Purchased recliner which is "ok." However, delivery men did not hold on to my screen door. Blew into my metal porch railing and top half is bent. 1/4" gap in the door. They quickly requested my sign 3 times so they could leave, not explaining what I signed, and I did not receive a copy of it. DO NOT BUY YOUR COUCHES FROM HERE!!!! They definitely don't make them how they used to. I will never set foot in a Steinhafels for the rest of my life, and I will be telling everyone I know not to shop here either, I will shout it from the roof tops for everyone to hear. They are building a location in my hometown in Illinois and I will be spamming all the local groups about my experience. We bought the 3 piece Snuggler in August, received it in October, it's February now and the wooden frame of the couch has broken FOUR times in two of the 3 pieces. Twice in the piano wedge and twice in the long sectional part. We have the warranty that offers repairs at not cost, but I am absolutely sick of wasting time waiting for repairs, setting aside work to deal with repairmen and delivery men taking the couch in and out, they've banged up my wall 2 times now bringing it out. One of the repairmen that has been to my home twice now told me they don't use quality wood wherever they make these couches, thanks that makes me feel sooo much better with my purchase. And I also have to deal with the fact that I spent thousands of dollars on a defective piece of garbage that I can no longer return. Sigh. I am so disappointed in my experience at Steinhafel's. I was moving and in need of new furniture. I had always heard great things about Steinhafels, and my parents had gotten great pieces over the years. Went in for their July 4th sale, and Jordan waited on us. Because I was moving, I didn't want to pay to move my old furniture, that is silly. Instead, I was having it junked and would get the new pieces in the new place. I was very upfront about this--I didn't mind waiting a bit for pieces, but wanted furniture by early August. Jordan was able to look up what pieces were in stock or back-ordered easy enough. The couch I fell in love with was back-ordered--he said it would be available for delivery by early August, so I went with it. I also got a new chair (I mean, it has to match the couch right?), new bar Istools and a lift-up coffee table. Steinhafel's online site said the couch was expected in late August--I get worried but Jordan warned me they always pad the delivery dates. However, after a couple weeks without furniture (and WFH--this is during the pandemic), I emailed Jordan to get an ETA my couch. Crickets. I then decide to called the general customer service line. They said they didn't know when the couch is coming, but delivery is behind by like 4 weeks--so even if my couch came in the next day, it could be a month before I see it. EEK!!!! I asked if there was any way to get the rest of my order. Luckily, they were able to do it and luckily, again, they had an unexpected delivery opening that Monday! Yay. I was so disappointed in the delivery. They were late after the two hour window (i mean, i get it) but then when they showed up--one of the staff was VERY nice and had a mask on. The other did not. Milwaukee has a mask mandate. They also did not have a dolly, which I really cannot understand. They saw someone else in my apt had one and asked if there was another they could use. Not having a dolly made the delivery take like 3x as long. My coffee table also had a big gouge in it. They said I had 5 days to call and ask for a replacement. I get that things happen, but I was really shocked that Steinhafel's would even deliver a piece of furniture like this. Anyway, the coffee table isn't even why I'm really upset. I call Jordan to follow up on getting a table replacement and also like..when in the world am I getting my couch. He says it should be in by August 7th. I ask about the 4 week waiting period. He said he'd get me to the front of the line. Yay! He also says they cannot coordinate the table replacement with the couch delivery, which....is just annoying during a pandemic, especially when the drivers don't wear masks. August 7th comes and goes...I do not hear from Jordan, and he doesn't respond to voicemails. Sigh, again. Call customer service. They basically admit that yeah...this thing isn't coming in until probably Sept. and their drivers are super backed up(even if you get priority) so I may not see the couch til like...October (!!!). Ok, here's the thing...we're in the middle of a pandemic. Orders are behind. Drivers are behind. I 100% get it. I"m not an awful person. What upsets me is the total lack of communication and updates from Steinhafels. I should have gotten a call/email/something that told me this. Instead of me having to call 2 different people multiple times to try to get answers. Hell--I ordered a $20 shower curtain from Bed, Bath & Beyond and I got an email letting me know that it was delayed. There is absolutely no reason Steinhafels cannot do this! (BTW went to Built Rite--told them I needed a couch ASAP. They delivered a beautiful couch less than a week later, drivers both had masks, and a dolly!) We ordered furniture on February 5th, 2021. We were told we could expect delivery in March. Each month the delivery date gets pushed to the next month. Now they say July, but I'm not holding my breath. They cite COVID as the reason for the delay, but other people that ordered after us have already received their furniture. When we question the delay, they say "Unfortunately delays are very common right now, and the delay that you're seeing is quite normal, though we understand it