He first tattooed me in 1997 whilst he was serving his time working for another local artist,and since then nobody else has been allowed near my body with ink filled needles or piercing implements of doom.... His apprentice Abi is pretty damn talented too,and the lucky woman has a tattoo by world reknown artist Paul Booth on her hand!!! The actual studio itself is warm and welcoming and seriously friendly.Rob being the type of artist who likes a challenge,he is happiest when he can get his teeth into a bit of custom work. I basically gave him the letters ZOMBI and my forearm and said come up with something. He did,and pretty soon I will have a lovely Zombi tatt to show people who probably have no interest in my arm at all : ) A word of warning though,Rob is a busy man,you generally have to make an appointment to get a tattoo from him,Abi on the other hand, being the apprentice often has more free/spare time. That is how you can generally tell how good a Tattooist is,if you can walk right in off the street and get a tatt done then they are doing something wrong,a good Tattooist is usually booked up for a few months at least (Cancelations not withstanding). You can't beat a good Tattoo,and not many Artists can beat Border Rose......

I visited on the morning of my 40th birthday to see if I could be squeezed in for a little birthday ink. James was on the desk and although all of the artists were fully booked for that day took my number and said he would see what he could do. Lo and behold a few hours later I got a call, jumped in the car and got my birthday tattoo done by James. I love the vibe in Border Rose, even if you are not a personal friend, you soon feel like one. It's always spotlessly clean, professional and a fun place to hang out whilst your other half gets some pain delivered! Go get tattooed there, I dare ya!

Dai is a great tattooist and an all round nice guy, they have a lot of flash or if you prefer you can discuss an idea with Dai and he'll draw up a custom piece for you. Michelle does the piercing, she also has her own line of Custom corsets with embroidered tattoo imagery, the front of the shop is full of jewellery, body jewellery, fascinators, and other bits and pieces from their travels- If you need an alternative gift you should definately have a look in one of the many display cabinets! There is a bit of a waiting list and you will have to pay a deposit, but it's worth the wait! Very clean and very professional.

Noesis tattoo studio is the BEST tattoo studio I've ever been to…read more I went to Noesis tatto studio because three of my mates had their tattoos done there, and were all very very awesome. I had two tattoos done in made in Manchester, and I felt AWFUL. The tattoo artist was extremely rude, impatient, and very grumpy. I really really don't recommned anyone to have their tattoos done there. However, Noesis tattoo studio is completely different. I had my tattoo done with Linggen, she is not only very friendly, she's also very very professional. She spent hours and hours discussed the tattoo with me just to make sure we were both happy about the tattoo. I definitely recommend Noesis tattoo studio!

Book in advance to ensure you get an appointment and rest assured it will be well worth the wait. Even if you don't get the man himself, book with one of his staff as they are all formidably talented at what they do. They have a massive collection of designs for you to pick from and can and will do anything you can think of. My husband has an awe inspiring sleeve of a Morbid Angel album cover which is very intricate and it's an exact replica the detail is that exact, Saz even did a lot of it freestyle as opposed to creating a print of it to use as stencil. As well as tattoo's they also do body piercings etc. Basically if you decide to have a body modification be it a tattoo or piercing, make sure you get a good one that's done well and by someone who knows what they are doing and has an intuitive talent for doing it. Saz fits this bill and goes beyond.
