As you might expect, the pandemic has ravaged the town! Many of these unfortunate folks have been my friends and acquaintances and have had their services here. Atmosphere- This is a tiny place next door to a large cemetery. It doesn't look like much from the outside. Sometimes, parking can be a huge challenge! Once you get inside the rooms are beautifully decorated in an understated way. Everything is spotless. Customer Service- Everyone that has touched me has been sensitive to the emotional trauma that visiting here entails. I fervently wish that I would never need to visit here again but sadly, I know that is wishful thinking. Their ability to deal with an emotional and difficult situation is exceptional!

My problem was when the funeral service staff made their speech/announcement at the end of the church service. The staff started to speak about politics. There is no place for your political opinion at all funeral. I am a licensed funeral director for over 28years. I would NEVER bring up my political views at a funeral service.

Pinecrest is a municipal cemetery operated by the City of Sebring. It currently hosts some 4500…read morememorials. It is a lawn-style cemetery, mostly flat with some scrub and trees throughout. The lanes are easily drivable and they have put in markers to denote the various sections. They're in order and while it did take me a while to work it out, it's better than most. I was here to visit the final resting place of George Eugene Sebring Jr. (1859-1927), founder of Sebring, Florida. Originally from Ohio, he and his brothers built a successful pottery business and even founded Sebring, Ohio. After discovering the Lake Jackson area in 1911, he purchased land and began developing Sebring, Florida which was officially chartered in 1913. George played a key role in shaping the town, launching businesses, building the Kenilworth Lodge, and donating land for churches. He passed away in 1927. Attending funeral services is a time for reflection; even more so when it's a close relative. My…read moremother recently passed at age 96 and her services were held here. My dad passed sixteen years ago, and we used these fine folks. My mother was so impressed she also requested them. Prepaid- I handled it for my mom years ago and it was an extremely simple, one appointment process. It's one less thing to worry about at a trying time. Responsiveness- These folks are open 24-7! When I needed them, I called at 2am, that's right 2am and they answered on the second ring. I got the ball rolling in the middle of the night and I was very impressed! Services Planning- As it was prepaid, a great deal of the service had already been decided. They made sure every I was dotted, and every T crossed. The Service- In a word, Perfection! There were three employees standing by the entire time to answer every question and act on any last-minute requests. Several attendees commented on how well it was executed. Although it so easy to procrastinate, as we grow older, taking care of these issues in advance makes it much easier on your loved ones! These fine folks have my highest recommendation!

Fort Meade is the oldest town in Polk County and Evergreen is the oldest cemetery. It is owned by…read morethe city of Fort Meade. The town and fort was named after Lt. George Meade, an army lieutenant serving in Florida following the Second Seminole War. Fort Meade was founded in 1849 along a military trail set up between Tampa and Fort Pierce after the start of the Second Seminole War. Founded in 1840, the earliest known burial in the cemetery is that of John I. Hooker (1821-1862). The age of graves range from the pioneers in the 1840's to today. Mr and Mrs. L.B. Brown are also buried here. Mr. Brown started life as a slave and became a successful businessman. His former home has been turned into a museum you can tour. A recent addition is 23 year old Damion Tillman who was killed in July of 2020, along with friends Keven Springfield and Brandon Rollins in a triple homicide that took place during a fishing trip in Frost Proof. The murder dominated the news when it occurred. This is a very picturesque cemetery and peaceful place of final rest with lots of trees dripping in Spanish moss and some very interesting headstones. There is a lot of Polk County history here. This is a great place to do historical research and a little known fact, cemeteries also make a great place to bird watch.

Comfortable seating out front, nice seating areas around inside. A nice area where the family had a buffet with nice seating and an outside area. Staff were helpful (but didn't look like their dog had just died). A+