can be frustrating." My wife and I have spent large amounts of money purchasing "higher quality Amish made furniture " from Steinhafels. We recently purchased Amish made end tables and cocktail table from them. Our order took almost three months to be completed, which was fine since it is supposedly being made to order. When the itams finally arrived it was obvious that all of the hardware was mismatched, and the cocktail table had a mismatched stain color. We notified Steinhafels customer services of the problem, and they sent out a store rep. The rep took photos and stated the stain color was different on the cocktail table. Customer Service contacted us back stating that the color was just the way it was, and they would not replace it. I then contacted management at the Greendield location who stated they will be backing customer services and not rectifying the problem, and if we choose to return the items there would be a 30% restocking fee. It should be noted that numerous individuals have visited our home and commented on the mismatch in color. Also, my family has owned furniture stores along with wood finishing services for five generations. In my prior ten years wood finishing I've never seen such a contrast in stein color that was deemed to be acceptable. Steinhafels states the tables color contrast is acceptable by their standards. I tried to schedule a warranty appt and got nothing but the runaround - they do not honor their warranties, Ben their customer service operator hung up on me, and the mattress is falling apart after 3 years. I used to think that Steinhafels was quality furniture and quality customer service; but it appears now that only half of that is true. I apologize for the long review but this was quite a lengthy episode of disrespect and I'd like others to be forewarned about what they may potentially be getting into with this company. It all started on November 10, 2018 when we special ordered a leather sectional. Why did we special order; because nothing they keep on the floor is functional for sectionals, which is done on purpose, so you have to put 30% down to get your furniture made. That part cannot be financed so they purposely keep useless furniture on the floor so they can do an immediate cash grab. We were told it would be 4-6 weeks for our furniture to arrive and be delivered. Fast forward 6 weeks and we have received no word about our sectional so we contact Steinhafels. We are told it will be another 1-2 weeks because the place that makes the couch has some down time around the holiday. I am OK with that because nobody should be forced to work around the holidays but it does present two problems. First, why was this not mentioned as a possibility when we ordered; Second, why am I finding this out due to my diligence? Shouldn't someone from Steinhafels, like a manager, be calling me to inform me about the delay? Fast forward two weeks later and again we are hearing nothing about our sectional. Once again we reach out the Steinhafels and are told that the couch people are suddenly out of our leather we picked for our couch and it likely won't be in until mid-February. I am a reasonable man and understand things like this can happen but why am I only finding this out because I contacted Steinhafels; shouldn't somebody be reaching out to me with this information? In between all this we were also informed that the color of the legs we chose is no longer available and it only comes in one color. Nothing we can do about that; it is what it is but more on that later. The stars finally align and our couch is set for delivery on 2/9/19 and even better news; the price on our sectional has gone done and we are getting a nice chunk of money back. All we have to do is come in to sign some new paperwork and we'll be all set. My wife takes the afternoon off work to go in because we want to get this all locked down so this delivery happens. She is there over two hours because they are having problems getting our discount to take in the computer (should have been a precursor). While my wife wanders around the store she goes to the display couch we are getting in the store and what does she see; they still have the full color selection out for the legs. If they only come in one color, why is there a panel of a bunch of colors out that you cannot order; because Steinhafels loves to mess with their customers. Finally they get everything wrapped up and she is on her way and our couch is coming the next day. WRONG! We get a call that night, a mere couple hours after my wife left this store. It is from Jordan, the "manager" on duty (i.e. The Court Jester of Sura Lane) saying there has been a mistake and they can't possibly deliver the couch for that price. He keeps rambling on about some computer glitch that nobody has ever seen before that is totally their mistake. We offer to come back in to straighten it out so we can still get delivery but are informed even if we do that there is no guarantee they can still deliver tomorrow because it's been pulled off the truck. THEY PULLED IT OFF THE TRUCK WITHOUT EVEN CALLING US BECAUSE OF THEIR MISTAKE! I inform him that we are not coming in and that they should deliver it and we'll straighten out the price on Sunday. He refuses to deliver it until we come in and I inquire as to why they are holding my furniture hostage to which he replies they are not. You have something of mine that you refuse to give to me until I meet your demands....what would you call that? Despite being a "manager" he says he has no power to do anything about it; congratulations Mr. Manager, you're as useless as a screen door on a submarine. It is