I was a part of a big family and friends group, celebrating a birthday. At the arrival we sat at the biggest table the had prepared for us, with everything elegantly set on the table. After a while they brought fresh bread and buns with home butter, and some small amuse-bouche. One was quail egg with truffles and a small onion tartlet. For starter we got a beautiful plate of foie gras, very good but comparing to the plates that came later it wasn't as exciting (perhaps because it's not my favorite dish, the four gras itself). Second starter was my favorite dish of the evening- probably because I love mushrooms. It was a mushroom ravioli with beef stock and morchella mushroom on the side. It was probably the most amazing mushroom dish I had tried in a long time. For main course we got a beef filet with a mix of chanterelle mushroom with a gravy infused with wild berries and on the side mashed potatoes with slow cooked beef. Delicious dish, meat was just melting in your mouth and mixed with all the ingredients it was heavenly. Last course was a dessert which was a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a merengue, cream cheese and a flambéed peach. All in all a great place with a very modern cuisine, great food, great atmosphere, located at a pedestrian street in the middle of the city. 5/5 is certainly deserved.

While it has 33 rooms- know that the front desk staff may also be serving you your dinner, renting you a bike or even making you a drink as they do everything with a small staff here. The room I had was a double and faced the patio out front. No air conditioning but the windows open to let in the sea breezes and you may be able together a small fan from the front desk if they have any available. The beds are comfortable , Internet is free, and there was even a couch and sitting area along with a desk in the room I had. A delicious breakfast is also included in your rate with eggs and bacon, breads, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and individual coffee pots you can take to your table. The bathroom while small, had good water pressure but be careful of the step. The tile looks flat but there was a step down to the shower that fooled me every time!! On one of the nights I was there - the owner and her mother cooked a beautiful pork roast dinner for our group of 18 complete with salad, glazed potatoes, and a kind of "fruit soup" for dessert served with heavy cream that was out of this world!. You can rent bikes for the day from the front desk which is a great way to see AEros. Just find the bike out front that you want, look for the number on it and ask for the key at the desk. The cost is about 150 dk per day. I loved that they have a patio out front where you can sit and have drinks, or even take your breakfast outside. And the location is just up from the ferry landing and close to the grocery store and most if the restaurants on the island. And if you want to rent a private cottage for your family- they have a number of those available as well. A great choice is you find yourself on AEros island!!
