Steffany is not only clearly very knowledgable about horses, but also passionate, and great at teaching. This experience was extremely well priced for the value we got. We went on a beautiful trail in a forest nearby filled with butterflies and serenity. despite the record breaking heat that day, we were completely comfortable and relaxed the whole journey. In one appointment, in addition to our ride, we learned about basic horse care and grooming, getting gear on and off, and basics of caring for a stable of horses. We really got to taste the pleasures and responsibilities of owning your own horse(s), all for the small fee of a trail ride. Booking was extremely convenient. We were making a trip to Port Dover from Toronto, and just called Fox Lair along the way on a whim. Steff happily accommodated our schedule. We will definitely be back again, and highly recommend this stable to anyone. Thanks Steff!

We could not be happier with our daughters growth and experience under the steady and gentle guidance of Steffany Fox at Foxlair Stables. Steffany is a wealth of knowledge and experience. Her focus is on safety, horsemanship, learning, individual experience and FUN! Her horses are very well trained and very well cared for. A well maintained, large arena means lessons can take place in a safe and comfortable environment year round. If you're looking for a pleasant trail ride, lessons, amazing summer camp experience or boarding with use of trails and facilities you won't be disappointed. Foxlair is our happy place.

Birthday party review:…read more We went to the gym for a 4-year-old's birthday party. It was one hour of supervised play (2 instructors) followed by snacks in a small party room (the host was in charge of providing the snacks). The play area was a small rectangular space. There was a rope swing, cushioned stairs and mats, a small trampoline and a cushioned swinging column that kids can swing on. My kids are 1- and 3-year-old stayed mostly in the pillow pit and bounced a bit on the trampoline. After a bit of free play, the kids were told to run through the circuit, but my kids didn't quite grasp the concept. The older kids seemed bored. I'm not sure what the optimum age is for this type of party... Maybe 5 year olds? After the circuit, the kids took turns on a harassed aerial swing. This seemed fun and the kids were pulled quite high in the air. The gym does provide tumbling and gymnastic classes. I peered into the large gym area and it looked legit (I don't know anything about gymnastic classes though). There's also parent and tot classes too. The birthday party might be fun for kids around 5-8 years old. I wouldn't host a party there myself as the play area is small and the activities were somewhat limited, but if my kids are invited to a birthday party there, we'll attend.

If we weren't so loyal to the lovely people at "our gym" I'm sure I would have put my kids here. I recall two separate gyms and a "party/eating room" and saw a bigger room where parents could sit and watch the class through a wall sized window. The room our party was in had a lot of different gymnastics equipment that a range of differently aged kids could play with. The party was well organized and they did I nice job incorporating activities that put some nice attention on the birthday kid, to help celebrate her. (I find a lot of indoor playground birthday parties to just be a space rental and that's it. Nothing wrong with that, just know from what I remember, that was a nice feature of this place.) Sorry I can't say much first hand about this place as a gymnastics school. Our friends' kids went there for years and were really happy. They only "quit" because they moved out of country. I'm new to this whole writing reviews publicly thing but the single "1 star" review for this place caught my attention and I felt compelled to add my perspective. I've only been here once, at around the same time as the other review by Jeska P. (Please also note the follow-up response from Kids SuperGym itself - it seems likely that the review was meant for another place - it's a real shame Yelp doesn't do anything about this! This place has been sitting with a single 1 star review for over 3 years??!!) And I give them 5 stars because in my opinion, for what this place is and what our experience was, they deserve this. Is it the ultimate gymnastics school in the world? I have no idea. Did they do "anything wrong" in my opinion to warrant "docking" them a star? Not at all.

Every member gets a smart key and free personal training session when you sign up. Then they go around with you to every machine, load your height/weight and they test to see how much weight you should be lifting. After that, every time you go by yourself, you just plug the key in to the machine, the chair moves to where it should be and the weights configure to the perfect arrangement (until you get stronger and have to reconfigure). The key also stores how much you've been doing over time, tracks your cardio, allows your personal trainer to message you and suggest changes to your program - it's great. The YMCA itself is a great facility for families - they have a lot of swimming lessons, day care stuff, exercise classes, etc. I've heard guys complaining that the free weight area sucks compared to Good Life (I wouldn't know, I think the little bin of 5 lb dumb bells and medicine balls are top notch). This YMCA loses a star for classes. They only have one or two classes every morning, then one at noon, and maybe one or two more in the evening - way less than the Toronto YMCAs. They don't have spinning every morning either (however, I like the Oakville spinning instructors a lot - all of the classes are very tough and challenging - no duds unlike some other facilities).

For $8.50 a person, we were able to access the parking lot, which is situated conveniently next to the hiking trails. The hiking trails themselves are very short and flat, especially for someone who has lived in mountain towns before, but they are good nonetheless by Ontario standards. The trails mostly run along the top of the gorge cliff, overlooking the water with an obstructed view, however, once you get to the end of the trail, you could go on top of a bridge and get a great view of the gorge.

If you rented the equipment elsewhere, you don't have to wait in line but there's no signs up indicating which wasted a lot of time. Once you get the band, follow the yellow steps to the launching area. The hike is steep and long. Once you get into the water, you are on your own, there aren't life guards. The water flow was steady but other areas, fast. There is a area in between you can stop and dive off into the water. It's not easy to navigate the where to go unless you paddle in some way(used my water shoes) It's beautiful along the way, the scenery is beautiful, you will pass a waterfall! When you get to the end, it's best to step off as it was harder when when you reach the chain. Now the walk back to return equipment (if rented on site) and to the parking is also long but through the trail so just follow the signs. Along the way, I saw many camp sites. Tips, Bring water shoes, rocks Bring water proof case for car keys/phones. I guarantee if not secured, you will lose it. Bring ropes if you want to stay linked to your friends Wear sun screen Wear life jacket Wear helmet
