Melanie was so encouraging and made sure to make each person feel included. Melanie chose a unique location and offered great recommendations on colors, outfits, and accessories. Then she set the timeline to allow for several options of groupings and individual shots for our kids. Melanie brought an assistant with her which seemed to make the difference with lighting and flashes. I met Audrey Christmas before last when…read moreshe generously volunteered her time photographing pets with Santa for our mutual vet, The Drake Center. All proceeds went directly to one of our local shelters that does amazing work helping pets find homes. She held a drawing for families who brought their pets in for a full photo session and our family was one of the lucky winners. We had our full family (two leggeds and four leggeds) photographed with her a few months later and it was truly an amazing experience. Audrey's professionalism and talent are beyond compare, but what really made her stand out in my mind was her ability to "read" our family and capture us just as we are. An example of this is our youngest daughter, who can tend to be a stinker when she's nervous or out of her element. Audrey was completely patient with her and waited until she was able to relax enough to be photographed. We weren't rushed in any way - she took her time and got some amazing shots of our girls, our pets and our whole family. I have come to love Audrey, not only for her professional talent, but for her personality and spirit. She is wonderful to work with but even better to know.

After the ease of setting up day, time, and place, deposit and contract were sent. Everything was done electronically, making it convenient. The day of the session went well despite a little wind making hair placement difficult. Other than that, she arrived on time and accommodated our change of location requests. My only complaint is that she didn't take as many candid or playful shots of the kids or family as I expected. I also felt like we didn't get as much direction as to how to pose. She did advise us in what order to stand. I would have maybe liked a few seated poses as well. Overall, she was friendly and professional. She even took some photos with my old polaroid camera per my request. The finished work arrived quickly via a link through email with direction on how to download and select favorites. The images are beautiful and the turn out with final editing was fast, approximately 2 to 3 days. I am pleased with how everything went and how it turned out.
