Bunch of crooks. Horrible customer service. Delivered defective sofa. Refunded us then recharged us. Won't give refund and won't replace damaged sofa!!! Mean and disrespectful to us. Won't return phone calls and send you from one person to the next until you get frustrated and want to give up. I purchased a recliner for my husband for Father's Day 2015. We received kind, helpful service; but the chair itself is junk. We tried out the display model and were satisfied with what we saw. We ordered it, picked it up & assembled it. The back never seated correctly & the craftsmanship is shoddy. They were kind enough to send someone out who tried to fix the back, but ended up ordering a new one. When he came back to assemble it, I pointed out how the fabric down the side of the arms was not attached & he sewed it up for me. Since then a spring has broken off & the material where the leg rest rises is raveling away. Plus, when it reclines, you can feel the board across your lower back. It has been defective from the getgo. We will not patronize this store again. read more

I was told by the sales person that they are the exclusive dealers of KING HICKORY furniture in the area. After I had Purchased my sofa from steinhafels. I found the same one for $925 less at WG&R. The sales person is the biggest liar. after I had said that I had purchased a king hickory sofa a couple of weeks ago at WG&R he said "That could have not been possible because, WE ARE THE EXCLUSIVE DEALER OF KING HICKORY FURNITURE IN THE AREA". Horrible customer service! Walked around the store for a good 20+ minutes tonight and not one employee even said hello to us!! A good 6 people were working, we were the only ones in the store yet they couldn't get up and even ask us if we needed any help. One was reclined in one of the sofas talking on his cell phone. Whoever trained these 'employees' needs a new training program because their employees are rude! I would never buy anything from here or recommend anyone to buy something from here. Steinhafels of Appleton - I never would have guessed that any retailer could be as messed up as you are in regards to treatment of a paying customer. We bought office furniture at the Appleton store during the Memorial Day sale. That's end of May. Making you note that date. Delivery was to be 8 to 10 weeks. No problem right? Sounds good - we'll get it in August, get other accent stuff we need and have our new office done and ready before school starts. Early August, my wife stopped receiving email updates. She called "customer service", and after long waits would finally get through to uninterested people. Delivery dates kept getting pushed back throughout August with no reasons. So now it's out to end of August. I call the sales person. She apologized up and down, telling me how they've grown so fast in Appleton and weren't ready for all this business and they're hiring new CS people and training and there are all sorts of potential reasons why order is late and this in not acceptable and she is going to make us her top priority to find out what is going on. She will call me back with details. Didn't hear from her or anyone. I called on the 8th. She again was so sorry and promised to have managers get on this and call us (she was leaving town and couldn't really help me anyway - nice huh?). The one guy she promised would call never did. The other manager she mentioned did actually send an email. In it, she wasted no time in pointing out that orders can take 8 to 17 weeks to deliver. Um, sorry, but that is NOT what your sales told us at the time of purchase. She also said our order was due to arrive early week of 9/13. Well, it hasn't, and no one has contacted us. My wife emailed today but got the out of office note indicating that she would be out and have no access to email until 9/21. It is Sep 16th. My wife and I both work full time and have young kids. We don't have the luxury of time to constantly call them, only to be put on hold for eternity. All we want is our stuff that we paid $2000 for about 16 weeks ago. It's a shame that this is how Steinhafels chooses to conduct business. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. When I think of Steinhafels, the following words come to mind: UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT, DISINTERESTED, UNTRUSTWORTHY. read more

We bought a mattress, box springs, headboard, and frame from here to be delivered. On the first delivery they had exactly ONE of those items correct. They brought a queen box spring for a double bed. (!). Seems like something they might want to double check while loading the truck?? So we had only the mattress and slept on the floor for a few weeks. After much emailing/calling back and forth, they attempted to deliver the rest of the stuff and still did not bring a frame that would work with the headboard. Have these people seen furniture before? It's amazing they can load up the truck, drive it all the way to the delivery and then be surprised that the pieces that THEY BROUGHT don't work together. The headboard is a decent piece of furniture hence the 2 stars instead of one. Otherwise, with this kind of inept customer service after the sale, we will not be visiting Steinhafels again. read more

Appleton, WI, Store - We were looking for a sofa....instead we found some of the poorest customer service we've ever received. It was a cold day, and we were dressed for the weather. 2 Female sales clerks looked at us, turned, and walked away. That said, we are cash buyers; yet we feel they judged us on appearance. Finally, a male sales person helped us for about 5 minutes. He did not know their inventory, and when we did not immediately see anything we liked, he said "good luck" and walked away. This was our first time visiting Steinhafel's, and it will be our last. Other furniture stores gladly waited on us and help us find what we were looking for. Cindy is the best! We recently purchased a new couch and chair from Steinhafels in Appleton and Cindy was so great to work with. We had our 2 1/2 year old son with us and she took the time to talk and engage with him while we looked around. She wasn't pushy and offered great insight into fabric quality and style. She has really great taste and was so helpful when deciding which fabric to choose for the chair. We will definitely be back to Steinhafels again!!! I have been in the Steinhafels in Appleton on a few separate occasions. The show room is gorgeous and the products are high quality and stylish. I was impressed with the prices as well. The first time we came in we worked with Debby V. She gave us the one-on-one attention that we needed in order to make a purchase of new living room furniture that would suit our family's needs. She physically carried matching pieces and accessories to let us see in person how things would look and spent time taking measurements to ensure the functionality of our selections. She also made sure to check availability of items so we knew when we left exactly what to expect in terms of delivery dates. That was over a year ago and we are still thrilled with our purchase! Last week our daughter needed a new mattress and without hesitation we knew exactly where to go and who to see!! Debby remembered us by name right away. Even though we were only looking to purchase something from the clearance center, she treated our daughter like she was the princess of the day and showed her the best clearance options that they had to make sure she comfortable that she was happy with he choice. If you are looking for a salesperson who will give you personalized attention and who can make sure all your needs are met, I would highly recommend asking for Debby V. When looking for furniture I explored many options in the GB area and even as far as Appleton. When walking into Steinhafels we already had a good idea of what we wanted but or sales person (Scott) we could tell was petty New. After everything we sat on he would be pushy and say something like" how does the rate on your purchase scale". Anyway we did find what we liked there and left the store pretty sure we would call back with a purchase. Instead we stopped in De pere and found the table we were going to buy $200 cheaper. Well no problem Steinhafels will match or beat price. NOT!!!! After the endless calls with the sales rep and manager I am proud to say WE WILL NEVER PURSCHASE ANYTHING FROM STEINHAFELS!!! Thank you WG&R for the amazing service and no hassle price match!!! Needless to say Steinhafels lost over a $4000 sale over $200. Not a good way to start business when you just moved to the area!!!
