Stems has always been a favorite here at IHeartGR! So you could probably imagine that when we heard they were adding a plant room in April we were BEYOND joyful!! They have all kinds of plants ranging from house plants, tropical plants, succulents, containers, and more! And I'm sure you can guess that it's SUPER CUTE! One of my favorite things about this newly added plant room is that they have a little "Plant Bar" where they have succulents and plants you can pick out individually and then add them to a pot they have there or bring in your own even!! They provide the soil as well!! Their main location is found in Grandville and they also have "Mini Markets" at the Flowerland locations in Kentwood, Wyoming, and on Alpine! Went here to make some last minute centerpieces for an event that I was hosting. Walked in and was immediately greeted by wonderful staff who were more than willing to help. Walked out with $60 of 4 different shades of pink/red carnations and 2 growers bunches of babys breath and even a bucket with water they gave me for free for the ride home. Hey, just want to bring something to your attention. I really love this little flower shop. Gorgeous flowers and friendly people. However, after taking time to pick out flowers along with vase , checking out, the gal took my flowers and proceeded to put all flowers together flat on top and cut the long stems all one length. This just shouldn't happen. It's a real shame. The client is spending good money on beautiful flowers that then cannot be seen really unless you're looking down from the top. If the flowers were placed 'domed' some before cutting, the recipient could actually enjoy seeing them open up , not all crammed together in a flat topped arrangement and, not to mention, the bouquet would even look larger. I feel it's a disservice not to when you have long stemmed roses, perhaps they should be seen and have room to open, not shoved between everything so you can't even tell that they are in the bouquet. Same goes for any of the more prominent flowers. It was quite disheartening to see all flowers we had picked out whittled down and not utilized to create the beautiful arrangement it could have been. read more
