This place is fabulous! I wanted to do a girls day for my crafty friend's bday and I'm so glad I chose here! I love that there are so many different options and everyone can choose their own project. It was hard to choose just one. The set up is very organized and it is easy to find the supplies you need. The instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. Nicole is very patient and helpful, but at the same time doesn't intervene unless you ask. She said she wanted us to feel like it was our project. We all left feeling so proud and accomplished. Since March I have been taking a myriad of virtual classes hosted through Yelp. Recently, Yelp Phoenix introduced me to Stencil - A DIY Craft Studio. I signed up to take a coaster making class, which will take place soon, but also purchased an additional kit to make. The shipping was fast and I received the kits 3 days before the class. The night I received the kit, I completed the extra craft I purchased, which was the wooden cactus in a pot. Nicole, the owner, didn't cut corners. She was extremely thorough in everything included in completing your kit. There was even a nail to help you pick up the stencil, if needed. The packaging of all the items was great as well. Everything was labeled and matched with the instructions. Every minute detail was accounted for. You could tell the thought put into this, and that was superb. The instructions were so in depth and she made it so you could not screw it up. They were concise and easy to follow, which made completing the project a delight. There were also tips throughout the instructions, which helped. I live in Buffalo, NY and we have DIY studios around town, but it was so refreshing to be able to purchase different and unique crafts that you can't get around here. I highly recommend this studio for crafting, and hope someday I can attend a class in person. read more

I heard about Stencil from a flyer at a local restaurant. I went onto their website and they have their online reservation portal for events. I went with my daughter for a family craft session on a Sunday afternoon. We had a great time! The session was guided which made it really easy to follow. Staff was readily available for questions and they cleaned up easily while we crafted. I had to help my 7 year old along but that didn't take away from anything- we will definitely return. read more

Went here for an event and was pleasantly surprised with all they have to offer. First off Nicole was great very helpful and enthusiastic about the processes. We had 2 options to choose from which was a string art snowflake or a stencil box. I chose the string art cause I've never done that and it was really fun and I think turned out great. While at the studio you could see all the other options they offer and it was limitless , you even have the option of giving them your own design to create . I will definitely be attending another class in the future and if you book a class online or a seat you get $5 off very affordable. This is such a cute, awesome place if you want to get creative. There is so much to choose from, you can go online to their webpage and see all the different projects they have to create. If you have your own idea of a project you can even let them know your idea and they will work on making it happen. The prices are very reasonable and listed online for easy accessibility. They have Bring your own bottle of wine after 4 P.M. which is awesome ! You can do this with a friend, family member or your significant other. You can even rent out the whole room! I came here for a Yelp Event and I loved the experience. It was truly fun. If you are ever stuck on your project someone will be happily there to assist you. The staff is wonderful. Came here for an Elite Perk event. I was able to do a holiday gift box in under 2 hours. This place is so cute, tidy and bright. This places does cool wood working projects. I was so impressed by all of the projects on display. As A type personality, I love the organization of their craft stations. This place would be really fun to host a night out for any group. I will be suggesting to my sorority sisters a sisterhood event. I also like the fact that you can bring wine and there is no cleanup. What an amazingly fun evening. We chose the studio time for a group. We packed up wine and cheese and crackers and headed over to Stencil. I met the owner at the Maricopa Home Show and was as impressed by her array of craft projects on display. Our group chose two custom projects and three from the online catalog. We were impressed by the careful instructions, tons of studio help and orderly stations for collecting supplies. Aprons and any imaginable supply was available. If you are looking to create something literally from scratch (minus cutting the wood) you've come to the right location. I came with a friend on a whim. We both picked string art creations. Wow!! This is a fantastic craft "shop"!! Yes, Shop. I felt like I was back in Jr. High in Wood-Shop class. Not only did I paint & make something pretty with string BUT... I also, sanded, stained, drilled & hammered the wood for my art piece. Nicole was so very patient with answering all my questions. Stencil is a great "Maker Space" perfect for any size group and for any occasion where you want to have fun and socialize with your friends or family. There are several crafts that can be made and Nicole the owner offers the option for customized projects that are not listed on her site. Call to see what your cost would be for those special request. All you do is show up and everything you need is provided to do various craft