straightened out on Saturday morning and they do us a "favor" and squeeze it on the truck for Sunday delivery. Well thank you Steinhafels for doing me such a favor after you cancelled our planned delivery due to YOUR MISTAKE! Here is the one good part about dealing with Steinhafels. Upon delivery we realize we ordered the wrong piece for our sectional. We contact our sales guy to get the right piece and we are only charged the difference between the cost of the two pieces, which is more than fair. I don't know if this is normal company policy or just a guilt concession for how poorly we've been treated. The other good part of this process was our sales guy, "Woody". I called the employee who had helped me spend thousands at Steinhafels and asked her could I get the $120 price, the price before their 'sale'. This would zero stars if possible. On 2/7, my wife and I bought 2 chairs from Steinhafels. As we picked the fabric we wanted, delivery was estimated to be in June. Come June, we had no chairs. Estimate was July, in July the estimate was August and in August the estimate was September. On 8/5 I called to get a better idea of what was going on and was told the chairs had been shipped and may even be here by the end of August. I checked today and now Steinhafels says the estimate is October due to manufacturing delays. I called the support desk and amazingly I got a manager, John Anderson. He has no idea why I was told they are in transit, but said that the current delay is due to manufacturing issues. Steinhafels I am sure knows that if you tell customers that it will take 8+ months to get furniture, their sales would drop, so it seems they gave us a rosy picture knowing full well how long this would take and had no problem lying to me when I called them about it. read more

This place has 1 star for a reason!! Definitely listen to these reviews, they're legit with the experience of this store! Worst place to buy furniture of any type. Bought a mattress from here and all the salesman cared about was making the sale the very day we went. Asked about if a Memorial Day sale would occur which was only 2-3 weeks from when we went to purchase and he straight up said "no, everything for this specific brand is always the same." Lo and behold it's a week before Memorial Day and there's a sale. So they advertise that you can "price match" other competitors but that's completely false they get away from not allowing price matches because they offer their own terrible $200 "Steinhafels cash" with the mattresses. This credit can't be used on anything worth value. Just sheets and pillows which I don't need. I use the same pillow I'm always comfortable with and I have sheets. Not allowed to use it on a foundation either. They pretty much force you to buy "BedGear" brand stuff by over selling on the quality of these over priced sheets. If anything is under the $200 then you can't use the credit. Anyways the mattress I purchased here was cheaper at Mattress Firm and the manager working at this Steinhafels went through everything he could to save him and the business their $100 that it was cheaper at a competitor. I made my statement very clearly, he says he spoke to the "merchandising team" about it but I know he didn't. He was determined to not price match a competitor. It's okay I'll NEVER purchase a single thing from this sh*t business. The manager here even told me Steinhafels "games" their customers. This was legit his words. Apparently every furniture store has their own way to "game their customers" so we as customers get played by a business. What a terrible way to run a business, right? He said the $200 credit is Steinhafels way to game the system and each business has their own way to "game it." Since I was forced to buy this uncomfortable and non-refundable mattress protector and it was a part of the "deal" they can't price match? How does that make any sense? I just want a price match of the mattress. One place has it for $100 less. That's it just the mattress should be price matched nothing else that I purchased should be apart of that but I guess that's the way Steinhafels (in the managers words) "games the system." Anyways this whole experience has me never wanting to buy a single thing from them. I'm purchasing a new house soon and I won't spend a single cent here. I have been a loyal customer of Steinhafels for over a decade. We have purchased a living room set and three bedroom sets in the past. After my recent experience I WILL NEVER SHOP AT STEINHAFELS AGAIN. We purchased two end tables and a coffee table. Elected to pick them up to save the absurd delivery service fee. When I got the tables home, two of the three tables were damaged. I arranged to exchange them and picked up the two new tables. This time, one of them was again damaged. This time I requested they pick up and replace the table as this scenario was becoming an inconvenience. My request was denied, the customer service representative was rude, and constantly spoke over me instead of listening to my grievance. When I asked to speak to her supervisor she refused and said the answer would be the same. I called the store manager who was slightly more professional but equally obtuse. Needless to say, I was unable to find a single Steinhafels representative who was remotely interested in retaining my family as a customer and was willing to make a small concession to compensate me for my troubles and inconvenience. I can only believe that the lack of customer service exhibited by those I had contact with is an approved culture that is encouraged by their corporate office and the Steinhafel family. After experiencing