I am not a fan of doctors, so I went in expecting the same behavior as most doctors. They usually just do what they have to do and leave the room without ever speaking more than they have too. I was so wrong. Dr. Smith put me at ease. She had to do a biopsy and talked me through every step of the procedure. She explained everything she was doing and made me feel so comfortable. I waited for the results and was told I needed to come back and have the LEEP procedure. Dr. Smith remembered everything I had told her a month before about my family. She even remembered my husband was a boilermaker. I was shocked, as most people especially a doctor would not even remember. I had read horror stories about this LEEP procedure online, but with Dr. Smith it went very smoothly. She spoke the whole through the procedure once again and put me at ease. She even came back into the room to make sure I was okay. A few weeks after the procedure I was at Overland Park hospital to visit my daughter who had just given birth. Dr. Smith was there at the hospital and we waved at her. To my complete shock, she walked over and spoke to my husband and I like we were old friends. She is such an amazing doctor and an amazing person. I think if anyone is looking for a gynecologist doctor, that they should pick Dr. Maggie Smith. She is truly a one of a kind doctor!

I called my OB (who is amazing) afterwards and asked her to look over the results as I don't know how they can do a full scan in 5 minutes. My dr. called me personally said she was sorry for not prepping me, that is how they are. They give bad news to people all day long and don't really treat patients or delivery babies. She has given them feedback before but they don't seem to care. She only continues to refer patients because they are so good at finding and monitoring high risk, their expertise overrides their terrible service. I am just SO glad I do not have to go back. You look forward to your ultrasound (this is my 3rd baby) and want it to be a pleasant experience - ladies don't expect it from them! Also, I thought about taking my other two kids with me and this is not a family friendly place.

On top of that, her office won't automatically file your prescription with your pharmacy, which is a big deal to me. Also, I don't know how comfortable you are with making your pelvic exam small talk public, but the exam room walls are paper-thin; I could hear EVERYTHING Dr. Bohon and her other patient were talking about in the next room. Even the clicking of the speculum. Yikes! Pass.

I am not a fan of Dr Moncure's office staff. While waiting to check in you can enjoy the ladies at the front desk sitting around talking. Granted there really isn't a rush because you can plan to sit in the waiting room at least an hour past your appointment time, more likely longer, waiting to be seen. No matter how clear you are about time constraints when scheduling a procedure or appointment, you will be guaranteed it will work and it will just become a frustrating mess. The office needs some major change ups.

Tammy even stated the nurse had been there with her discussing my situation so its not that she's too busy to take my calls, they are literally there talking about me AND the nurse had got my voicemail about bleeding and cramping and still had not returned my call or get on the phone. Been to this hospital for emergency surgery and been in their psych ward. all of the nurses are…read morerude and disrespectful. even the doctors. they act like they're doing it for the paycheck not the health of the patients. they don't help when you need help the most. they're very slow when they say they will help you. or they'll just bluntly ignore you. they've lied about me overdosing and taking xanax. the psych ward is so dirty. gave me dinner while i was asleep and woke up with ants next to me. on my last morning there i saw a roach in the dining hall. i've had to do everything myself with no actual help from any doctor. would not ever recommend this hospital for anything if possible.
