellent work done in DC and Austin by some fantastic tattoo artists.  But honestly, I can't support a business here in Lauderdale that is homophobic, especially when this shop is surrounded by a vibrant gay community.   Hopefully the management will read this and make some changes in the way they talk to customers. read more

Care for your Artist and they will care for you! I made an impromptu appointment with the artists. I was looking for a traditional Americana piece with a the lucky number 7 and horseshoe. I was paired with Marco. He has a great light touch and very very clean line work. He used a rotary gun which I appreciated for the reduced noise and angst it causes. As I sat and chatted with them I overheard Bror and Marco talk about their constant lower back pain and frequent sessions that keep them stooped over and engaged in the posterior chain. We had a small movement session and I hope to have this keep them in tip top shape for more amazing pieces they have yet to create! I got a small anchor tattooed by Matt B today. It came out great. He did very straight lines and the solid black is very solid. It didn't hurt much at all either. I like that their rotary machines are more quiet. Their bandages are also pretty cool medical grade coverings which I've never seen before. On top of that, he is a nice guy. Everyone at the shop was very nice and friendly. The shop has a cool atmosphere because of the artwork and color scheme. I would recommend this shop and Matt, who is very talented with black and grey photo realism. read more

Let me start by saying that I am a person with many tattoos from shops all over the world. This shop, hands down is my favorite thus far. So much so, that I have chosen to write my first review EVER! The artist: my artist was Erick. Erick is professional, kind, and one heck of an artist! He did an extraordinary job understanding my vision and translating it to the perfect tattoo. His technique is precise and results in a vibrant tattoo that has left me, my friend, and my mom beyond happy. The shop: the shop is state of the art and they only use the highest quality products. The other artists are friendly and by the end of your visit you feel like family. I have struggled to leave at the end because I felt so comfortable. The tattoos: my best friend, cousin, mom and I all got tattoos here. The tattoos are sharp, healed great, and were exactly what we wanted. There are some shops in the vicinity, but this one by far hit the mark. If you're looking for a new artist, are visiting and want a tattoo, or are looking for a cover up...this is the place to go. Matt sat down with me and then designed the perfect guitar tattoo for me. What was expected to be 3 hours took 6 but he made it as comfortable as possible. Next to me was Bror, one of the artists who works at the shop, getting tattooed by a guest artist from Colombia who's a color realism artist and did amazing work. They were all very funny and very friendly. Marco stopped in about halfway through ( Marco is another great tattoo artist there who tattooed my wrist on my 18th birthday ) and checked on how everything was going.
