I have never been to Charlotte NC before, and as I did my research on what to do, the US National…read moreWhitewater Center often came up as 1 of 2 must-visit attractions. Not being a real outdoorsy person, and only having whitewater rafted once, I felt the $89 day pass was very reasonable. I arrived at the USNWC at open time, and paid $13 for parking. Once parked, I lined up at the Outfitters center to sign up for activities. It was already busy, so I was probably in line for about 20 minutes to get my spot for whitewater rafting. They make it sound like you can only do whitewater rafting once, but after speaking to my guide, you can only have one reservation at a time. Once you finish you trip, you can immediately sign up again if there are spots. As I was there relatively early, I was schedule for a 10am rafting start, which gave me plenty of time to walk around the check out the area before getting to rafting. My general thoughts: - Whitewater rafting was terrific. It was the main focus of my visit, and completely made my day pass worth it. My guide was fun and informative. The conveyer belt bringing the raft back up was operational while I did it, but later in the day, it looked like the conveyer was out of service, so everyone had to carry the rafts back up, which is quite a bit of extra work. Between the heat and extra carrying, I decided not to go back, otherwise I would have. - The bin storage service made it easy to rent a bin to store my gear. It often had lines, so I would recommend minimize the number of times you need to access it. You can access as many times as you want. - I did the kayaking at the flatwater area. It was a much more relaxing area that you can go at your own-pace. - The ziplines were a bit disappointing, unless you pay extra for the longer lines. The lines that don't require reservations are very short, and frankly, not worth doing unless it's your first time trying it. - Most of the rock climbing areas were closed off, and the few areas open was packed with small children. So I decided not to try it. - Because by late day, it was getting uncomfortably hot, so i decided not to do the rope courses, but they looked pretty good. - Entry to the area is free, so a good number of visitors hang out just to have picnics and watch. Overall, I enjoyed my visit, only because of the whitewater rafting. It's much more affordable then what I could do back at home. The ziplines are good for first timers. Ropes courses looked good, and flatwater activities are nice to move at a more relaxed pace. I can see why it's a popular place.

I'm writing this review because I dropped my Tahoe/Avalon pontoon off at North Point Watersports…read morefor diagnosis and repair of a fuel delivery problem on JULY 11th 2024, and 4 months later they still haven't repaired the boat. I chose North Point because my boat and motor are under warranty and it may have been an issue that they could complete under warranty. Although I did not purchase my boat from North Point they stated they could do the warranty work as appropriate. As it turns out they said the problem was caused by faulty fuel that they said corrupted the VST on the outboard and would not be covered by warranty which I understand. However, 4 months is way too long to have a boat in any shop for a repair estimated at 4 hours total and no ETA for when they can have it fixed. Given my experience with North Point, I wouldn't be surprised to see a response to this review with more excuses or blame since they haven't taken ownership. Anyone considering purchasing a boat from North Point Watersports may want to consider the ability of this shop to effectively and efficiently provide service support following the sale. 10/22/2024 UPDATE: Today I picked up my boat from North Point still not running after they had it FOUR months. The only way I was able to get to this point was by filing a consumer complaint with the NC DOJ at https://ncdoj.gov/file-a-complaint/consumer-complaint/ Subsequently I dropped it off at another dealer who committed to having it running within two weeks or sooner

Dave (the owner) took the time to educate us on pontoons and asked us the right questions to suggest the best boat for our needs. We then visited every pontoon dealer within an hour of our home, just to end up back at North Point. A year later and we can not be happier. The boat itself has been everything we needed for our family. Dave and his team continue to provide great customer service whenever we have questions or need anything. Highly recommend North Point and Avalon Boats. Best quality for the price hands down!

We loaded up our whole family of 13, including 5 toddlers and we had a BLAST! The Trolley has been beautifully restored and incredibly comfortable. The owner, Hal, made sure we had a smooth and fun ride, playing Christmas music and making sure we were all having a fun time. He spent time with the kids showing them how different parts of the trolley worked and let them ring the bell. The excitement of riding the trolley honestly was as much fun if not more fun than the actual train ride to follow. We had such a wonderful time that we hired them again to take our family through Tanglewood's festival of lights. I can't imagine us going through the light show in any other way. Hal made sure to point out all of the displays that he knew the kids would enjoy. He also knew a great deal about the history of Tanglewood and shared a ton of interesting facts about how the park has changed over the years. The memories create on both of these rides will be cherished by our entire family and so happy we made the decision to go with Triad Trolleys! If you are looking for a fun way of exploring the Triad area or simply for a fun night out, I cannot begin to recommend enough renting one of their trolleys for your adventure! We will be using their services again and again!

Inside, the facility was clean and organized with a solid variety of obstacles for the kids -- and even adults -- to enjoy. Everything felt safe, and it ended up being a great workout for the whole family! The staff was friendly and informative from the moment we walked in. Signing waivers was easy with multiple desktops available, and there were snacks for sale and a comfortable sitting area for parents to relax and watch. I also really appreciated the clean restrooms -- especially that they had a changing table, which made things much easier with my 7-month-old. I want to give a shout-out to a young girl on staff who was so sweet and attentive to my daughter. She helped supervise the kids and made sure they were having fun and staying safe. Unfortunately, the team doesn't wear name tags and I didn't think to ask for her name, but she stood out! Two male team members also stepped in to help my husband with quick demonstrations and explained how to complete certain obstacles -- which was super helpful. My only small critique would be the limited space for the 1-3-year-old area. It seemed more suitable for children 1 and under. All in all, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!