options on site and take them home with you the same day. I have been wanting to try my hand at string art and I finally got a chance to do it here are Stencil. The instruction packets and video were great but if you get stuck and need help the staff is there to guide you. There are soft drinks for sale however they allow you to BYOB so that gives you a great advantage to curate your own group experience. We visited Stencil a couple days ago as an activity for mother's day, with my wife and her parents. We had a blast! First, the space at Stencil exudes a lot of creative energy. It makes you want to do ALL of the projects as you walk in. Also there is a wide variety of projects you can undertake. My wife had looked up this place on google. She wanted to customize some of the words we were putting on our projects and Nicole worked patiently with her over email on all customizations and sent us some mock ups to look at. She was very patient and helpful and even suggested some creative quotes to put on our projects. Awesome! As I've said before, the space at Stencil is very creative and organized. There are stations for hardware, painting, tools etc. and small clearly labelled buckets for small items. The experience starts off with Nicole providing a "shopping list" of items and instructions on how to do the project. There are bags conveniently hanging under tables that you carry over to each station to get specific items for your individual project. Very cool, very organized and very detailed! You then come back to your work area and start following the instructions. There are videos you can watch for which Nicole provides individual iPads. However, since it was just the four of us for the evening we asked Nicole to explain to us vs. watching the video and she obliged. She was so helpful and gave us suggestions at the right time to make our projects the best looking, greatest work of art ever! As we moved on to the next steps she would ask us design questions - stain, paint color, nail colors etc. - and would bring out the necessary items so we weren't overwhelmed. We were so impressed by her patience and attention to detail. She even let us customize a few things on the fly as our projects came together and got us some new stencils to meet our needs. Even when one of us messed up paint on the project, Nicole was somehow able to magically recover it so it looked flawless when everything was done! It is unbelievable that this place has been open only for 6 months! We had a great time! We've already hung the projects in the living room and it provides a classy, artsy feel to our space. We can't wait to go back to try some of the other projects. Do make this place part of your next major event. I think Nicole does "team building" events too for local companies. This is now my favorite "go-to" fun thing to do in town! When you want to hang with a friend, but don't want to eat or drink, this is something pretty cool to do that allows conversation and you take something home that you're proud of! I've been in the studio for two projects now, and I've done a few of Nicole's "destination projects" and I'm proud of all of them. I've brought a few friends and even the one that claimed she isn't crazy left with TWO super cute projects! The projects are broken down into easy to understand steps and before you know it, you're an artist and have become crafty! I've even made special requests and Nicole made my dream come true with a very special project for my wedding. The fees are more reasonable than some of the other make and take places in town, PLUS, you get to choose from hundreds of projects - unless you're going to a special event where everyone does the same project. I had the Stencil - A DIY Craft Studio come to my house for a mom's night. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. To start, Nicole created a website just for our event for the moms to chose, customize and pay for their craft. Then she arrived right on time with all the supplies needed to make our chosen craft. Nicole was professional, organized and so helpful which put us all at ease as we sanded, stained and nailed or projects together. This place is great! My friends and I have been to several different craft studios in town and this is my new favorite. I visited on a Sunday afternoon with two girlfriends. We reserved space online ahead of time to save $5.00 off our project (a great perk to entice you to decide ahead of time). This is the most organized craft studio I have ever seen. The owner, Nicole, will walk you through the process of picking up the components of your project, the handwritten directions, and the videos to help throughout your project (if applicable). She is also available for questions throughout. But, she lets you work at your own pace while she works on other upcoming projects. It was so fun! And the method in which her projects are organized, makes a complicated craft seem simple. It made me feel like a crafting pro! I love the fact that you can just show up and make whatever you want and that you do not have to sign up for a particular craft. There are so many great options for projects so my friends and I will be back again and again. I love the project I completed (felt succulents), although we worked more slowly than the projected 2-1/2 hour time frame that was estimated. But, Nicole was so gracious and let us finish without making us feel like we were over-staying our welcome. We can't wait to go back! And its even more appealing that when we do go back we can all do something different! Definitely try this place and bring your friends. You won't be sorry. read more