this lack of customer service, there is nothing that could earn my trust and continued patronage. However, it does not excuse staff acting flippant about it and out right stating they do not get updates so they cannot alert their customers on delivery dates. We spent $3500 on two couches, which included a warranty plan. They both fell apart and the warranty company confirmed it was bad craftsmanship and a poor quality product. Our options were a refund of only $800 or full replacement of both couches so we decided to have them replaced hoping they would be better. After the new order was submitted, Steinhafels took two months to get them in stock. We scheduled delivery and they never showed and never called. No apology when we called. Their response was "sometimes trucks break down." We rescheduled and they delivered a broken couch. We rescheduled again (confirming the couch would be new and in working condition) and today they delivered another broken couch. They refuse to offer any compensation or a refund and they refuse to take any responsibility for the problem. Instead they are throwing blame on the warranty company who (rightfully) closed out the claim after the order was put through and paid for. We also have in writing as part of the agreement that Steinhafels would take away the old/broken couches and they are also refusing to do that now. The furniture at Steinhafels is of very poor quality. Customer service is even worse. Do not trust them and take your business elsewhere to a reputable furniture store. I won't ever purchase furniture from Steinhafels again. I asked specific questions about the durability of the fabric of a couch we were looking to buy. Sales lady assured me it was durable and would hold up. After 7 months our couch looked like it was 7 years old. I had always liked Steinhafel's, so decided to go there when I needed a new sofa, plus a few other things. Found the sofa I wanted (Who knew I needed a power recliner? Now, I do!), plus an end table/cabinet. This is where the fun begins. Delivery charge is $119.00. That is outrageous. (I just bought a dryer from Loew's. They delivered, down the basement stairs, installed and removed my old dryer all for $50.) However, I bit the bullet. I had already spent an hour plus and didn't really feel like starting over. We set up the delivery date. When I checked my calendar I realized I had a conflict on that date and needed delivery by 1pm (they start delivery at 7am, so that gives them a 6-hour window). No, they couldn't promise delivery by 1 and suggested I reschedule. I checked their website and found that you can only schedule 7am to 9pm on any given day. You can't request, for instance, mornings or afternoons or evenings.They email you 2 days before and tell you when they'll deliver. So, you're basically at their mercy. I thought I was the customer. Since when is the customer told when it will be convenient for the store, not the other way around? I canceled my $1500 order (not a large order for them, but certainly for me) and will shop somewhere that has more respect for their customers and their time. read more

I purchased one of your custom dining room tables and chairs from Steinhafels Furniture in Greenfield, WI. We waited 3 months to have it delivered and when it was finally delivered at the end of February we were not satisfied with the quality of this product. Every chair (4) has an issue with it. They have scratches, dents, notches, bad paint, missing paint, and missing chair feet. Our table also has a gash in the wood underneath it. I was told this was a very high quality product when I purchased it and paid a lot of money for it! I'm just not seeing that with the product I received. I feel like it was very poorly made and it looks like it was a rush job that no one bothered to look at before they sent it out to me. I contacted Steinhafels immediately after they delivered it and told them all of my issues with this table and chairs and that I'm not satisfied with the quality of this product at all! They suggested I let them touch it all up. I'm not satisfied with that suggestion. I feel like even when you touch something up, you can still see where they did the work. I've had it done on previous furniture I've purchased. I feel like I bought this brand new and it should arrive to me in perfect condition, especially for the money I paid for it. I shouldn't have to settle for them touching it up. Now it has been 6 months since I bought this table set and they were going to try to "fix" it with the new seats they ordered, but the color they ordered doesn't even match the table! The tech they sent out to "fix" it said that he wouldn't be able to even address all of the problems and that it would all have to be sent back to their warehouse! Why they didn't schedule a pick up in the first place, blows my mind! So here I am wait again to have it "fixed". The tech said they will have to reorder the seats again, which takes 2 months to get and then they will schedule a pick up to address the rest of this disaster of a table set. He also told me when it is all done, I will still be able to tell it has been touched up. This is completely unacceptable! It pains me to even give them one star. The furniture is some of the poorest quality of any furniture I have ever bought anywhere. If you're lucky it will last about six months before something starts coming apart. DON'T purchase the cleaning/repair plan they claim they will reimburse if you don't use. When it came time to get the reimbursement they acted like they had no idea what was promised despite the paperwork. They gave us store credit for $180.00. There is nothing of style or quality for $180 in that store. We were stuck buying some table that cracked after about two months and we barely touched it! Please do not waste your time, money, or energy with this company and more importantly, this store location. My husband and I bought and ordered a couch from this location back in September. We were assured that the couch would arrive by October. Once October rolled around, they postponed and said the couch would arrive in November. Once the couch finally arrived, they only gave us two options for delivery, one was a couple weeks after the couch arrived, the other was ten days later. We chose the day that worked for us and got rid of our old couch the night before. The delivery men were late and took one look at our door entrance and claimed the couch wouldn't fit. Even though I asked them to try several angles to get the couch inside, and also offered the back door for them to try, they insisted that the couch wouldn't fit and left. Now we have no couch for the foreseeable future. I tried calling them the following day to get some assistance. Someone from the customer service department in a different location answered (she insisted she could not transfer me to someone in the actual store) and then she assured me someone would call me back. Can you guess what happened next? It'll be a shock to readers to learn that no one contacted or called me back. Now I'm out three months of wasted time waiting for this damn piece of furniture and will be sitting on the floor in my living room until we find another option. No longer my go to store for furniture. They have grown so big that customer service is no longer a priority. Completed survey to explain problem. Final question asked if I wanted a Manager to contact me. I said "Yes" but never got a call. I will shop else where for my next furniture purchase. read more

In October I went to Steinhafels to purchase new living room furniture. It's now April 4 ands I still don't have my purchase. I've experienced several lies and extreme incompetence. I can't get receipts even though they've accessed my bank account. 2 different sets of earring and damaged furniture have been delivered. I've been overcharged and can't get a refund. Steinhafels seems to feel that once they've got your money you are at their mercy. Mike Patzlsberger (Identified himself as General Manager) is aware of the entire frustrating situation and assured me that they have a fantastic customer satisfaction rating. He's either lying or completely in denial. DONT LOSE YOUR MONEY at this unethical business. I've discovered Wayfair and a few more options. I'm extremely satisfied with products, selection tprice and the customer service is excitingly fantastic when compared to my most recent experience with Steinhafels. read more

We were shopping for new furniture for our basement on Memorial Day and picked out a set and the salesperson would not get back to us. Once she did the price went up and they would not honor the sale price. So, we agreed to go back and pay the full price for the set and now they can't deliver until Mid July. We decided to find a company more customer focused and we will not use Steinhafels in the future! read more

I bought two items from this store and I will never go back. They delivered one but the other was not the right item. They never called me to apologize or reschedule with the right item. I had to call and still did not get an apology AND was told it would be another week to get it..... even though it was there mistake. I asked that a manager call me back but nobody ever did. When I did call my salesperson, he said he had no idea what was even going to be delivered! What kind of company treats customers like this? I cancelled my order and will never go back! the worse customer service ever! I was buying a bed for my granddaughter. I am from out of state, they would not give me 0% interest with my 830 credit score because I was from out of state. my Daughter then took out the credit. they would not finance the tax....never heard of that. the bed we chose was shoved in a corner, could not see how it set up, it came with a book case, (an extra $350.00) no problem. then as he was ringing it up he said the bookcase came separate. great we don't need it. what is the dimensions of the box? no on knows!! then we got a call the bookcase sat on the bed frame. Still thought we did not need it. we had to what 3 days for the financing to clear, OK. got o an e-mail the next day, the bed was ready for pick up. then we called to say we financed it do we need to wait. NO. got out to the distribution center and they would not let us pick it up it has not been 3 day. OK, so let's look at the bed without the bookcase, chose to exchange the bed. I don't know how the sales commission works but we got little attention from the second sales rep. 1st the computers went down, then she took care of 2 other customers in between our questions. chose to pay to have the bed delivered this time. bed showed up without the slats. could not get fully assembled. ended up finishing it ourselves. Terrible customer service and support for products! Couch that is 3 1/2 years old frame totally cracked. problems with it from the start and just got worse. Customer service refused to let me talk to supervisor, rude, no followup! Guardsman is a joke! After spending thousands of dollars at this place over the years will no longer shop there again. Sad! I even offered if they would give me some kind of store credit I would just pick out a new item and No.. Try someplace else they are making too much $ and not supporting customers needs.
